Am I the only twat listening to this?? I know they're only teenagers but this album rules. The second half of the album in particular is killer - check out the fantastic 'Life' (one of my fav songs at the moment - great chorus....almost AOR) and mega ballad 'Heaven (Its Not Here)'......killer chorus. The only song I dont like is the ballad 'A Million Nights' which stinks like a Scorpions Z side, with a thick accent to boot (accent on nearly all other tracks in fine for me). I think it would appeal to Leverage, Poodles, Avantasia, Eclipse....even Brother Firetribe fans.

Sadly, there is not even a trace of balls on that one. Still, good songs. What just about saves it is that the newer songs are generally better than the re-records.

Really? I don't think that at all. How old would you say the Metallica sounds? Well Metallica's stuff is pretty timeless, apart from the first 3 albums you could never really tell which year they came from. But GnR is a very 90's album, with some Industrial-sounding parts (like on the horrible "Shacklers Revenge") & a lower tuned guitar. I don't hate it, in fact the vocals are surprisingly great, but it has so many slower/wierd sections & intros & production effects that the album as a whole just never gets up any momentum IMO.... Backed, whereas the Metallica kicks arse from beginning to end IMO.

Definitely deserves a place - great album.

Metallica for me by an absolute country mile. Death Metallic is an awesome return to form for them and for me pisses on the GnR offering in every way shape and form.
