HH Not Available In China

I'm in Beijing at the moment.

When i go to China I just used my phone normally.

Vodafone charge 5 bucks to use my normal plan on roaming and the benefit is that as it is routed through the Vodafone network I can access all the shit that's banned in china. Facebook, google, google maps, YouTube, etc etc

But I'm in Beijing for the first time this trip and reception sucks, so I find myself flipping between my phone roaming and hotel wifi.

Just saw that when in Chinese wifi data heavy harmonies is also blocked.

So I guess it is a threat to China somehow...

That sounds like the issue is this end not China's end and sounds like CloudFront blocks Chinese IPs.

It really wasn't a big deal for me.

I'm with Vodafone so could access it regardless on mobile data rather than hotel wifi 

Just thought it was interesting how far reaching the sites are that china blocks.

Hey Dan,

Not sure if it's related to this thread But I've just noticed three very suspicious new members.

All joined at the same time yesterday, all were just looking at the same thread, then logged off at the same time and all three have similar "bot" sounding names. 

I know bots infiltrate as guests, but I've not known them to actually become members. 

Very strange.

Yep, spammers/botters, posting in Russian. Mike and I could see the posts until I banned them, but nobody else. Since I implemented the anti-spam group probationary measures about 10 years ago we haven't been hit by spammers like some other boards/blogs do. They're out there, but there posts never make it to being public...

I've been to china 13 times before, but never Beijing.

Was shocked to see the unity they have with Russia. One of our tour drivers have the Chinese and Russian flags together on his dashboard, building everywhere with Russian words.

Not a conspiracy theorist at all, but it caught me by surprise just how hand in hand the north of china seems to be with Russia.

Not really that surprising considering they are both communist countries with very similar ideals. China is a very weird country though. In some respects they are worse than Russia, but they actually give more to the world than Russia so are often viewed as less dangerous (which they aren't).
