Sir Ian, I kow it sucks, but the best way to skin this cat is with support and of course a lot of mentoring/manipulating.

 

It's a phase he will grow out of, but if you don't let it happen thats when it gets worse...

I was originally going to say eat him too. If, however, that's not an option I'd confiscate his ears until he's ready to be sensible again. Or otherwise, destroy every device in your house that allows music to be played. Yeah, you'll miss out for a while too... but it may be worth it. For your child's sake.
