  1. LEGENDARY KISS MANAGER William Aucoin, beloved record industry executive, manager, entrepreneur, and creative visionary, passed away this morning, Monday, June 28 at 9:11 am. EST at the Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida. Born December 29, 1943, Bill was battling prostate cancer, and passed away from surgical complications. The man known for masterminding the career of the world-renowned group KISS, Bill Aucoin also managed STARZ, TOBY BEAU, BILLY SQUIER, BILLY IDOL, and numerous other artists. His most recent venture is Aucoin Globe Entertainment, which he founded in 2007. In its three years, Bill and his company developed bands in the U.S. and around the world. He leaves behind his boyfriend of fifteen years, Roman Fernandez, and two sisters Betty Britton and Janet Bankowski. Funeral arrangements are pending.
  2. Well they do seem to have big label connections at least as the Reckless Love CD was released through Spinefarm via Universal Records.
  3. Spinefarm is a Finnish label, and has been making quite a lot of signings in recent times, and now has a UK arm as well. Reckless Love are signed to Spinefarm already, so its no surprise that they seem to be reissuing a band like Crashdiet as well. Even the British band Jettblack are now signed to them. Just looked on Amazon.co.uk, and they are also saying that the album will be re-released in July, so it all looks genuine.
  4. I'll just content myself with going to see them for free at the O2 tonight.
  5. Not sure if this song has been released outside Europe as I believe it was available as a downloadable b-side only. http://rapidshare.com/files/402333461/12_-_Reckless_Love_-_Get_Electric.mp3.html They actually play this one live at shows.

  7. Well seeing as the band are getting more media attention as Rock Sugar than they ever got as Loud & Clear, that gives them a damn good reason to record such a great covers CD.

  9. I think what Nick was saying is that yes, it would appeal to those of use here that like this stuff, but all those people who are buying their albums and going to their shows that arent buying all the great classic rock stuff that is loved here, would not buy into the band were it not for the humour. I can say that a good portion of the crowd at Panther gigs would not be the sort of people you see at a Gotthard gig or a Reckless Love gig or a Crashdiet gig etc. If not for the parody aspect, they would still be playing tiny clubs, would not be signed to a big label and would not have hit the UK album charts. Hell, they certainly wouldnt have been played by Fearne Cotton on Radio 1 last week.

  12. Just in case anyone is interested, when I saw them live, the guy singing on this is the lead guitarist, and only sang a few numbers. The other guy on guitar sang most of the songs.
  13. Not a bad song. Not a million miles from what Bret has being doing the last few years.
  14. tbh, I am not sure if things were good between Vinnie and the other members of the band since he split, as I have both Kristy and Steve on my Facebook friends list, and neither of them even mentioned his death.
  15. Perfect example is the Perris reissue of Leather boyz with electric toyz. The addition of the original Jap bonus track, Slam Dunk, really was a great addition. Most of the rest of the bonus tracks tarnished what was a perfect album for me.
  16. On a best of album its fine, but on a reissue I wanna hear stuff recorded at the same time, not new songs that may not even fit with the sound. Would a modern Tesla song sit well on a reissue of a clasic album? Ditto for Warrant, Crue, Stryper or just about most bands who are still going. I dont want a bonus track that could possibly be so out of place that it spoils the consistancy of what is a classic album. Just listen to the unreleased stuff that was released on the last two Tyketto albums, and they were good quality songs, so bonus tracks do not have to be live tracks or shitty quality demos.
  17. Hmmm, not sure I like the idea of a bonus track being something new rather than something from the vaults.
  18. Seeing as the album only came out last year, I doubt they will start on a new album just yet as they have been touring all over the world, and these covers are merely the equivilant of single b-sides in an era when CD singles are a rarity. That said, Ralph said today that he met Joe Elliot at the Metal Hammer awards last night, and Joe has shown interest in being on their next album.
  19. Mine just looks silver from start to finish, with no kind of colour change etc, and do not believe it to be a CDR.
  20. With the CDR/silver pressed disc, as I said before, if you look on the silver side of the disc, it has this website http://www.ultraentertainment.com/ To me it looks silver pressed, but its getting harder and harder to tell CDRs from the real deal these days. Ultra Entertainment seem to be a company that will do the duplications for bands, which could mean they are silver pressed. They use full colour professional screen printing on the discs as well, so they certainly look as good as any major label in my opinion. As has been said, it wouldnt surprise me if the band dont know the difference between silver pressed and CDR, or what process Ultra use.
  21. I dont hear anything overly modern in it either. I'm not even sure I know what modern is anyway, seeing as most 'modern' bands are just rehashing the older sound anyway.

  23. Just listening to the song and am not blown away. I think the last time I was truly blown away by any Maiden songs was Clansman on Virtual XI. Everything since then has been ok, but just sounds so generic/formulaic. Cant say this song is particularly special or hooky. Shame really, as I love most of the Maiden stuff right up to the point where Bruce returned, then it all just washes over me.
