  1. Really hope this one is a grower as after a couple of spins it's just a plodder with not a lot to make me want to listen too many times. Missing a certain spark.
  2. It's a broad church. I saw Me first and the gimme gimme's the other day who claim to be 'punk' and they were awesome.
  3. Really sad to read this. Saw Shy back in 90 and they really should have been bigger than they were. Always seemed a very decent guy and his grace at the end confirms those thoughts. R.I.P.
  4. Seems we're all growing old disgracefully together.
  5. Ended up listening to this a lot this week. One of the best of the year, for me.
  6. Who likes Inglorious? Seem to remember they've been pretty well universally panned. What was that female vocalist that you could use to keep dogs at bay some liked? Something to do with somebody in Vega?
  7. White Widdow :-) Never got Dangerous Toys. Toto. Though as I've mellowed I do accept they have a coupe of good tracks. I'd add to the Judas Priest. Never got any understanding of why people like them and walked out after three songs when I tried to watch them after Whitesnake opened for them.
  8. Still listening to their first one this week and still really liking it.
  9. Downloading now. Hadn't spotted it had dropped. Edit: That voice. So much emotion. Very impressive first listen.
  10. Right. Been listening today and I quite like it but given it seems to have been released in February that line really confused me.
  11. I'm confused. Is this the same band as this... https://melodic-hardrock.com/first-night-first-night-2019/
  12. Little surprised at all the love for Muna. I think their first album is absolutely superb and I think I remember seeing on their Facebook page a second is out this year. That song didn't grab me as their past work but I look forward to hearing it in situ with the rest of the album.
  13. Super. I was wondering what happened to them as I enjoyed their last album.
  14. Just listened to their new album. Very pleasantly surprised. This is good stuff. Arguably slightly samey but highly enjoyable. Will have to dive into their back catalog. Really like this track.
  15. IMO comfortably the best thing Donnie Vie's been involved with since Strength. If you like early Enuff z Nuff you should like this one. Most , if not all, songs up on Youtube.
  16. The challenge is as fans we usually want something like what we've heard before. For me Worlds Collide is the best rock album released in the last 20 years. There's something magical about it. Perhaps it's unreasonable to expect something similar , as pointed out, because musicians are in a different place when each album is recorded. Of course us consumers are in a different place when we hear new music as well.
  17. Not loving this a much as I wanted to. Agree , sadly, that it's missing a little crunch. Songs are good but just a little more edge and this could be really quite excellent. Pretty good though.
  18. Been listening to the Donnie Vie a lot this week. It's really the best Enuff z Nuff album in a long long time. Shame he's not in the band! Probably worthy of it's own thread.
  19. The New D.A.D. is their best for years. And one of the best live bands on the planet. The Storm is in my top 10 of all time. Amazing.
  20. This one a real surprise to me. Vocalist sounds like Chris Cornell. Scarily so at Times. Riffs Riffs Riffs with soaring vocals. Slams into my top 5 easily . Wonderful.
  21. And it is entertaining. Keeps you head nodding all the way though. Not too complex what they do but they do it very well.
  22. Ohh. Didn't spot they had a new one out. Usually entertaining stuff.
  23. It's not dreadful but some of the songs do sound somewhat like muffled operation mindcrime. Maybe an accident, maybe not. Certainly nothing as good but it's probably the best thing he's been involved with for 10 or 20 year.
