Am giving this one a thorough listen... and I don't know what happened between last year and this year to my perception of Threshold. I *really* enjoyed March of Progress, but this one bores me to tears. I have a hard time making it through the album in one sitting, as all the songs blur together. It's too "samey" across the board.

I think I need to let it sit and come back to it after a few days/weeks, because I'm really NOT enjoying it and I'm not entirely sure why. :(

Ill tell you why....because they have just rehashed every riff and melody from the subsurface / dead reckoning era and incorporated them into substandard average songs.

I too really enjoyed March Of Progress but this might be where I finally climb off the Threshold boat.

Incredible discography but this sounds tired to me....

Certainly can appreciate the 'tired' and 'slower' comments from the good folk here, although maybe just me but not quite hearing the borrowed and recycled riffs from the Subsurface era hmmm...

Regardless this got my album of the year 2014 and return to this recod often, but that said of the two Wilson returns gotta say now prefer March Of Progress over this one but back to back they make fer a tasty days listen \m/ And kudos to major winner Autumn Red and classy fun bonus track shoulda been included in standard edition regular trackplay WTF :screwy:

Rating this an 8.5 previous ear bender MOP a 9

Oh and fer anyone still considering, the packaging is classy with lottsa notes and comments fer each track (and why indeed the bonus song was left off the standard editions - good stuff!)

I wonder if this means a return to the project's original synthwave style?

    • New song 'Siren Song'. From Frontiers: Seventh Crystal, who stormed on the melodic rock scene in 2021 since their stunning debut album "Delirium", have announced the release of their third full-length, "Entity". Seventh Crystal took everything up a major level (or two, really), "Entity" sees the bands exploring and expanding different genres, bringing their melodic rock formula, to progressive rock fields, sometimes little heavier and back to their unique rock style. Seventh Crystal is a melodic hard rock band from Gothenburg formed by Kristian Fyhr in 2019. What started as a solo project by Kristian quickly grew into a larger endeavor when Johan Älvsång and Olof Gadd joined the project. Shortly after, Anton Roos and Emil Dornerus also joined the band, completing the initial lineup. In 2020 the band signed a deal with Frontiers Records and released their debut album "Delirium" in 2021, which made waves all around the world. Due to the guitar-heavy parts on the album, the band realized they needed one more guitarist to be able to perform the songs live. Gustav Linde, an old friend of Anton Roos, took on the job, and the band began to work on their slightly more guitar-oriented follow-up album "Wonderland." The album "Wonderland" was released in 2023 alongside the EP "Infinity," establishing the band as an act to be reckoned with. During the fall, Johan Älvsång decided to step aside, and the band continued as a five-piece into the recordings of a third album. Drawing inspiration from a variety of genres, from soft rock to hard-hitting heavy metal, Seventh Crystal showcases a diverse range of musical expression. The band aims to be authentic and serve as an inspiration, outlet, and escape for their audience. Their sound is characterized by bombastic productions, catchy hooks, and dramatic and emotional melodies. TRACKLIST: 1. Oathbreaker 2. Thirteen to One 3. 404 4. Path of the Absurd 5. Architects of Light 6. Interlude 7. Blinded by the Light 8. Siren Song 9. Versus 10. Mayflower 11. Push Comes to Shove 12. A Place Called Home 13. Song Of The Brave
    • The latest band featured is "Y&T". This is a good one, as always with channel.  On a side note, I'm just thinking that there aren’t too many bands that have a Lead Singer that is also the Lead Guitarist.
