Street Symphonies Records & Burning Minds Music Group are excited to announce the signing of Swedish glamsters Lipz, for the release of their brand new album "Scaryman". The history of Lipz begins back in 2011, when Klintberg bros Alexander (Vocals, Guitar) and Koffe (Drums) decided to build up a new band together with their best friend Conny Svärd (Guitar). The band immediately started the research for a suitable frontman, but after some unsuccessful tries Alexander decided to pick up the mic himself, becoming immediately the perfect fit for the group. With this line-up, Lipz entered the studio to begin the recordings of their own material. Their first single "Ghost Town" was released in September 2012, followed three years after by their official EP called "Psycho". An endless research for a stable bass-player slowed down the process of making a full studio album, which took three years to be finally completed (with Alexander handling the bass duties himself).

In 2018 Lipz signed with Street Symphonies Records / Burning Minds Music Group for the release of "Scaryman", which is expected in May.

Label Manager Stefano Gottardi says: "Since Oscar Burato and myself founded Street Symphonies Records back in 2008, our first priority has always been scouting the underground scene looking for young and promising bands, especially those with cool music, right attitude and a great look. In 2011 we stumbled upon Lipz for the first time, and we immediately contacted the guys to discuss the release of a record: sadly it never happened, especially for some unexpected changes they were making to their sound at that time. When a few months ago we heard that they were finally recording their debut album, and that it would have been inspired by their "original" sound, we immediately contacted them, in order to resume the negotiations interrupted years before. After listening for the first time to "Scaryman", we had no doubt: it was exactly the kind of record we wanted to hear from Lipz! The revival of glam rock, started in the second half of 2000s, caused an invasion of new bands (most of them coming from Sweden), but today the 95% of those acts no longer exists, while just few are being born these days. Lipz are among the few convincing young leading figures of this scene: they have the mood, the refrains, the right look and the needed attitude. But most of all they show off that cool mix of extravagance and madness which promises to bring you back in time, when this entertaining rock style ruled the charts being literally the soundtrack of our youth".

Further info about official release date, final tracklist and more details will follow in the forthcoming weeks.

LIPZ is:
Alex K Klintberg: Vocals, Guitar
Koffe K Klintberg: Drums
Conny Svärd: Guitar

It actually sounds like a better version of Ghost town to me

and it's completely stuck in my head at the moment

Nice, I found it similar to Ghost Town too.  Hearing a song that you really like and that has a melody/hook that stays with you is what it is all about.

As with everything from the Lipz camp I am smitten with the Get It On track.

These kids are as cool as can be.

I can't wait to get a copy, maybe they will send me one...

One thing that saddens me is the lack of bass player in the vid. Sure they may be in between but have the singer grab a bass vs the guitar and the continuity is restored, all is right with the world...

I listened to this during my workday today and thought it sounded pretty good, my initial favorites are Star, Get It On, and Falling Away.  I'll give it another spin over the weekend.

Sorry guys but I must be hearing something completely different to you. Just finished listening to this and it has to be one of the worst albums I have heard this year.

    • I considered Metal T's joke about Hillary, not women. That's the problem. If I make a joke or comment about a particular woman who happens to be an arsehole, then I'm labeled sexist. If I make a joke or comment about a particular African/Asian or someone else from not my culture that happens to be an arsehole, then I'm labeled racist. The same with homosexuals/homophobia. Just because I think one particular person is an arsehole, doesn’t mean I'm any of those things (which I'm not).  Also, the thing about political correctness that has always given me the shits is that it seem to be okay to be racist/sexist, etc as long as you don't let it show. Being politically correct doesn’t mean that you or your organization is not racist, it just means that you hide it. It's a bullshit, token, meaningless philosophy.
    • It's gonna be hard to enforce this curfew if it's still around when "daylight savings" starts. Hope you and yours are well and safe BTW mate.
    • Yeah, I'm all good mate. I hope you're keeping safe. We're still at 3 up here but all wearing masks of course. I don't mind the masks. Anything to hide my rough head is a good thing. It might just enhance my chances with the ladies. 😆
    • We are able to carry on our business. Fortunately we supply businesses that are allowed to operate under the restrictions (we supply people who do online retail sales) But it was a grey area last night and for a while I thought that we were not able to operate. during that time I was pretty pissed, thinking we had to shut down for 6 weeks. Income gone, don't qualify for any government assistance. fortunately it turned out ok for me, but for a brief while I got a really good understanding at the hurt and anger out there.
    • Good morning Darky, what level you fall under 3 or 4 ? Hoping you and Crue surviving The store you connecting  me at, has had a few good weeks, it's only falling off the past week. And recycle store has been  open right through/ Been worried jumping on train to go down there, you never know what other passengers are carrying

    • Strange that being a UK band we can't preorder the cd yet but overseas can now? Anywho this is pretty good and i'm waiting to preorder the disc and help support these guys.
    • No-one is offended. But if you are so tolerant, surely you must accept that people can call out things they don't agree with?  It's everyone's absolute freedom to make any kind of joke they want, but then it must also be everyone's absolute freedom to speak against it?
    • I did not call him a misogynist. I said the joke was, and I do believe that one can tell such jokes without being one. It's perfectly possible to slip up and tell a joke and not consider what roots it might have. I'm no stranger to putting my foot in it myself from time to time.  That said, I'll keep out if these threads from now on and stick to the music part. It's clear that folks are pretty entrenched in their stands (I'm no different in this case) and it will only be one endless circular discussion where no-one moves an inches. Pointless.  Edit: I don't believe I owe him anything as I don't think I did what you claim.
