  1. A first-grade teacher, Ms. Brooks, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, 'Harry, what's your problem?' Harry answered, 'I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My sister is in the 3rd grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the 3rd grade too!' Ms. Brooks had had enough. She took Harry to the principal's office. While Harry waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms. Brooks he would give the boy a test. If he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the 1st grade and behave. She agreed. Harry was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test. Principal: 'What is 3 x 3?' Harry: '9.' Principal: 'What is 6 x 6?' Harry: '36.' And so it went with every question the principal thought a 3rd grader should know. The principal looks at Ms. Brooks and tells her, 'I think Harry can go to the 3rd grade.' Ms. Brooks says to the principal, 'Let me ask him some questions.' The principal and Harry both agreed. Ms. Brooks asks, 'What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?' Harry, after a moment: 'Legs.' Ms. Brooks: 'What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?' The principal wondered why would she ask such a question! Harry replied: 'Pockets.' Ms. Brooks: 'What does a dog do that a man steps in to?' Harry: 'Pants.' Ms. Brooks: What starts with a C, ends with a T, is hairy, oval, delicious and contains thin, whitish liquid?' Harry: 'Coconut.' The principal sat forward with his mouth hanging open. Ms. Brooks: 'What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?' The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer, Harry replied, 'Bubble gum.' Ms. Brooks: 'What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs?' Harry: 'Shake hands.' The principal was trembling. Ms. Brooks: 'What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means a lot of heat and excitement?' Harry: 'Firetruck' The principal breathed a sigh of relief and told the teacher, 'Put Harry in the fifth-grade, I got the last seven questions wrong
  2. Brother Firetribe - Heart Full Of Fire House Of Lords - Come To My Kingdom
  3. Backed backed and backed. Although I'd put the majority of the album in my fave tracks of 2008 in all honesty. Plus this... 'Atlanta' - Butch Walker 'Lost In The Sun' as well - awesome tune. And 'Thing For You'. DAVID COOK - Permanent Great song.
  4. Yeah, apart from the stupidly blatant fillers (tracks: 1,4,6,7,11, plus that horrible AC/DC cover) it's the one thing that kills this for me. I like the raspy tone but he has no range - compare him to the likes of David Cook or Bo Bice. I can see how you like a track like "Loaded & Alone" but the lyrics are real teenage - McFly or Busted - type stuff, though the tune is decent.... The only real difference being that Dave and Bo havent got ANY killer songs. 1,4,6,7,11 are all better than ANYTHING on any of their albums. Harsh..........but true. Plus how can you call 'Use Me' a filler. That song seriously kicks arse! 4, 6 and 7 are actually my least favourite too, but the only one I'd label a filler is 'Best is yet to come'. Like Glen says, 'Use me' is a monster and I actually really love 'Far from home'. Actually, Tim, surprised you haven't been a bit more receptive to 'Thing for you'. As far as I'm concerned, that and 'Last kiss goodbye' crucify 'Without you'. And yeah, agree they're better than anything from Cook and Bo. Except 'Best is yet to come'. Well I love 'Best Is Yet To Come' so
  5. We had our Nuchal scan yesterday.....took 1 hour!! Bloody amazing bit of kit that is. Super excellent scan images. Glad to report alls well with the 2 littluns!!
  6. Glen

    Proper Footie 2008/9

3rd Jan........the big one. Chelsea vs The Shrimpers. I predict 0-1.
  7. Dont Fuck With Me - Love/Hate
  8. Thanks Glen, the christmas one`s were getting a little monotonous I was wishing it was January already
  9. Yeah and disagree with them entirely!!!!! Cheers mate.....all quality (almost)
  10. As I said in that same thread, Cauterize are inspired by Green Day (who I despise). Green Day's next album is going to be power-pop. Another Yellowcard?? Who knows.

  12. 5,000....fuck me youve been motoring. All quality my friend (except the 250 about Christmas )
  13. Easy stand out moment for me............. Love/Hate on the 'Black Out' tour @ The Marquee club in London ('91 ??) The music from 'Tranquiliser' (later turned into the song 'Tranquiliser' on 'Wasted In America') with flashing strobes straight into 'Black Out In The Red Room'................. We almost died!
  14. Backed...although I quite like 'Light On'. Good ballad for me.
  15. 'Life' and 'Heaven (Its Not Here)' by Sturm Und Drang have got to be up there. Both killer tracks.
  16. In case everyone has forgotten! 2008 is the year of overrated c.d.'s: METALLICA-DEATH MAGNETIC Its their best albums in years for me. I love it. Kicks arse from beginning to end!
  17. If you like this you will love the new disc, 'Take it to the limit'. As I said elsewhere, this is my fourth favourite ballad off the disc, and that's saying a lot as I love this song. It's in amazing company, though. Cheers Geoff Ignore him, this is the best ballad on the disc. In fact it's easily the best song this band have written to date (though "Lost in the Sun" is pretty close). That said, if you can put up with the whiny vocalist then I'd say the album would be right up your street.... Thanks Tim Tim is, of course, a freak. It's nowhere near the best they've written... but a very good song regardless. Agreed. out of the songs theyve released this year the following are all definitely better IMO Loaded & Alone Lost In The Sun One Night Stand Live For Today Heaven Sent Runnin In The Rain Thing For You. That said, the ballad is pretty awesome. Great band, great album. & as for the vocalist being 'whiny'??? I dont get that at all. Ho hum.
  18. The latest news on Beatiful Mess is that it will be released in Europe by Frontiers Records on February 20th 2009 w/ bonus tracks. So the track listing will be: 21st Century Cry Me A River Gin & Tonic Sky Hey Broken Man Mountain Our Song Eye Bring It Home Testify Wherever You Wanna Go Kick It Heart Starts Healing (Bonus Track) Take U Over With Me (Bonus Track) 21st Century and Gin & Tonic Sky (videos - iPod ready versions) There will also be a DVD included with videos for '21st Century', 'Gin And Tonic Sky', 'Hey', and a piano version of '21st Century'. There will also be some footage from Firefest in October 2008. Apparantly there is a bootleg floating around on E-Bay with a different track listing and doesn't include the DVD so be careful. I'm still loving this album and 'Our Song' is right up there as probably my fav song of the year. Excellent, I have been waiting for the release date on this for a while. Sounds like a good packege. Will be getting for sure. That is an absolute brilliant package. An essential purchase for 09 IMO. I feared for a while that the FF DVD would not be included......it is now so thats great - brilliant gig that was! & 2 bonus tracks....man am I stoked about that too.
  19. Our fuckin new TV has turned up - fuckin yay!!!!
  20. Wow, great news mate. With our expectant twins we'll have 3 too..........I know exactly what you mean about a bigger house LOL.
  21. Wow, I saw Anberlin in concert 2 years ago... Edgefest in Buffalo with 12 other bands. I had to take my daughter since she was under 16 at the time. Out of the 12 bands, I only remember a few and Anberlin was one of them. Rockin' band! Yep great band.......great new album. You should check it out.
