  1. I remember buying one of her tapes years ago (something like Speed metal Beethoven, or something like that). God it was awful.
  2. The guy actually has a decent sense of humour. On his twitter page, he initially announce the Vah Halen track as being Hot for teacher, then said "Only joking". Sure that ruffled a few devouts feathers. Are these people who are complaining, honestly saying that they have never listened to an artist who isnt a christian band singing about christianity? I remember how many of them pissed and moaned when they did Against the law, saying they had turned their back on their faith.
  3. Some tracks revealed on Michaels Twitter: On fire (Van Halen) Over the mountain (Ozzy) Breaking the law (Priest) Set me free (Sweet) Blackout (Scorpions) The trooper (Maiden)
  4. Hi mate. I do have it somewhere and I will do my best this afternoon to track it down to send you. In short, no it's not worth buying the Jap version for. Yes, it is a good song but not one of their best. Well worth having, though. If someone doesn't beat me to it I'll track it down for you. If I recall correctly it sounds more like a debut b-side than 'Screw It' b-side... I think. Interestingly, this song was also on the b-side of the I still think about you, 12" single. For some reason though, on the CD single they replaced it with a live cover of Rock n roll hoochie koo. I have both, and it always pissed me off that when I bought the cd single a few years later, that they didnt put that song on it and maybe include the other song as an extra, or get rid of one of the other two songs from it.
  5. I really want this album, but bloody lost my job in Jan and cant even afford to scratch my arse right now.
  6. Great fucking album...nuff said!
  7. I think that pretty much sums it up. Simple fact is, I cannot be the only seller that pulled out after October, so thats lost profit for eBay straight away. Add to that the sellers that went with higher starting prices to cover the costs, and then didnt sell the items as it put buyers off, then you are talking huge lost profits for eBay. Of course they would never admit that, but obviously, if it was such a raging success, why would they go back to the old way?
  8. I think I said it before, and certainly said it about the D2 disc, I dont see any issues with the production on this album. I listen to it on my PC, my stereo and on my MP3 player through earphones, and it sounds all kinds of awesome. If not for the Steel Panther disc, this would have been my top album of last year, without a doubt. Ignoring the silly piano ditty at the end, which means the album ends on a whimper rather than a bang, there is not a bad song on this disc. The first two tracks are absolute killers, and set the tone for what is the best thing they have done since Pull. I've always liked Winger, but would never classify them as one of my top bands, but Pull really blew me away back when it came out, and Karma did exactly the same thing. I intitally said this one was second to Pull, but now I'm not so sure, as I think that its probably equal to it, if not slightly ahead.
  9. Ok, so aint been to eBay since the whole enforced free postage thing, but decided to check things out today and saw people selling comics (ie a media item that was affected) with postage charges, so decided to check out the announcements section, and found this: What that says to me is that either they got so many complaints that they realised it was a mistake, or that so many sellers stopped selling that eBays profits actually dropped rather than went up. They try to put positive spin on it by saying buyers were happy (no shit, of course they were), but they obviously are not mentioning that there were probably less buyers though as less people were selling.
  10. I was at the Hammersmith show that was recorded for the 7 days live DVD and album, and the band were fucking great. I've not seen DeVille play in person, but I have heard enough of his live tracks to know he is far from the worst guitarist out there. And to anyone who says stuff like, style of substance, thats just pure bollocks of the highest order.

  12. I tried switching to eBid last year, as it is far cheaper to sell on there, but the customer base is tiny compared to eBay, and I got no sales. eBid prices are great, as even as a basic seller, you can list items for free, and the fee they take at the end is only 3% compared to eBays 10%, but if you pay a one off fee (its normally something like £99, but they seem to often do it for half price) and then you never have to pay any fees ever again. It has its own payment system, but if you want, you can link it up to accept PayPal as well, if you want. I may try it again this year, as I really cannot see how I can possibly survive selling on eBay.
  13. Cant say thats one of Brets best tunes, but its still better than a lot of shit thats put out these days. Oh and as for anyone who says Poison was pussy shit or that their ballads were wimpy, then so was 90% of the hair metal then, as they were no lighter than most of the scene. In fact, how many bands were described as sounding like Poison, back in the day, and still do?
  14. Oh, and as for the initial question about the UK seller listing in dollars. I'd assume he has listed the items on the US site to get round the postage rule.
