I prefer the old movies and recently saw the trailer for yet another remake of an old classic movie.

The Day The Earth Stood Still featuring Keanu Reeves.

Loved the original with Michael Rennie.

My favourite oldies are....

Invasion Of The Body Snatchers

When Worlds Collide

War Of The Worlds

The Day The Earth Stood Still

Who else likes the oldies?

I do like old movies but not Sci Fi as they are just too hokey for me.....but I love old Westerns, Adventure and crime movies......Sci Fi never really caught my interest until the late 70s when Alien and Star Wars came out with decent effects......

I was going to do an oldie film thread but went specifically with oldie Sci Fi

I prefer old films to more modern films.

The Westerns I will watch all day long, the epics too - Samson and Delilah, The Ten Commandments, Spartacus etc

The Day Of The Triffids and War Of The Worlds scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid. Same as Joan Crawford; not her movies per se, but just the sight of her was enough to make me run, screaming.

Fave oldies:

The original "Blob" with Steve McQueen (the late 80s remake was pretty bad-ass too!)

The 1950s "WAR OF THE WORLDS" (George Pal rules!)

I love some of the old Sci-Fi films. On a sad note, I just found this news... Beverly Garland has died. She stared in many of my favorite B-movie Sci-Fi films.
