What's a spinnin' in your CD player?

Recommended Posts

I just got a compilation CD in the mail from someone near and dear to my heart in Lakeland, FL. Not metal or even rock but i'm listening to it very intently....

Bonfire - Free

This CD was ripped by terrible reviews but it really isn't bad at all. This is my first exposure to Bonfire and I believe everyone's opinion that their other releases are better, but I like most of this although Rock 'N' Roll Star is pretty lame. I'm coming to the conclusion that a lot of these reviewers are pretty tough critics.

Dan Lucas - '2000' (okay stuff)

Zan Clan - 'Who the fuck are you' (cool release, good riff-driven sleaze metal. I like it a lot.)

Mark Spiro - 'Mighty blue ocean' (I think this is where I depart. Honestly, how many times can you write the same song over and over, and over and over again. Honestly, I like the guy and sympathise with what he's been through, but it's just too samey for me.)

Thunder - The Magnificent Seventh

finally back to their roots!!!!

Got a spin with me today aswell and is a great album  .

Also played VICIOUS MARY and even though it is good , i have to disagree with you Geoff when you say it is better than ZILLION.

I think ZILLION are up a few rungs on the ladder when it comes to musicianship but it is still an impressive album

Wow, cool you gave it a go. Yeah, can see that you may prefer Zillion. For me, though, I just love the vocals of Vicious Mary - the Mats Leven-esque brilliance - a real drawcard for me to that album, and the meaty riffs and stunning songwriting, massive choruses doesn't do it any harm either. :)

As I said, I prefer Vicious Mary, but Zillion is a great one too. :)

My listenings:

Bad Habit - 'Hearsay'

Airless - '2nd round'

Place Vendome - s/t

All brilliant discs...

I've wanted to check this one out for ages. I heard samples at the time and enjoyed them, but wasn't 100% taken. Would love to hear it though. How does it stack up against SR-71?

Been playing a the hell out of these two discs

Dirty Cowboys-Rode Hard, Put Up Wet--One of the most coolest "Guns N Roses" type bands I have ever heard.....first track is a great driving tune. Great in your face sleaze.

Wet Paint-Shhhh! Another great fave of mine......This reminds me a little of Extreme in some places. The track "sex" is awesome.