  15. Yes, this is a UK only thing. It started with CDs, DVDs and Games etc, but has since moved onto comics, books and magazines as well. As has been said, to continue to list and sell cheap items (most of my comics start at 99p or less) and give free postage, leaves the seller out of pocket. Two reasons they have done this, which they will not admit, is not only getting a bigger final valuation fee, but also a listing fee as well (99p items are free to list). I contacted eBay and told them how disgusting it was, as they are just trying to get more money out of its sellers, or is gonna put people out of business, so of course I got a standard bullshit reply from them about moving in line with other online companies (I'm sorry, but since when does eBay sell anything? There was me thinking it was us doing the selling, so how nice of them to make that decision on our behalf). One thing they said is that you only have to list the first postage option as free, and can list alternate choices. They said that a good idea is to list the free option as collection only. Thats all well and good, but how many people will not pay attention to the fact that free postage means they have to collect? No way can anyone afford to offer free postage without upping there prices, so eBays whole idea that free postage encourages people to bid, when quite frankly the starting bid price is gonna put people off, is bloody ridiculous.
  16. Well, you're entitled to your opinion... no matter how wrong it may be. Seriously though, while it is not the strongest track on the CD, it is by no means "awful" by any stretch of the imagination. -Dan Not if it had been sung by the BACKSTREET BOYS or maybe one of those Idol Winners/Losers (Bo Bice or Adam Lambert maybe), but when you're talking about one of the top names in Melodic Rock then surely they can do better than a standard/mediocre journeyman-type song.... That pop-song sounds really out-of-place alongside killer Melodic Rock tunes like "All For Love" IMO. I guess I just don't get that. Personally, I loved Jaded heart's cover of Backstreet Boys' "Larger Than Life" as well as some of the other pop covers that hard rock and metal bands have done. *shrug* Their cover of Paid my dues is probably one of my fave Jaded Heart tunes, and I dont even like the original version.
  17. You use Internet Explorer, thats your problem.
  18. Talk about an oxymoron... NO CHANCE the dude who produced Puddle Of Mud and Saliva is up to producing a combo between Out Of The Cellar and Invasion. This is nothing more than a marketing gimmick from Pearcy to push his project tot he Ratt-hangers-on (like me). Just tell us the truth, Stephen, you, like Jon Bon Jovi, are un-interested in your 80's roots. It's okay, I have Out Of The Cellar and can spin it anytime I want. Just don't package a piece of shit in a tuxedo and try to pass it off as anything more than that. Obviously I have little to no faith this one will be worth the price of a free download onto a cheap CD-R. On the other hand, I, perhaps more than anyone on this site, hope to be proven 100% wrong. Unfortunately, other than Def Leppard's Euphoria my batting average is pretty darn good... which is actually sucks! Wow mate, that's extremely harsh without having heard the thing yet. Ratt never has and hopefully never will have anything in common with any of those bands musically, and just because a producer has produced those bands there's no reason for him to make Ratt sound like them too. I'd like to think that after being in the game for as long as they have, Ratt will sound how they want to sound. I have to admit, that even though all those bands suck, all their albums are very well produced (it's the bands who write the bad songs - not the producer), so if anything I'm happy Ratt have a good producer on board and this album will at least sound excellent. Now it's up to Ratt to write the good tunes. If what Ty says is right, I'm amazingly excited. Based on their recent live gig in Sydney I thought they'd opt for the fast paced less melodic route, but a cross between 'Reach for the sky' and my favourite Ratt album, 'Detonator', sounds like magic to me. I agree on the producer statement. The Taking Dawn disc was produced by the guy that worked many Nu Metal bands but they don't sound Nu Metal at all. You only have to look at the wide variety of styles a guy like Michael Wagener has worked on, to see that the producer doesnt have to change the sound of a band. I mean, does Megadeth sound like Poison? Does Extreme sound like Motley Crue?
  19. Really? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silver-Spoons-Brok...7343&sr=1-1 seemed pretty easy to me
  20. I fucking hope not. In fact I hope I never have to hear that bloke sing again.
  21. I'm not talking about the music, it's storyline concept of a band on the verge of success goes missing for 20 odd years and comes back to life to save the hair metal hungry world, THAT'S the blatant rip off. Strictly speaking tho, Fozzy did that story first.
  22. Totally backed They already said the tour will take a few years to complete.
