Randy Piper's Animal-Violent New Breed..The Best WASP album never

released by WASP IMHO...Blackie Should Hook up with these guys...

You got ME curious about this one too, aMH1966, may have to check it out... I have Animal's last album (900 LB. STEAM) and it definitely had its moments, but what got me was how the singer sounded SO MUCH like Blackie that it bordered on outright plagiarism...despit that, it sounded to me like they had a lot of potential on 900 LB but weren't quite "there" yet if you know what I mean. Judging from your opinion on "Violent New Breed" should I assume that the band is finally "there?"

Now playing:

Not a damn thing... kid's napping and wife's on the phone... :(

EZ Livin' - After The Fire (awesome!! the only filler is the song "EZ Livin'", IMO...the rest is great)

Fahrenheit - Chain Reaction (stellar album, reminds me of Skid Row's S/T at times)

American Angel - EP '92 ("If Love Is So Blind" is one of my favourite songs of all time...)

Axel Rudy Pell - 'Mystica'

Wouldn't have pegged ya for an ARP fan, but then I thought Dr. F was mainly into sleaze/glam... :anon:

I think I have Alzheimers or something lately.... <_<

Night Ranger - The Best Of

Hey Pete, believe it or not I have his entire collection on either CD or CDR. I like the fact that he's reliable. You always know exactly what you're going to get from his albums: a few balls-to-the-wall tracks, which IMO are completely throw-away, then you'll get a ballad or 2 which are either epic and usually pretty bland, but then again you occasionally get a few gems. Then, on every disc, you always get anywhere from 3 to 5 killer riff-driven monsters in there. Some of his stuff contains the most wicked-ass riffs I know. This album seems to be a little more hard rock so far, without the faster metal stuff... digging this a lot. The only album I ever got from him that I sold and really disliked was 'Magic'. Loved 'Turned to stone' hated the rest. But yeah, basically he's never going to surprise you but you can pretty much always be guaranteed a good solid melodic heavy rock CD. I like the guy.

I'm listenin' to Shy Tiger - Feed The Kitty and am on the track "Hearts On Fire"...this song is a COMPLETE rip-off of Bon Jovi's "Burning For Love", right down to the guitar riff and the drums during the chorus!!! Anyone else noticed that??

    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
