Dang. I'm officially an old fart. Columbo was a TV mainstay when I was growing up, along with the Rockford Files. Charlie's Angels, The Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Baretta...

 

TV was so fucking cool in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Backed - the whole point of a lot of modern TV is either to be a fly on the wall in another lame "reality" show giving complete jerks air time and fame they don't deserve or celebrity follow me about shows (who really cares about what Peter Andre, Jordan or even Ozzy get up to...I don't and it gives them the excuse to act like prats and be paid for it), or express to the nth degree via "gritty dramas" the lives of lowlifes (like Eastenders e.t.c.) and make the stupid people who watch theses programmes believe this is acceptable behaviour...it's all about cheap titillation and seeing what filth/adult situations they can get away with on air half the time prior to the 9pm watershed under the banner of decent family programming. Even pop music has been over taken by this obsession with semi pornographic/violent imagery ... pop music....supposedly for kids/teenagers.

 

Anyway rant over.

 

Mr. Falk you were cool as Columbo ..... it was a program I loved to watch and with most of the 70's stuff would let my child watch too....R.I.P.

I loved Columbo. I have the first 2 seasons on DVD.
