  1. Holy fuck, was that bad. How much money was wasted on shooting, recording, mixing, and producing this POS? Acting: bad Costumes: bad Choreography: bad Script: bad Special effects: bad Vocalist: bad Musicians: bad Lyrics: bad I don't think there's been that much suckitude concentrated in one place in the history of the world. Yeesh...
  2. ... as I start prepping my best-of list. There was a LOT of damned good music released this year, especially in the area of "traditional" AOR/melodic rock (not so much on the modern hard rock front). There is just a boatload of exceptionally good material. Some of it I haven't even gotten to listen to yet. Anyone else think that 2011 had more than the usual number of very good releases? -Dan
  3. The video is ho hum, but the album is a cracker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO3CPImgu1s

  6. Spammers deserve a nice toasty spot in hell. Ever since I implemented the antispam measures here on the board, they're not getting through to y'all, but I'm still dealing with 5-15 posts per day as the morons try to get through. Maybe this will save them some time: DEAR DOUCHEBAG SPAMMER SCUMBAGS, POSTS FROM NEW ACCOUNTS ARE AUTOMATICALLY MODERATED BY ME. YOUR IDIOTIC SPAM POSTS WILL NOT BE SEEN BY THE MEMBERSHIP, SO STOP WASTING YOUR AND MY TIME, FUCKERS. P.S. HAVE A NICE DAY, YOU STUPID FUCKNUTS. Grr.... damned twatwaffles.
  7. Happy T-day, you turkeys! *gobble* *gobble*
  8. For modern rock fans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96uGXeCrPAo&feature=related
  9. Or you could listen to samples of all of the tracks here. http://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=548&CDName=Show+Me+How+to+Live&Letter=A The CD and the 2-DVD set of 1996/Closing the Chapter come out Nov. 29 here in the U.S.
  10. Samples from all tracks of the following added: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=548&CDName=Show+Me+How+to+Live&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=487&CDName=We+Are+the+Brokenhearted&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=2564&CDName=In+the+Present+-+Live+from+Lyon&Letter=A
  11. I'll be surprised if Ozzy will be able to find his way to the front of the stage...
  12. Well if ya want I can try and dig up a musician to come here and rant about his albums being on torrent sites... that seems to get the residents of other boards snarling and biting. Hmm... Michael Eden doesn't have a gig at the moment...
  13. While "Eventually" is a solid ballad, I'm digging the second cut "Look At Me Now" from 2009 a lot more than the new one. Deets? album, label, availability? -Dan
  14. Sorry man, I don't hear it. Tony's vox are no worse than many other Scandinavian rock/metal lead vocalists. His accent is a bit heavy, but that's certainly nothing new to the scene. Is it the accent or the timbre/pitch of his vocals that bother you? Candidly, I'll take his vocals over Udo, Tom Keifer, and all of the "gravelly" lead vocalists every day of the week and twice on Sundays. EDIT: I see your previous post that it's the high-pitched vocals that you don't like. Since that's his "claim to fame" as it were stylistically, he probably pushes that more than usual, so you notice it more. But how is that any worse than Jim Gillette, Mike Matjevic, Justin Hawkins, or other high-pitched vocalists?... or do those not fit your bill either? It may be just be a style thing: you don't like high-octave vocals. -Dan
  15. Just added sound samples for all tracks from the following: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=6029&CDName=Half+Past+Midnight&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=6028&CDName=Swedish+Hitz+Goes+Metal&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=6027&CDName=The+Magnificent&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=1573&CDName=III&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=844&CDName=Marilyn&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=1259&CDName=Undeniable&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=6026&CDName=Rhyme+and+Reason&Letter=A
  16. Another cover just completely dripping with Awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSg2Ee4i-_g
  17. Listening to this now. Hope to have samples up for all tracks over the weekend. Nothing particularly revolutionary or innovative (then again, what in our genres really are any more?), but masterfully executed. Some absolute gems of choruses, just as one would expect from Scandi AOR.
  18. Hmmm.... you'd think a guy would get the hint after a while... Seriously though, I've not seen that behavior at this end.
  19. Anyone else watching this NLCS game tonight? It's 9-4 in the middle of the 3rd inning. So much for pitching dominating the game. Even though the Cardinals offed my Phillies, I hope they BURY the Brewers. I hate those thugs. The last thing I want to see is another occurrence of Nyjer Morgan dropping ghetto signs and F-bombs all over the airwaves. So... Go Cards!
  20. I'm no expert on racing, but I've seen the crash footage and watched some of the discussion online since the crash: 1. This track was simply not designed for Indycar, the number of cars on the track, and the speeds they attain. Many are saying it was a very poor track choice. 2. It wasn't the solid walls that were the cause. His car went airborne and went above the barriers, hitting the fence above. Plenty of other vehicles hit the solid barriers and those drivers walked away. Other than a complete car redesign, I don't know how this could have been prevented. Sad. Young guy (33).
  21. Ok, that Spice Girls cover is just fucking amazing. I know zero about the Spice Girls, but this version is a pretty damned good song in its own right. Starting at about 3:40, Tommy hits some notes that Jim Gillette would be proud of...
  22. Just got the promo download for this album, "Swedish Hitz Goes Metal" which is all Swedish pop covers (ABBA/Roxette/Ace of Base), done rock/metal style. Not only is Tommy Reinxeed one BIG motherfucker (puts Meat Loaf to shame) but this boy can flat out SING, damnit! Some seriously impressive range. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHc2SdtZxmo&feature=related And here he is pulling it off live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1IW9zPh4M&feature=related Not on this album, but a pretty damn good cover of Survivor's Burning Heart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aboKKe6ZwHU&feature=related And covering Bonnie Tyler's Holding Out for a Hero: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sISBPah38bQ&feature=related And covering the Spice Girls... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GecO6amHZ18&feature=related
  23. Shut up, I'm in mourning. The Philly bats picked a horrible time to go into a slump. Then again, offensively this wasn't the team of several years ago. The stellar pitching covered up major offensive weakness over the course of the season. *sigh*
  24. I can't figure out what exactly he's trying to say. He rambles and muddies the "press release" with metaphors rather than just saying things point blank.
