We have got some very exciting tracks in the mix. Can't wait to share them with you.
Our new album title will be "Deep connection"
and is it Aor? Of course it is.What else can it be.
Also there are plenty of copies of our first album still available.
Take care guys!

I like that. Possibly a bit better vibe than the debut. I feel like this is the type of band that should be better on album two with a bit more experience. The debut was nice, but possibly a little too simple.

I'm confused.

Is this the same band as this...

Haha, you mean because of the line "It's been a while but yes we are still alive?"

I was going to point that out too, that they only released their debut a few weeks ago, lol.

In all honesty, I'm not sure, but I am 99% sure it's the same band. Time obviously moves faster where they're from.

Right.

Been listening today and I quite like it but given it seems to have been released in February that line really confused me.

Haha, well they say that because most of the songs of the album have some time (beginning in 2016), although the album itself has been released this year. So for them it's 'old' material already, and I presume have been creating new tracks (like the one above) while the album was finally being published.

From their Facebook info:

First Night was formed in summer 2016, after Reneck Sweet decided to put together a new band.Old friends Mikk Tivas ,Kristjan Aasamäe,who were In the band called Rising Sun, we're happy with material which Reneck had written and joined the forces
Idea was to make a AOR/Hard Rock band, the genre that everyone loved.

Reneck says:"i used to be a lead singer in the Rising Sun when we started the band in 2007.Shortly after i left to explore the world and Mikk took over the lead vocals. I returned to Estonia in 2016 and started writing new material, i've been writing songs since i was about 16.
After seeing many AOR/Hard rock bands over the years i decided that's exactly what i want to do also.

All the songs i have written with my acoustic guitar, then Mikk is adding ideas and producing everything himself like he did in Rising Sun
Our first single "Dangerous" is out now and will be followed by "Out of the fire" etc.

There are only few people who are listening this kind of music in Estonia but our intention is to promote ourselves outside the home country.
At the moment i have written about 20 songs for First Night and from this lot we will choose our favourites".

I must admit, I did seem to remember something about the actual songs being quite old.

Good to hear we might not need to wait long for more.

New song 'In The Name Of Our Love'.

Good one.

Wasn't that on the debut, lol? Again, extremely familiar but also really nice.

My main hope is this album is 10 tracks only, and just their absolute best. Worst thing a band like this can do is make an over-long album of similar songs, even if they're all nice.

Agreed, they are definitely very good and the last album was pretty good too,if not a tad over long, moneys worth in one way but i'd prefer as you say that they put out the best of the material as a disc and not all their eggs in one basket so to speak, still I very much look forward to the next release when it may be  :)

Very good once more, nothing earth shattering but very good none the less, wonder when the next cd releases? seems like a while since they announced it,although they do like to load their albums with tracks,I mean their debut had 14 songs and they released at least seven before the album...this is four and counting from this one  :)

