Completely agree I only have 2 live CD's, KISS Alive & Thin Lizzy - Life Live.

I agree with both of you about live albums, I'm not really interested.

That being said, I could not live without "Live...in the Raw", "Operation Livecrime" or "Beast from the East".

“Youth Gone Wild” from “Live in London”

Some interesting nuggets came up on Erik's discord channel about his Skid Row departure as some discussion came up with the Live in London release.

Erik basically said on his channel that he proposed to the Skid Row guys a more "loosened" tour schedule that would allow him more time at home to take care of his health.  He had said he asked for something like 3 weeks on, then a solid month off.  Basically just wanted to do 2 or 3 week runs and then have month breaks in between to allow him time to take care of himself.  Erik also said that he also felt that the time off could be used to work on new music so that it wouldn't be wasted time (no pun intended lol).

Anyways, the band wasn't interested in that kind of arrangement so that's why they parted ways.

Honestly, it boggles my mind why the band wouldn't agree to Erik's terms.  Instead, now they're doing nothing at all lol.  And they lost the best thing they've had since Bach left with Erik and highly doubt they come close to finding a better fit than him.  They had some nice momentum and were willing to just toss it away rather than work on being flexible.  For all intensive purposes, they're probably essentially done as a band at this point.

I also posed the question to Erik that, hypothetically, if the Skid Row guys called him and said they were willing to do whatever was needed to have Erik back, would he consider returning?  His answer was that he doesn't close doors and he's open to anything.  I highly doubt Erik would return though as he seems content doing his own thing now.

Anyways, just found it interesting.  It's just too bad the band couldn't find a way to make it work as what Erik asked for sure doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

One thing you learn from Eriks discord is how open and honest he is, but also he does not talk shit about anyone. And something history has told us is that Skid Row are the opposite. Bach might be hard to get along with, but so are those three by all accounts. I fully agree that they really should have been more willing to compromise. Erik not only brought in a vocal talent that could match Bach, he also brought in a ready made fan base and a younger audience as well. For the first time in decades, the were almost relevant again and they threw that away. And as you say, since the dates with Lzzy, they have done fuck all and are just existing on the back of this live album release.

They will be back to near obscurity from here on in.

I agree.

I had given those Skid Row guys the benefit of the doubt for many years in the Bach debacle but something about Erik's departure is still rubbing me the wrong way.  They played Erik's departure off Erik choosing to leave to take care of his health.  But that's only 1/2 the story.  The other 1/2 is that Erik wanted to stay in the band but they simply weren't willing to accommodate him.  I feel like a real "caring" band would've figured it out.  I mean, Rick Allen loses an arm and Def Leppard gave him whatever time he needed to work it out.

I've been had the opportunity to chat with Erik a handful of times over the years.  He literally is one of the most sincere, humble and likeable individuals I've met in my life.  He's one of those people you can talk to and within 15 minutes it feels like you're talking to a long lost friend from high school or something lol.  It's just hard to believe Snake and Rachel wouldn't do whatever it took to keep him on board.  Maybe there's more to the story but appears they just let him walk like they thought he'd be easily replaceable.  Yet, we're now 4-5 months out and they still don't have a singer and aren't playing shows.

Agree 100% that they'll go back to obscurity pretty much like they were pre-Erik.

    • This is kind of a twofer. I just got my Pioneer VX-90 Betamax back yesterday. Cost me a fortune to get it fixed. Well worth it to have such a beast of a machine. Before that I only had low to mid tier Beta machines. I am very excited. The first tape I played was Quiet Riot: Bang Thy Head. Watching that video I found myself in awe of how awesome Quiet Riot were during those first few years. How is it possible for a band to be that awesome and have it all go so wrong so quickly? By the time I heard about Quiet Riot in the early 2000s they were basically considered a joke. Sadly, I kind of just accepted that as fact. I was a casual fan at best and never really looked much deeper than the radio hits. That was a mistake. I am lucky that I at least got to see them live a couple times. I didn't appreciate it at the time. That was really cool of Kevin and the other guys to sign my ticket stub.
    • From Bravewords... Legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) has issued an update after he was shot multiple times earlier this week in a Las Vegas, NV street shooting. Jake shared the following via social media: "Checking. Is this on? Been awhile since I posted here. Let’s see: "I deeply appreciate all the concern and well wishes. Makes everything going on a little better. To clarify, I was shot three times. I was on my way back home from walking my dog Coco (I didn’t name him so don’t!) Don’t want to go into details now, I’m tired, but I feel relatively very lucky. The police found 15 shell casings at the scene which means he emptied his clip on me. I could only dodge so many so one bullet went through my forearm, one through my foot, and one in the back which broke a rib and damaged a lung. Priority now is to keep draining my lung till it’s done crying. Then we can pull that tube out and concentrate on the more minor injuries. "And by the way, Coco’s fine and appreciates your inquiries!"   Police released a statement regarding the shooting, which occurred early morning on October 15. The statement reads: "Officers responded to a shooting incident in the 11000 block of Alora Street. Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation." In a statement to TMZ, Ozzy Osbourne said, “It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be ok.” Lee played with Ozzy from 1983-1987 and was featured on the albums Bark At The Moon and The Ultimate Sin.
    • I fuckin' knew you would be the one to answer.  But you're not wrong. ;}
    • This is one of the songs Erik and Jona wrote for the next Skid Row album before he handed his notice in
    • So I have this info from a reliable inside source. There will be a new CL album at the start of 2025, and Danny is also working with Chez Kane on her third album which should come out late 2025.
