  1. Why can't you give a refund through PayPal? The ability to refund through PayPal is not dependent upon the status of the transaction at eBay. You just go to the original transaction page in PayPal and issue the refund from there. Fees are reversed, no problem. The only time you cannot issue a refund through PayPal is if the 45-day (60 day?) window has expired. -Dan
  2. Still 2010 here, at least for another 2 hours. Me, I'm partyin' hard with the 3 cats sleeping next to, above, and behind my computer.... Quite a bit different from age 20. Happy New Year yadda yadda yadda. -Dan
  3. Hrmm... I'm of mixed emotions on this one. On the one hand, digital has become a valid disribbution medium, but on the other it's not a tangible, physical item, which is kinda what the whole collecting mindset revolves around. It's not an actual release... really. Here's a question: Do industry sales charts include digital-only releases with physical media or do they have their own separate chart? Then there's the mechanics of listing those items. While some have "artwork" created by the band, some do not. Do we come up with a generic "DIGITAL" image to take the place of cover art for those that don't have it? One thing that I don't like about digital-only releases is that they seem to spawn home-grown entrepreneurs selling CDRs of the download on eBay under the guise of being a real release. That ends up muddying the waters... Good discussion though. -Dan
  4. I'm guessing you can't pick that stuff up at the local Wal-Mart...
  5. Meh. She was so much hotter before she decided to destroy her face and become Angelina Jolie. The pre-plastic surgery was MUCH finer.
  6. Well, there's no reason to have a shitty attitude about it.
  7. Well... this thread has taken an interesting turn. Not that I should be surprised or anything.
  8. I wouldn't go that far. They still have issues that need to be addressed. Their bullpen is still weak, and their offensive production was down last year. They've lost Werth, who was an excellent clutch player for them. Only time will tell whether Dominic Brown will be an effective replacement. It's their offense that concerns me, especially since the team is getting older. -Dan
  9. And it would have been any different had he signed with the Yankees for more money?
  10. Cliff Lee turned down 6 years and $138 million offered by the Yankees to accept 5 years $100 million from the Phillies. Apparently both he and his wife really liked their time with Philly, and he likes the guys and the clubhouse environment. Talk about a dream starting lineup: 1. Roy Halliday 2. Cliff Lee 3. Roy Oswalt 4. Cole Hamels Damn. -Dan
  11. Just say no to WoW. I should know, I went through a phase of playing it pretty heavily. It's loads of fun, the possibilities are endless, and it will steal your soul and free time like nothing else. I've been taking a break from it for about 3 months now, and just need to stay away. Seriously, it burns time like you can't imagine... -Dan
  12. Listen to the album in its entirety a few times. It will grow on you. Coup de Grace is still up there though... -Dan
  13. Yeesh.... can you say "bitch on a stick"? I'd use this one:
  14. Well, last night saw Vick come down to earth a bit, although there was a lot that wasn't his fault. There were a couple of completely fucked-up drops on the part of Eagle receives. Jason Avant, WTF??? That was horrific. The Eagles should have been leading 21-3 at the half, not 13-3. Still, a win is a win... -Dan
  15. Easy man, I know you're upset, but I think you misunderstood what he was saying. He was just speculating that it might have been random crime due to all the recent drug-related problems in the southwest. There's been a lot of innocent-victim random crime down there as of late. What used to be strictly relegated to the other side of the border has been making incursions into the U.S. It's a dangerous place to be. I don't think he meant anything other than that. -Dan
  16. From now until Dec. 24, use the promo code XMAS2010 and receive a 10% discount. Also, keep in mind that all orders of 6 or more CDs ship FREE worldwide! http://stormspell.bigcartel.com/
  17. http://thestorm.dk/ Vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XabpSQinqUw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XunYyCzVv00 Apparently they had at least one prior album, which I now need to track down. Vid from previous album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3JowljI7oI
  18. Sarcasm fail. What you seem to fail to grasp is that it's not so much what you are saying that repeatedly gets you in trouble, but rather HOW you choose to express yourself. And lest you think that I have a beef with you, it's only when I've gotten multiple complaints from other members and/or moderators that action has been taken. Obligatory on-topic content: This weekend will be a tougher test, as I think that NY has a better defense than Washington does. One game doth not a career make, no matter how exciting that one game was to watch. Vick needs to perform consistently for the remainder of the season before conclusions can be drawn. Some of the media claims for Vick as MVP and that the Eagles are now going to the Super Bowl are WAY over the top. Let's see what happens... this might have been a single game fluke. -Dan
  19. Take the vocals from The Bangles, Bananarama, Go-Gos, The Corrs, or Wilson-Philips, and set them to modern hard rock/metal instrumentation, and you get this. Been listening the heck out of it for the past few weeks. Rather than give away who it is, here are two tracks to (1) get your opinion of, and (2) do you think the style is appropriate for HH? http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/fem1.mp3 http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/fem2.mp3 -Dan
  20. I think we all were outraged when the initial allegations came to light. The assumption (for the most part) at the time was that he would skate and get off free, like too many professional athletes do. However, he was convicted and did his time. You can argue that the sentence was too lenient, but that is not Vick's fault; that's either a problem with the laws in place, or the dealmakers on both sides. Given that professional sports has already set the precedent that convicted murderers are allowed back on the field, why shouldn't Vick be given the same opportunity? From all reports, he appears to have turned his life around off the field, and is making a conscious effort to make the best of the opportunity given him. Watch his interviews and press conferences now and compare them to ones he did in Atlanta. There's a level of contrition and humility there now that was not there before, and you don't see the swagger and braggadocio that WAS there before. Granted, all it takes is the next news report, Deadspin.com, National Enquirer, etc. to completely upset the apple cart, but indications are he's made progress. -Dan