    • Did anyone notice these guys released another new album?  As expected, it's pretty weak and more proof of their solid decline.  HOWEVER!  There is actually a good song on it. It's only one, but I kind of clapped and cheered when I heard this. I used to love these guys so much, and still love the albums I always loved from these guys but it's been some barren years. It was good to hear them do what they used to do with great ease.
    • Couple of okay songs, but otherwise as expected above. No surprises, exactly what you'd expect from these guys in 2022.
    • Not every song is a hit, but another pretty decent one mini-album. I like some of the gear on this one.  Villain of the Story     -    Divided 1    .    Never Again 2    .    Jester 3    .    Karma 4    .    Under My Skin 5    .    Losing Control 6    .    Wrong 7    .    Don't Go 8    .    Divided
    • Not sure if folk know, but they got back together and released an EP this year. Anberlin     -    Silverline 1    .    Two Graves 2    .    Nothing Lost 3    .    Body Language 4    .    Asking 5    .    Circles It's not amazing, but I do really like this song from it-
    • Not an amazing album, but pretty solid with a couple of very nice tunes-     They have a very comprehensive youtube channel for anyone unsure and wanting to give everything a listen- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYECJVZLOQebjAuj_HMKLjg
    • Credit must be given where it's due, and I do like the effort put into this one. To be frank, I thought the first 5 songs were pretty shit. All the while I was listening, wondering what became of these guys. The most frustrating song of those first few is 'Eternal.' I wrote in my little ratings thing that it almost sounds to me like these guys are trying to sound bad because, otherwise, this is a pretty good song. But it's just done poorly.  Anyway, I want to be fair to these guys and I have to say, that from song 6 the mood in the room seems to lift and they start to give it a fair crack. They drop the mopey post-grunge blandom and have a crack at some decent melodic type of rock. Spoiler alert - I don't actually think there's a keeper track on the album, but holy shit they get close.  'Temples,' 'Alive,' 'Heaven Knows' and 'Someone's watching over me' are all, four in a row, good, strong songs. And then 'Love Is The Only Place' hits and I was taken aback. Unfortunately, they're not the band they used to be and I am 100% convinced they couldn't hit the heights of the debut even if they did everything possible to try... but goodness do they get close with this track. A bit of polish and finesse and this one wouldn't be a bad stab at what they did so well on their debut.  Sadly, the album's worst song follows in 'The Undertaker' - what a piece of shit, lol. Really grates me because this is the discussion point I've had with christians that aggravates me the most, and it's in a song, so naturally I hate it. And then 'Afterlife' isn't amazing, but pretty decent. Before the album finishes on a high, with one of the best songs on the album with a nice hook - 'Strange New World.' So overall, like I say, credit where it's due. After the first few songs I was close to closing up shop and calling this a pass, but thankfully, they took me on a ride and it was pretty cool. They're a dim shadow of the band they used to be, to be totally fair, but I like that they showed a bit of fight with this album. Better than expected.
    • The goddamn ADV fellow involved. Again.  But I like the song anyway. From Frontiers: Frontiers Music Srl is proud to present Killer Kings' debut album entitled "Burn For Love". Killer Kings is a musical alliance between Gregory Lynn Hall (ex- 101 South) and Tristan Avakian (ex- Red Dawn, Queen Extravaganza).  Killer Kings first came about when Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino thought of bringing Gregory Lynn Hall, the former singer of 101 South, an AOR band who released three albums between 2000 and 2009, and Tristan Avakian, a very gifted guitarist who made his name in the '90s with the Melodic Hard Rock band Red Dawn, together. Musically, Killer Kings mixes the AOR approach of both Red Dawn and 101 South with some interesting twists.  Gregory Lynn Hall has had a long history in the music industry, in all areas from studio work to live performances. Gregory pounded the pavement in the thriving '80s Hollywood rock scene, playing at all the rock venues from Gazzaris to the Troubadour to The Country Club. He eventually left L.A. after the '80s hard rock scene died down and became a session vocalist, singing on many well known Christian artists' albums. In the late '90s, he returned to California and in 1999, while doing a session in Malibu, he met Roger Scott Craig (ex-Fortune) and thus 101 SOUTH was born. Shortly after the first 101 SOUTH album (2000) was finished, Gregory was asked to join the band Heaven & Earth as their bass player and toured with them to support the "Windows to the World" album. He would then go on to record two more acclaimed 101 SOUTH albums and one solo record in 2014. Tristan Avakian is a professional musician of many years with extensive experience in theater, touring, writing, and producing. Cirque du Soleil, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Biohazard are just some of the names from the varied genres and artists he has immersed himself in. He has also worked with producers such as Steve Thompson and Rob Thomas and joined the Queen Extravaganza show in the USA. He is also known for being the guitarist of '90s Melodic Hard Rockers Red Dawn, a band formed by former Rainbow keyboardist David Rosenthal, together with other two Rainbow alumni Chuck Burgi and Greg Smith, which released a critically acclaimed album for EMI Toshiba in Japan in 1993. Tracklisting: 1. Burn For Love 2. I Will Be Stronger 3. Higher 4. In A Different World 5. Another Night, Another Fight 6. Phoenix 7. Two Ships 8. Losing Me 9. Do Or Die 10. The Pains Of Yesterday 11. Ain’t No End In Sight Line-Up: Gregory Lynn Hall - Vocals Tristan Avakian - Guitars Alessandro Del Vecchio - Bass, Keyboards Nicholas Papapicco - Drums Additional Musicians: Tommy Denander - Keyboards on 'Burn For Love'

    • Loving aspects of this. It's like a cassette tape, actually. I quite love most of the first half, but the second side balladry is a bit of a pass for me. The one exception being 'Smoking.' What a cool groove. I wasn't sure I was going to love it from the start, but man it's a cool song.  'Why Are You Calling Me Now' is an absolute belter, and I like the first 8 songs (except 'Time to let it go' and 'Don't go'). Good album with a very nice sound.
