  1. So does anyone know if Scott Cupp exists or was this all a scam by RSC? Hate to reignite this but after receiving an email 2 days ago from "Scott Cupp" asking me to click on a link, it does make me wonder.
  2. I received a spam email from someone by the name of "Scott Cupp" 2 days ago. Asking me to click on a suspicious link. Does make me wonder...
  3. Yeah, Toto isn't for everyone and I doubt they will make legions of new fans with this, but existing fans should be pleased with the results.
  4. Is this already out? No, not until March 20 I believe.
  5. Excellent album, their best release in ages, fans of Toto will be really happy with this I think.
  6. Agreed! WS play Burn better than Deep Purple. No doubt about that IMO. Mr. Big, Demon Drive...all better. Ah yeah I remember the Demon Drive version too....love that one.

  8. I have to disagree. Sometimes bands do these projects as much for themselves as they do for the fans. It's not to say they haven't got a good original album left in them, maybe this means a lot to DC. Much like the upcoming LA Guns blues thingy album...I despise the idea and so do a lot of fans but it has a lot of meaning for the band. And as for this WS Purple album, as stated by Mullethead, if that video is anything to go by, these will be some great covers.
  9. REO Speedwagon and The Baby's would be up there for me from 1980.
  10. I started a topic for this album in the 'Other Music Styles' section not realising that there already was this one. Only one spin so far but this is some pretty good stuff. I really liked their 'End of the Beginning' disc from back in '09. This one probably isn't better but it's hard to compare because it has been so long since I played the debut. Good solid album anyway, both heavy and melodic at times. I look forward to more spins soon.
  11. Wot u talkin bout ? Anyway I see why no one cares because there was already a topic about this album created amongst the 70,000 topics that have been created this month. Its about 12 pages down in the AOR/HR section. Things are getting pushed down this list fast on these forums now. It's good that every new release is getting a mention but maybe it's quantity over quality in some ways. Just a thought.
  12. I dunno, I get what people are saying but I always have time for DC and to be honest the above Stormbringer video is quite enjoyable.

  14. Meh. I don't really care what they do. Lost my attention long ago. A cross between Zep and White Stripes....sounds utterly awful. Pass.
  15. Apparently they have 10 EPs and 20 singles to their name as well. Surprising as I thought they were a fairly recent band. I can't comment on their music apart from the singles I've heard playing on radio and TV...but overall probably not for me.
  16. I like his old stuff and Red Rider, but not this.
  17. Some goodies from 1983. I really like Loverboy - Keep it Up and Orphan - Lonely at Night.
  18. Wow I never would have picked this as something you would be into mr karpet. Not knocking it or anything. It's a pretty harmless song from the so called "heartland rock" genre. Nothing bad to say about it. Doesn't get me excited though.
  19. Sounds not too bad, I only heard 'Unbroken' but would be interested to hear more.
  20. Absolutely ? Just to echo the other Garrison thread in the music videos section... I couldn't agree more. Those early Garrison songs are some of the best songs I have ever had the pleasure of hearing and are certainly IMO the best songs in existence that are in need of re recording and/or remastering. As Geoff noted the recent Garrison CD left off a whole bunch of their best songs. With a bit of polish and a better track selection, Garrison could release one of the best AOR / melodic hard rock CDs ever! Incredible songs guys!!!! There is definitely a LOT of interest in AOR & melodic rock circles surrounding Garrison so hopefully high quality recordings of all the tracks do surface some day. It would be criminal not to do these songs justice. And on a side note are their any more songs / demos out there that haven't been mentioned early in this thread? Oh and is there any old band pics or pics of the original demo cassettes to look at?Great work Garrison and it's really cool to hear your back playing. Cheers.
  21. I'm a fan too. Loved their first two albums though I missed their 3rd album. Have to pick up where I left off and check that one out.

  23. Lots of good ones to get your ears around, but I would recommend starting with:- Lights Out Obssession Strangers In The Night (Classic live album..utterly brilliant) The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent Ok thanks Jez. It's always good to have someone recommend a starting point for a band such as this whose discography is so big. Cheers.
  24. Can someone give a breakdown of their rating of each track from each of their favourite albums for 1989. Nah just kidding I love reading these lists but honestly I struggle to decide on favourite albums...just too many good ones.
