Pride from Sweden

This CD was reissued in small volume (550 units) in 2008 by AOR-FM Records and is long sold out, I am afraid.

Man I want a hard copy of this one! You'd swear you were listening to Treat out-takes when you hear this CD. Great stuff, with the vocalist being a dead-ringer for Robert Ernlund.

Jeez, that site is really expensive. I want the CD, but it just adds up to too much to be honest. :(

I agree ! Yesterrock really are very expensive ! Probably the most expensive of all of them. :(

Yes, you're right Stefan! I'm the guitarist in Pride. Nowadays I play in Linehouse which has been my main priority since 2005. Keep you're fingers crossed for a Pride CD with newly recorded material. It's early days yet, but if all goes well.....

Thanks Geoff!

Yes, Stefan. We are recording material for a possible future release. It's songs from the 80's that never got to be recorded back then. It's early days yet and we are taking it slow. The bonus tracks are examples of us recording old songs. Keep your fingers crossed that this project gets finished.

I guess nothing new materialized. Too bad, because the debut rocks big time.

    • Ohh nice, hoping the new recent singles will be on this one.
    • New album out September 20th through Frontiers.
    • I agree. Ultimately, I think bands become sort of what they "really" want to become and move toward the "mean" so to speak.  Leppard always said that they wanted to be like Queen in that they weren't constrained by having to make certain types of songs.  It was probably that desire to go outside the box that allowed Pyromania and Hysteria to happen in the first place.   And it's probably what's caused them to jump around with different style songs throughout the years.  I think it would've happened that way regardless.   Who knows though.  Maybe Steve would've influenced things a little bit as his Led Zep and Jimmy Page influences might've trickled in more.  And who knows what could've happened if Mutt stuck around for a couple more albums too....he was probably the most important piece in the puzzle.  They were already changing lanes though even with Steve and Mutt in the fold.  I think they've still shown they're capable of doing more classic sounding stuff if they want to with songs like Promises, Paper Sun, Dangerous, Take What You Want, etc being a few examples.    Either way, I'm just happy they've kept it going for nearly 50 years.  It has to be tough staying inspired and coming up with new song ideas for that long so that's kind of why I think the course they took would've naturally happened either way.
    • What are the chances...no sooner than I got these from the band that Eonian annouce that they'll be issuing them  https://www.eonianrecords.com/ Their new single - Out Of Touch https://wantedbandofficial.bandcamp.com/track/out-of-touch
    • Through the Eyes of World - Monster
    • Brother Sun and Sister Moon - Street Talk
    • He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother-The Hollies
    • Eyes of the World-Tony MacAlpine
    • The funny thing is  I saw someone comment on the video that they have not sounded the same since Steve died. Personally I think that is bullshit. The band has recorded a few albums that have that Pyromania/Hysteria sound, including Adrenalize, Euphoria and the self titled album without being total copies, but even if you think about it, the band never sounded the same when Steve was alive either. Pyromania was a total departure from the sound of the first two albums, and Hysteria took the sound of Pyromania and expanded on it even more. Obviously Ricks accident played a huge part in the sound change for Hysteria, but to try to claim that everything about the early material is down to Steve is kinda weird.
