Hmmmm, sounds kinda okay to me. Does sound like Queensryche... but it's just an okay song to me.

Wait until you hear "Fallout" Geoff. That's even better. :banger:

So far, my scores on the three tracks I've heard:

Redemption - 7/10

Where Dreams Go To Die - 8.5/10

Fallout - 9/10

FYI, Geoff Tate's Queensryche had no song over 6/10 for me. Cold came close but not quite. Geoff Tate cannot sing anymore. And it's been proven on the 2013 remakes on the new Tatesryche disc, "Jet City Woman" has identical chorus vocals by Tate. It's identical in timing. vocal pitch, and everything. He used the vocals from "Empire"'s version and thought nobody would notice. Tate can't sing like that anymore!! :rofl2:

I like what I've heard so far ... I'll probably pick up the new 'Ryche disc at some point, but I'll be giving Mr. Tate And Blokes a wide berth ... is it me, or is he starting to behave like a certain Axl Rose? :)

First thing I've heard from the Todd-ryche version that's actually got me excited about the release. Here's hoping the majority of the disc is in the same vein.

This record is sounding more and more badass. When it finally drops, I wanna see a steel cage death match between Todd LaTorre and Geoff Tate. Winner gets to keep the Queensryche name.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!

Hmmmm, I am not what you would call a die hard Queesryche fan, but I do own most of their studio albums, so I have no opinion as to whether Tate is a douche or not to be frank, so I certainly aint gonna pick sides based on personality, purely on what sounds best.

To me the stuff by the non-Tate version sounds fairly bland, and seems to have more of another bands sound to them than QR (I am thinking PC69 initially, but not sure I am right on that).

As for the Tate stuff. Sounds more like QR to me (vocalists are key to the sound for me), but still nothing overly exciting there either (I must admit the title track is quite good though).

I havent bothered ordering the Tate version yet as it has a later release date here, and I usually wait til their albums drop in price before purchasing. I may have to purchase both of these soon though just incase one gets deleted, just for completist sake.

Overall I will say that I am not overly excited for either, but what I have heard from both is not terrible.

Finally!! Queensryche excites the senses again!! Grew real tired of Tate and his shit he called music. This is what should have followed "Empire". "Fallout" is a bombastic tune. Others I like are "Where Dreams Go To Die" and "Redemption". I also like "Open Road" alot. 7.5/10 for me.

Without a doubt the best Queensryche release since Empire.

For some reason I kinda wish the songs were a bit more proggish or epic and not so short and to the point.

9 real tracks, 35 minutes, just seems like an appetizer. I hope this means they'll release another one in a year or two.

With titles like Redemption, Vindication, Don't Look Back and Fallout, you know the band is bitter but ready to move on from the Tate fiasco that was Queensryche for nearly 20 years.

Like a wife getting daily beatings, yet hanging around for years and years, one day pushed too far and saying Fuck it!, she picks up her shit, leaves the abuser and sets out for a better life.

Here is my track by track rating:

X2 - intro no review, but reminds me Operation:Mindcrime, a good start

Where Dreams Go To Die - 9/10 (great chorus, a little soft for a lead off track)

Spore - 8/10 (heavy and solid)

In This Light - 9.5/10 (A classic Queensryche sound, love this one)

Redemption - 9/10 (Awesome chorus, reminds me of the track Empire)

Vindication - 9.5/10 (Wicked chorus and a beast of a track)

MIdnight Lullaby - short intrumental, more memories of Operation:Mindcrime...me like!

A World Without - 7.5/10 (A mid tempo, dark sounding ballad, pretty good)

Don't Look Back - 8/10 (The drums in the intro are so classic Queensryche, very solid tune)

Fallout - 9/10 (A favourite of many, and for good reason, under 3 minutes, an intensely great song)

Open Road - 7.5/10 (Another mid tempo number, solid)

overall: 86%

The first Queensryche album to receive a passing grade since Empire....it's been awhile.

A contender for album of the year, but I'm sure better releases are coming before years end.

A great return, but 35 minutes just seems a little short, but no reason not to release something new in a year or two.

Great album!

I saw them live last weekend and they were phenomenal and Todd was unbelievable live. I met him and Parker before the show and they were very nice especially Todd.

Also Todd did a nice tribute to a woman in the crowd who had lost her husband where he walked into the crowd singing Silent Lucidity to her. Goosebumps....

    • Kickin' riff. This is a cool tune indeed. New album sounding promising.
    • Doesn't do much for me. Not sure it's any better than what I've heard from the new BJ album... but I guess it's not too bad. Wouldn't play it again, though.
    • Bit 50/50 on it, myself. I prefer the stuff on Mick's solo album, but it's not a bad song. That kind of solo in a Motley song definitely sticks out... but not in a bad way. It's cool. I dig.
    • Did they actually break up? They were releasing albums annually and finally fixed up the production end but haven't heard from them for a while now. Always loved everything they released, personally.  Edit - yeah, 'Be Here' from 2020 seems to be the last album. Allegedly still active, but obviously no recent albums. Would love to hear them add to the discography.
    • Released back in 2019 on vinyl only in most of the world, the only place it could be purchased on CD was Japan. It is finally available on CD to the rest of the world with the addition of two bonus tracks. One is the usual "bonus" track of a live recording of Go man go, and the other is the song Don't give up which was released at the start of the pandemic as a single. https://townsendmusic.store/product/140275?lf=035f179d9c80928d2d3b155fa72b0731 Follow the breadcrumbs to a sonic treasure trove with Alice Cooper's "Breadcrumbs" EP, which will be available on CD for the first time ever, featuring additional bonus tracks on this edition! Originally released in 2019 as a limited-edition 10" vinyl record, "Breadcrumbs" is a tribute to the garage rock heroes of Alice Cooper's hometown of Detroit. The EP features six tracks that showcase Cooper's raw and energetic take on classic Detroit tunes, including Suzi Quatro's "Your Mama Won't Like Me", Bob Seger's "East Side Story", and the MC5's "Sister Anne". It also includes the two additional bonus tracks "Don’t Give Up", conveying Cooper’s message of hope and perseverance to his fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a live version of "Go Man Go" from his electrifying set at Hellfest 2022. The album featured a star-studded lineup of Detroit musicians, including Wayne Kramer of the MC5, Johnny "Bee" Badanjek of the Detroit Wheels, and Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad. "Breadcrumbs" marked the beginning of Alice Cooper's homecoming, a journey that culminated in the critically acclaimed studio album "Detroit Stories", released in 2020. This EP served as a taste of Cooper's profound affection for his hometown's rich musical heritage, making it an essential addition for any devoted fan of the shock rock icon.   1. Detroit City 2020 2. Go Man Go 3. East Side Story 4. Your Mama Won't Like Me 5. Devil With A Blue Dress On / Chains Of Love 6. Sister Anne 7. Don't Give Up (Bonus Track) 8. Go Man Go (Live At Hellfest 2022) (Bonus Track)
    • New song "Summerlovin" feat. Olli Herman, me likey...
    • Pretty awesome! I often fantasize about starting an AOR, but I know nothing about making music.
    • Not gonna lie, I kind of like it. Hardly classic Crue, more like something that would have appeared on the Corabi-fronted self-titled album, but it's not bad for an oldschool band trying a modern hard rock song. That being said, I expect my opinion to be a lonely one, and I understand why fans are dogging on it...
