  1. I received my copies of TNA and Sandra Dee yesterday. I've posted samples of all tracks over on the main site: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=5889&CDName=TNA&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=5890&CDName=Visions+of+Pain&Letter=A The Sandra Dee is ok, but doesn't hit on all cylinders for me. The TNA, on the other hand, is damned good! -Dan
  2. Ummm... for those of us not fluent in Walmartian, what is "D Day"? I'm pretty sure it's no longer storming the beaches at Normandy. P.S. Zoning?
  3. Heh. It screams 1980s porn star. I'm kinda ambivalent at what the Eagles have done. Some potential, but nothing OMFG good or bad. Is it true that Atlanta gave Cleveland 11 draft picks, their starting backfield, $47 million, and rights to the Atlanta Airport? Or maybe it just seems that way...
  4. Avoid seller chuff000 like the FUCKING PLAGUE! He is a grade A scammer. Back in 2005 I bought a boxed set from him and paid the invoice. He then sent me an email demanding another $11 in shipping above what was in the listing and invoice (this is LONG before eBay limited what you could charge for shipping in the media category, so a seller could list whatever was needed). I said that I was not willing to pay shipping costs not listed in the original listing. He starts sending me profanity-ridden emails in broken English (I still have them), calling me a fag and everything else under the sun. The problem was that he had my initial payment. So after a few weeks I file an item not received claim with PayPal. Through PayPal he said he was "resending" (HA!) the merchandise, this time with tracking, signature, etc. I smelled a rat. So when the parcel arrived, I opened it in front of a USPS supervisor to witness the contents. It was an empty jewel case. I had the postal supervisor write an affadavit on USPS letterhead attesting to the contents of the parcel, and he signed it and datestamped it. Ultimately I was able to get my money back, but it was a royal pain in the ass. Avoid this fucker.
  5. Not to sound overly cynical, but with all the attention being paid to the disasters overseas and all the charity/fundrasising money being directed over there, I hope that those affected by disasters here in the U.S. don't get lost in the shuffle as is all too frequently the case... Seems like there's always money to be sent outward when people suffering at home are left wanting. I guess there's no publicity in it. But like I said, I'm a cynic. Stay safe.
  6. Can't wait... glad to see there's such continuity in the casting. Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf Andy Serkis returns as Gollum Christopher Lee as Saruman Cate Blanchett as Galadriel I didn't realize it was going to be 2 movies though... The video at the link below is 10 minutes long, but worth watching. http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/04/14/peter-jackson-hobbit-video/
  7. It was #5 in my top 5 of 2010...
  8. Oops... I checked out a few of the samples and thought it was just a compilation of old tunes... didn't realize they had recorded them.
  9. It's worth more than I'm willing to pay. It would be cool for me, but not essential, as I'm not a diehard HS collector.
  10. Talk about turning misery into ecstasy. Opening day in Philadelphia against Houston. Roy Halliday got roughed up by the Astros for 4 runs while the Phillies offense was anemic. The Astros led 4-0 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. The Phillies got 2 back, but were still down 4-2 going into the bottom of the 9th inning. ... and then the wheels came off. The Phillies smacked 6 hits, including a walk-off bloop single by rookie John Mayberry, Jr. Woohoo!
  11. If you want to get the bonus tracks without having to buy an extra CD or import I would recommend buying the bonus tracks from Amazon. 99 cents each. That's what I did to get the above tracks.
  12. I'd really like to get your take on this one after a few thorough listens, being that you really liked Issa.
  13. Yep! I've seen every episode this far. Way cool show. Serinda Swan being hot doesn't hurt either...
  14. Just a quick follow-up, as I've been getting multiple PMs and emails from HH members interested in this disc. I'm going to try something new here at HH: The seller has agreed to auction the CD through Heavy Harmonies here on the forum. I've worked out a system that I believe will be fair to all parties concerned, provide transparency to both buyer and seller, and HH will get a commission from the seller for the effort. If it works out well, I may try to implement a more formalized auction-style mechanism. I will be posting the formal terms and conditions tonight when I get home. Because this is a "work in progress", if someone sees anything in the terms that they feel is either unfair or exploitable, let's talk about it. I will state up front that while the seller is willing to sell this disc internationally, there are countries/regions that he does not feel comfortable shipping to, which is his prerogative. At the very least it will be cool that an HH member gets to buy it! -Dan
  15. I've deliberately held off on listening to more than the first 2 singles until my CD/DVD got here today, and am now listening through for the first time. I can see how hardcore WT fans might be disappointed with the CD... *BUT* if anything, it's probably the most "radio friendly" or mainstream material they've ever released. It easily fits more within Heavy Harmonies than any of their other releases. Over the past 10 years they've been progressing from metal to rock, and this just continues the progression. That said, it's still WT and it kicks ass. I'll be replaying this over and over for the next several weeks. Here's a full-length hi-rez (320kbps) track that in my opinion epitomizes their shift closer to HH styling: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/wt-iron.mp3 The chorus is just a monster payoff! Crank it loud!
  16. Very cool. I'll have to pick this one up. -Dan
  17. ??? Must have me confused with someone else. I've paid upwards of $200 for a couple of the discs in my soundtrack collection, and over $100 for a few in my Maynard collection.
  18. Best. Ballad. Ever. (well maybe not, but it's in the top 5). -Dan
  19. Sanctuary of course, although Dreaming Neon Black and Dead Heart are quite good CDs.
  20. Well, according to the HS website, if its the image below, it's a bootleg. The artwork I'm referring to is this: Interestingly enough, the guy sent me closeups of the inner ring of the CD, and it has the words "HAREM SCAREM" as part of the inner chapter ring, as you would expect to see on a pressed disc. It's not after-market engraving.
