Papa Roach - The Connection (new album)

Definately looking forward to this one!

I still think 3 out of the 5 studio tracks on 'Time for Annihilation' are the best they've ever written and I hope they manage to continue in the same spirit.

Papa Roach to me are one of the prime examples how rock-music re-evolved back to a more melodic (some might call it 80s-) approach over the last couple of years. Loathed this band when they got big with 'Last Resort' and that stupid rap-thing, but since 'Paramour Sessions' I dig this band a lot!

Wow, that song sounds HUGE! I wasn't expecting this album, but hopefully this is a release to breath a bit of life into a pretty quiet year for modern rock. The chorus and backing vocals on this song just sound massive. Honestly can't want to hear this one.

This band has been knocking it outta the park on the last few albums, so I'm stoked to hear this newie. That first single sounds totally kickass!

Man, I WAS excited about this. Not now...this song is bland, boring and I f*cking hated them on their first album with the rap vox. Seems like it's back again...I sure hope not. If the album is like this song I won't spend a penny on it.

The so called rapping is at a minimum and actually fits the song perfectly. This is a great anthem and I'm sure will please many...don't worry Glen, I'm sure you'll love it.

In my opinion, this would have been the worse song on the last album.

This song rawks.........Papa Roach has put out at least three or four stellar discs, and I don't think this one will disappoint!

Oh, my, that sounds absolutely delicious. Judging solely from those samples, this could turn out to be the modern hard rock album of the year for me. October 2 suddenly seems so far away...

So what do you think about this album guys?

Personally, I like it a lot and there are some terrific songs on "The Connection" e.g 'Still Swingin', 'Where did the Angels go', 'Breathe you in' or 'Leader of the broken Hearts'. But I think the production is much muddier/weaker than on the 5 new songs off 'Time for Annihilation' and the rap-part in 'Won't let up' is completely unnessecary and kinda spoils an otherwise great track.

IMO 'Still Swingin' is probably the weakest track on offer.

Really good album, but a way off Paramour Sessions.

Still an excellent band though who rarely put a foot wrong.

Doods, haven't had a moment to even consider this yet. There's probably about 20 new albums I'm really dying to hear that I really need to do something about - this being pretty much the top of the list.

Somehow assembled all kinda bonus-tracks via Youtube and hell do I get a very nice Hardcore Superstar-feel of '9th life' - great song! Also liking 'You gotta want it' a lot.

And after listening to this disc a lot in the car lately, I think it's their best effort yet or at least on par with 'Paramour Sessions' and 'Time for Annihilation'.

Absolute killer disc. I agree this is not far off 'Paramour Sessions' at all. Love most the songs on this one, but 'Leader of the broken hearts' is probably my fave - killer melodic rock. But yeah, this is certainly a little more memorable overall than the last disc. This'll rate high for me this year for sure.

    • So I was just looking at the new releases I bought from this year, and while there are some new additions to expand from the top 5 I posted earlier this year, to a top 10, all the stuff in my original list are still in the top 10 (although obvs with three months to go, the ones near the bottom could be usurped). Anyway as of now, this is where I am at: 1.       Judas Priest 2.       The Warning 3.       Nek! 4.       Rolling Quartz 5.       Band Maid 6.       April Art 7.       Lipz 8.       Sebastian Bach 9.       Mick Mars 10.   Durbin
    • I to used see them a few times at the Middle as well. With local chapter of the Hells Angels at front bar. Not much a Screaming Jets fan, so I didn't watch them with Gleeson' The guy in front now, was their recent drummer before they put out in front Those first five albums are classics
    • My brother was playing some of this guy's stuff a few months ago. I only now got around to checking it out for myself. Pretty fuckin' good!
    • Seems these guys are no more   https://sleazeroxx.com/r-i-p-cobrakill-lead-guitarist-randy-white-announces-band-no-longer-exists/
    • I grew up listening to Cuntry, and have kinda wanted to get back into it. But not the typical New Cuntry shit. So I'll give this a try.
    • I always forget about this band, and then I listen to them and am like, "Oh, yeah, they're good!" And then forget about them for another year.
    • I was a pretty big fan. Nature Of The Beast is a killer song. Saw them with Dave Gleeson from the Screaming Jets singing and he did an amazing job, but pretty sure they have a new singer now  I recently went through the two most recent albums before this one and there were a couple of ok tracks, but mostly mid. Fun fact: I saw the Angels a couple of years before Doc died at the Middle hotel in Ferntree Gully and they seemed to hate each other. Pretty sure Doc said nothing to the crowd all night. Fun fact 2: when they were building the transit bar in Melbourne, a mate and I found a service elevator that went to the roof, which was under construction. After peeing off the roof, which is always fun, we realised that we could clearly hear the music 5 or 6 floors below from a DJ I think. He was playing Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again. We started yelling down the No Way Get Fucked, Fuck Off bit thinking we were hilarious. Then soon we noticed people looking up, and for some reason they seemed to be clearly hearing us. Another mate then called us to tell us security were on the way up the stairs so we took the service elevator down and managed to laugh it off. Stoopid drunk story I guess, but fun days.
    • Cheeky, getting your artwork in there. I wonder how you did that.  I like the vocal track on #1 and that'd be my pick. I personally don't dig the female versions of songs, because I'm not a female (yet?) and as these are songs written by ourselves I personally feel the best interpretation is an AI dude voice taking the place of your dude voice.
    • Yeah, that's great but this is obviously an accomplished musician probably completely in control of this output... not done with Suno, I'd bet. There's definitely dudes out there who are perfectly capable of doing their own music, like this dude, but for whatever reason might not be able to put a project together, again, for whatever reason... but this definitely feels a lot more like AI feeling in the missing gaps for someone otherwise in complete control of what he wants.  Either way, it is very cool indeed.  As Darkstone says, I'm not sure paying is the way to get the best results. I'm also not saying it isn't, especially with other platforms that are not Suno. I think already knowing what you're doing, musically, is the best way to get best results, personally. Suno, for example, is just perfect for someone who might enjoy writing lyrics but is not in any way shape or form an accomplished (or even adequate, lol) musician.  But yeah, it's pretty cool for some fun. I'm not sure if you checked out my links above. Keeping them pretty quiet due to lyrical content, lol, but you might dig some of the stuff in my links. 'As the moment passes by' and 'I'll wait for you' are two of my personal faves. Along with 'Faith to fall.'
