I loved the debut especially the title track "My Own Prison" but that was before they got huuuuuge.

They were a good band but IMO Alter Bridge shits all over them now that Tremonti isn't limited in what he can play.

Plus Myles Kennedy is 10 million times the vocalist Stapp is/was. \

The second Creed album was good too but not as good as the debut and I never bought the 3rd and last release.

These guys got a lot of shit but most of that was for Scott Stapp being a tool not for their music.

Lets face it they were Pearl Jam of their Generation, but you can decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Alter Bridge is miles (pun intended) ahead of Creed as a band. (That said, I never got to see Creed live either, so I can't compare in that aspect. But AB's live show is incredible!)

 

I enjoyed some of the Creed songs. All the other issues with the band (their message, being poseur(s), etc), not to mention how over-played they got, all distracted from their efforts.

just had a listen and while i get bored of the Soundgardenny stuff (which the majority is) i really like songs like What If and Bullets...

 

i might have to check out whatever album What If is on cause i think that song is pretty awesome, and Bullets is very Alice In Chains in places!

had a look at their albums and im tempted to buy the Greatest Hits, cause Bullets is on Weathered....and im not buying two Creed albums, only really want one...

 

but for grunge its pretty good, although after checking out some Alter Bridge i agree that they are better (theyre heavier for one)

To be honest, I think I'm the only one who didn't really think Alter Bridger were any better than Creed. I'll pass on both. :)

Don't listen to Geoff, Alter Bridge are a killer band.

Great vocals, guitars and songs. Buy both of their albums. :tumbsup:

Been on a pretty big Alter Bridge kick here the past few week or so. And today, while mowing the lawn, I replayed Metalingus on my iPod 3 times in a row. That songs just RIPS. From the methodic, driving intro to the pick up at the end. In my eyes, not Song of the Day, but song of the last few months, really. I listen to others and always end up coming back.

 

Check out Alter Bridge before you do any worrying about Creed. Wes nailed this one dead on!
