  1. Is it only me who finds this song a little weird? Sounds like an 80's biy band with a slightly harder edge. I don't mind it, just reminds me of a song that might have been in the movie Short Circut or something... Also a touch of ABBA's SOS to the chorus. In fact I'd say they have borrowed heavily from it.
  2. From Melbourne (closest city on the mainland coast) to Devonport (closest Tasmanian city) it is 447 kilometers or 277 miles It's an overnight boat ride (once or twice daily) or about a 1.5 hur flight.
  3. It is a great album. I saved 6 songs off it as keepers.
  4. Image was taken from the official Sixx Am website. that's all there is. In true Nikki form, he will build it all up just to let down lol
  5. I've been all over Tasmania, Hobart and Launceston are very small cities and not comparable to most others. Adelaide is nice, but a bit backwater, kind of like a socio econimic drop overall. Perth is modern, clean and as you say, big and sparse. In Queensland, the Gold Coast is really touristy but probably the place to be, BRisbane is a bit like Adelaide. I'd like in Tasmania, but there are pros and cons with Bass Strait, Kids visits are harder but no covid and the island is closed to keep it that way. Also with all the global warming, it isn't likely to stay too cold for too long Same issue with Perth with its selclusion. But unlike you I love my home city. I rarely have to go into the city and live in a nice suburban area.
  6. Yeah, the more I look at it, and taking into account Nikki is involved, I'd say it's a track with all those people on it, rather than an album with different people on different tracks.
  7. Sirens in songs suck when driving. Especially if its a new songa nd you aren't expecting it.
  8. Never done Twitter or Instagram. Kids have a family Snapchat group, but I don't really see the point. No different to a messenger group. I've seen my kids use TikTok and it's pretty fucking stupid as well. Iuse Facebook for a range of reasons, mainly to keep in touch with people, especially friends overseas or interstate.
  9. Second Queensland. Anywhere but Sydney (provokes Geoff ) Queensland has a pretty temperate climate, year round nice temperature, not too hot in summer, not too cold in winter (although they pretty much have wet and dry seasons anyway, especially the further North you go) Only downside is the humidity there. I guess kinda like Florida in many ways.
  10. I've never been big on forum sites. Metal Edge was great, but then it ended. A bunch of people left and Metal Exiles was born, but then that kinda died. So I went to Sleaze Roxx. No big deal when skid moved on as he wasn't all that active, but soon after that they shut down the forum (without much warning - pricks) Every now and then I clicked on Melodic Rock but they always were either fanboying bands, or leaning too heavily away from what I liked so I never really took much interest. Anyway, this is the only music forum I go to now. Outside of musci I was in a Swans forum (football) for a long time, but they pissed me off so I left a couple of years ago. As for just music info, I pretty much use Google. I'll click on Loudwire every couple of weeks to see if I;ve missed any new music https://loudwire.com/2020-hard-rock-metal-album-release-calendar/ But mostly I find out about the new music I want here, which I the main reason I am here
  11. Perth is nice. Hot there is summer, if you like that, but every evening the 'Freemantle Doctor' comes in (cool breeze) and creates a pleasant evening. It is fairly isolated from the ost of Australia, and getting even anywhere is Western Australia is a fair journey from its capital. I guess they have no covid, so that's a prety big bonus right now. Also getting to Europe, SE Asia etc is a lot cheaper than from the bigger cities on the East Coast as it it a lot closer to these areas - not that it counts for anything at the moment.
  12. Meh, I see Australia as mini-USA to a large degree. We follow most things from there. Overall I see it as kind of more dangerous in some areas. Thjere are things I don't like. I'd prefer non compulsory voting, like the US, I'd prefer a presidential system of government and am pro republic fo Australis (sever those ties with England), but there are many things here that I'd prefer to live with and I think are far better than in the USm\, nut most people would also say that their country is the best for a range of reasons.
  13. Yeah, only time got to see them live was Rocktober 84 I think it was. they headlined a massive lineup. Remember duwing their set they crossed on the big acreen to Hey Hey It's Saturday. molly spoke with Shirl and he was booed loudly having recently come out as gay. Shows how much times have changed. These days it is more like "nobody cares, stop making it something special,,,"
  14. Yeah, I can see how you may not like the vocals. I never liked Ozzy's, Lemmy's, Mark Slaughter with Vinnie Vincent or that dude who sung that "I Believe In A Think Called Love" Also many ohehrs that people seem to froth.
  15. Yep. I mean if you like I can not be bothered and just open up the Trump, Corona, Black Lives Matter threads. I guess what is worth, making a bit of a nothing thread, or taking the time to reply to it and bump it?
  16. Missed this one. I'll be checking this out for sure. Really enjoy this band.
  17. In Blinded By The Light, the lyrics AREN'T "wrapped up like a douche, another runner in the night"
  18. Both songs are pretty good. Vocals lean towards Kyle Troy from Ford Fairlane a bit but probably need to get used to them.
  19. Everyone's heard Maiden's cover of the Skyhoos song women In Uniform. Came across this one of Horror Movie, which is also pretty cool.
  20. Never took to any of those bands, but didn't bag them. just didn't listen to them. I guess they are the older versions of Black Veil Brides and Five Finger Death Punch where there is some kind of movement against them for whatever reason. Too screamo, too modern. I'm not sure. Maybe others can comment of why they don't like them and what genre they are lumped in to. But I like them both. Another one might be Papa Roach. I never really did them, until recentlyand was reallty surprised at the catalogue.
