Finland wants to join NATO.

Why should any country try to stop this ???

As far as I know, the only country that wants to stop it is Russia and probably China....Sweden will most likely join as well....

The real question is if Finland does formally apply will Russia invade before they are actually members.

We are joining, officially announced by our President and Prime Minister earlier today. I'm sure Sweden will follow.

That is if all 30 NATO countries give their blessing. Turkey might be against it.

I'd be more concerned about Hungary being against it since Orban is buddies with Putin...

Russia is having a hell of time with Ukraine so there is no way they are going to expand the war any time soon....

Turkey is still resisting Finland's (and Sweden's) membership in Nato. I guess Putin has a say in it. We all know Turkey's 'friendship' with Russia.

I thought I read that Putin said he had no issue with it as long as NATO didn't introduce military build up in the region.
