  1. Simple Plan - s/t Ive been listening to this album all week as Im seeing them on Saturday and it really is excellent. The only tracks i dont really like are 'Time To Say Goodbye' (too throw away like their sound from the previous album) and 'Generations' (average compared to the rest, but still good). All the other tracks are great, esp the 3 ballads which are all excellent.....'Save You', 'I Cant Wait Forever' and esp 'No Love' are still 3 of the best ballads Ive heard all year.
  2. ? What about Dexter, Heroes, 4400, Terminator (Sarah Connor Chronicles), Battlestar Galactica (awesome), Spooks (you probably dont get quality programmes like this is OZ!), The Unit & of course 24 (the best programme ever IMO) etc etc...............loads of good programmes on the box at mo.
  3. Yeah, the Kessler one's a sneaky one. Great disc. Just out of curiosity, did you like the Forever The Sickest Kids disc? Simple Plan & Safety Suit were the movers Not heard 'Forever The Sickest Kids'

Stanfour - Wild Life (I think Cook will miss out - it's good but not so that it should displace any of the current top 10 modern).
  12. David Cook - Light On (again.......prob my fav off the disc, followed by 'Permanent')
  13. me too.........this is definitely going to move up my list, possibly even above Anberlin to sit nicely behind the big 5. Its that good. np Safety Suit - Life Left To Go Kesslar - I Know Your Voice
  14. Fantastic disc - I still love that album (they are pretty poor live tho )
  15. .........PS, anyone interested they are all on their myspace page.
  16. Mate I love all 4. Closer To You - great ballad Last Stand - awesome ballad My Derailment - i love this song - that solo kills So What If You Go - another killer rocker If they can continue this quality for a whole album, then I cant see anything beating this to No 1 modern rock album for 2009. Even Roach.
  17. I've been meaning to ask how you went with that Disturbed CD. I notice it's not mentioned there but I remember you going wild about it when it was released. Did it fade for you too? I remember thinking it was okay-ish on first listen but I didn't play past the third or fourth song last time. Never been a fan of Disturbed. As for the Disciple comments... I agree with Glen. You heathen! It's still way up there for me. The only problem is that I went through a few weeks during the summer where I pretty much listened to it to death... over and over and over... which burned me out a bit, so I've deliberately NOT been listening to it and will revisit the disc before making my list. I seriously don't know how I'm going to trim down and rank 5 CDs for the year. Ack! -Dan Wes and I were talking about that earlier...it's going to be nearly impossible to select a top five this year I'm actually pretty much locked in with my MHR and "modern" lists separate. Trying to blend them together would be hell, though (which is why I never bother). Although I think only Rockarma could penetrate the best 5 "modern" releases of this year... Other way round for me - only SOTY and Hinder would penetrate my top 5 MHR. No idea where tho????!
  18. I'd never heard of this fella, but Geoff's views are similar to mine. "Permanent" is an amazing song, with the rest ranging from very good to slightly dull. I'd probably pick this up on the strength of the few good songs & his voice as well. Shit I love this guys vocals, what a range, he just needs some more consistent material. Good stuff though.... Yeah its way too polished and safe for me. Nice album tho. I agree the guy has a great voice - I watched the recent series he won and he can pull it off singing live too. Im glad a few have mentioned the song 'Permanent'....what a stunning ballad that is - almost brings a tear to the eye. Such emotion.
  19. It is a GREAT album for sure. It might even end up in my top five for the year I know for sure that the Whitesnake will still be #1 Great album.
  20. One Step Into Paradise - Pink Cream 69
  21. Trivial (persuit) Really Tests Your Intelligence J Y J Y J
