  1. Very Nickelbackish. Cute video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29RnY0H7cj4
  2. I tried adding both of those userIDs to my blocked bidder list and got a message saying they do not exist...
  3. Dan, what is the new id, so I can make sure I have blocked it as well? thanks! By new I meant "windsoreyes2" (as opposed to the original "windsoreyes"). -Dan
  4. Actually, I hadn't noticed. Is the track you are referring to listed on the disc as a "radio mix", "radio remix", or "radio edit"? I would expect only shortening on the last but possibly different orchestration/mix on the first two. -Dan
  5. Well shit. Guess who just did a buy-it-now on one of my listings. I'd forgotten to block the new ID. He's paid. Should I try and ship the CD, or just refund and take my neg on eBay now rather than waiting... Damn it.
  6. Happy (belated) 4th of July. Stand up and salute!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxmYLAd7RH4
  7. Mike, If you believe this person is going to pull a fast one on return, here is what you need to do (it's easier if you have a post office box where you have everything shipped to rather than a home address): 1. If you are picking the parcel up at the post office, do NOT exit the building. Insist upon opening the parcel in front of a postal supervisor to witness the contents of the parcel. If you receive the parcel somewhere other than the post office, do NOT open it until you are in the presence of the supervisor. 2. If the package contents are NOT what you sent to the buyer, have the postal supervisor write an affadavit on postal letterhead stating what WAS in the box, along with their contact information. have them sign and datestamp the letter with the postal handstamp cancel. Have the supervisor be specific. "a CD" or "a broken CD" is not adequate. They need to say what the title of the cd in the box was and its condition, i.e., something that directly refutes the merchandise and condition listed in the PayPal transaction. 3. Submit that letter to PayPal via fax. 4. Follow up via phone with PayPal regularly. This has worked for me personally. While the postal supervisor cannot attest to what SHOULD have been in the box, they CAN say what was actually in there. -Dan
  8. Bit of a Leppard vibe at the beginning. (Scenery ain't bad either.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6zqxYgjPCg
  9. LP version or extended accordion remix? That dude wails...
  10. Y'all should know by now... Andrew's reviews go to 11. Personally, I feel the new NR is ok, but nothing special. -Dan
  11. Damned catchy tune. Apparently out of St. Louis. Some of their stuff is poppier than this, but I like what I'm hearing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Co8r9nHto
  12. Way way cool classic AOR sound. -Dan
  13. Well DUH! When's the last time you heard a salesdweeb NOT talk down their competitors? And if you're talking to a vendor that sells all providors (like Radio Shack), they are going to push you away from the no-contract providors because they make more commission on Sprint/Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile sales than Virgin Mobile/Boost/Cricket/Tracphone/etc. Sprint is as nationwide as Verizon. Where would you be traveling that wouldn't have Sprint coverage? Even the small towns of Buttfuck, Illinois I can get coverage with Virgin Mobile. Yes it's true that VM has no roaming agreements, but how often do you make roaming calls? If you do, then no, VM probably isn't right for you, but I have yet to hit an area I couldn't make a call. -Dan
  14. http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=655180&GT1=28101 Dang. I'm officially an old fart. Columbo was a TV mainstay when I was growing up, along with the Rockford Files. Charlie's Angels, The Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Baretta... TV was so fucking cool in the 1970s and early 1980s.
  15. I missed any press on this. Wounded Bird has reissued virtually the entire Harem Scarem discography, including some items that were previously only available in Japan. B-Side Collection Ballads Believe (Special Edition) Big Bang Theory EP Collection Harem Scarem Live At The Siren Live Last Live Ones Mood Swings /If There Was A Time Rocks Rubber Rubber - Ultra Feel The Very Best Of Harem Scarem Voice Of Reason No remastering or new bonus tracks but nice prices.
  16. Hilarious, but NSFW... use headphones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGDm45niITI&feature=related

  18. I was with Sprint for 7+ years and walked away in December. I went the Virgin Mobile route. No contract, you buy the phone, jump ship any time you want. You can even vary your plan month to month, depending on anticipated usage. How much of a talker are you? I'm not, so I wanted to get by with the cheapest plan possible. I've got 300 minutes + unlimited texts + unlimited Internet for $25/month + tax (net $26.88/month). They have a 1200-minute plan for $40/month and unlimited for $60/month. VM uses Sprint's network. The phone I'm using is an LG Optimus V (Android 2.2). -Dan
  19. I'm probably the last person who should comment, as I'm not a "family person" in any way, shape or form. I haven't spoken with my father in over 5 years. That said, I'll agree with the majority. Worst case scenario: you can always walk away. Just guard yourself and don't get roped into any commitments by him or the girlfriend playing on emotion or obligation. -Dan
  20. Be forewarned though, while their look screams '80s Motley Crue, their sound doesn't. Don't get me wrong; I like it, but MC it ain't. -Dan
  21. You beat me to it. The new CD just came out today. $9.99 at Best Buy. Since I'd only ever heard one of the tracks off the first CD on Octane, I picked up both CDs today. I've added both of them to HH: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=5945&CDName=We+Stitch+These+Wounds&Letter=A http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=5945&CDName=Set+the+World+on+Fire&Letter=A Their first CD, which came out last year, is a cross between HIM and Avenged Sevenfold. The use of distorted/growling vocals part of the time is a bit offputting at times. I'm happy to say that those vocals are pretty much gone on the new CD. It is definitely a guitar-driven album. Here are a couple of hi-res tracks: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/bvb_loveisntalwaysfair.mp3 http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/bvb_rebellovesong.mp3 There's some filler, but overall I'm liking what I hear; am not all the way through the new CD yet. What's funny to me is that some reviewers are criticizing the new album for bring too "retro" and "80s", wishing they had kept the more Avenged Sevenfold sound, yet to me the move is in the right direction and makes it more HH-worthy. Go figure.
  22. Unfortunately the answer to both is "no". Not without a significant overhaul. -Dan
  23. 99% of the time, when someone tries to register and never gets the email, the culprit is spam filtering. You've got spam filtering done by the email software client, the email provider, some ISPs, and sometimes at points in between. -Dan
