Nightwish - Dark Passion Play (2 CD)

Yep that one came through my door this morning too. How much do you love that opening tune?

Pretty muchly - This disc is fucking huge mate!!

It sure is. The instrumentation just blows your head off. Some of the lyrics are incredible, & even though I'm not a fan of the more mainstream vocals, this chick sure can sing!

Well as some of you may know ran down to Portland this last weekend and let me say, even though I found a small handfull of cd's Portland sucks for cd scrounging! The cd's were few and far between and most that I saw were well overpriced. If you are into vinyl, Portland has tons of that, but for an average of $15 to 20 for a beat up ole Goodwill style slab of 80's butt rock I passed...

Tin Roof-S/T

Tragedy Ann-Lesser

Window Pane-S/T

Choirboys-Big Bad Noise

T. Lavitz and the Bad Habitz-S/T

Sunset Heights-Texas Tea

Slam Suzzanne-On THe Floor With Your Mom

Zwarte'-Easy Street (3 song single/3 different versions of Easy Street in the 10 song case! CURSES!)

WorldXXI-S/T

Tim Feehan-Full Contact

Billy Squier-Creatures Of Habit

Depth Charge-S/T

Panic-Fact (the only 2nd I found, If anyone is into a trade PM me)(stellar Metal)

Bill Hicks-Dangerous (Original release from 1990 on Invasion Records!!!!!!!!!)(WOOOHOOO!)

And in the post from Uncle Saxon:

Mardo-S/T

Itis-It Is Isn't It?

Sly-Key

Choirboys-Big Bad Noise

This week I picked up "Big Bad & Acoustic" by the Choirboys.

Includes acoustic version of most tracks from the Big Bad Noise album, plus a few extras.

Probably the best acoustic album I've heard.

did you know Choirboys have a new album out - just Easybeats covers or something! eek

Nah, hadn't heard of that one.

I love 'Big Bad Noise' (Gasoline kicks ass!) and the recent acoustic album. I have 2-3 other discs inbetween those 2, but none of the others really do it for me.

Big Bad Nosie was one of the albums of my youth alongside 'Slippery When Wet' & 'Open Up & Say Ahh' so I have a bit of a soft spot for those tracks I think. Know all the songs inside out.

Go back to 1989 and as an Aussie school kid this was one of very few aussie bands making it successfully on "Top 40 TV" ect.... apart from AC/DC. I remember one birthday I got 2 albums.... Blow Up Your Video (AC/DC) and Man Of Colours (Icehouse) - how diverse can you get.

There were quite a few singles from Big Bad Noise. Run to Paradise and Boys Will Be Boys were massive hits. Others such as Struggle Town made an impact too. My favourite has always been Gasoline.
