  1. Yeah, that'd be my favourite tune on the new TBS record. Nice tune... wish there were a few more killer cuts on the new album, though, to be honest. Man, I love that The Young Hearts stuff. Where'd you find that one? Seems way obscure. Will be checking it out asap. Between You & Me and Gold Steps both very nice albums / EP. Yeah, 'Bleu' is my favourite song on that new Broadside album. Album was a bit of a surprise - was expecting a more "rocking" affair, but they're a class band and it's another class album. That The Plot in You song is immense. Hope there's an album with that on it coming out soon. I'm not sure of my history with that band, but I must check up on it. Didn't realise that was the dude from Before Their Eyes. Rain City Drive = all class.
  2. Haven't seen that reaction video yet, but that dude loves this band! I bet raves about this one. For me it's solid, but these guys are just a rung below their peers like Creye and stuff like that, imo. Very much almost there, but just missing some really good hooks to elevate the nice sounding songs on this one.
  3. Yeah, pretty decent album. I agree I'd prefer it to the Nita Strauss one too. Favourite two tunes are the title track with Lizzy Hale, and, surprisingly, the dude from TFK delivers my other favourite, with 'Avalanche.' 'Runaway' with Starr and 'Fall of Man' with the guy from Trivium would be next up. Solid album with some sweet licks. Speaking of licking sweet things... mmmm, mmmm.... mmmm.
  4. Yeah, this is a good one. Really solid band. Not one I have bookmarked or anything, but if I recall correctly they've released a few good albums now. I'm not saying they sound like Victory, but to me they kind of carry the flag as a modern day version of bands like Victory from days gone by. Just good, catchy hard rock with some juicy hooks to sink your teeth into. Good stuff.
  5. I assume you put this one in the wrong thread? But on the topic of your off-topic post, I have been selling a bunch of old music magazines and every sale in Australia has been smooth, and every sale overseas has been some version of hellish. I've had one returned, months later, and one seems to have disappeared, and the ones that do get there are taking literal months. Fending off constant ebay claims, for the first time ever. The best part about it all? I pay exorbitant costs - well above what it used to be for decent/good service - for this horrendous service. Hard to think of many organisations I hate more than Australia Post.
  6. Very good album, but maybe not as mind-blowingly captivated by it as I thought I would be. But it ticks all the boxes. Good stuff.
  7. Ah, I remember that one. Picked it up for $2 at Merrylands back in the day. Millennium Music. Loved that shop so much, gave me countless gems at great prices through the years. But yeah, this was not one of them. Absolute shit, if memory serves.
  8. Lol, don’t leave me hanging, man. What album was I talking about?
  9. I'm not crazy about the accent, but the rest sounds awesome. Definitely worth checking out.
  10. Bit of a cinematic feature before the song starts, but these guys dropped a new song today. Absolutely love it but I hope they're not just going to release endless singles without an album in sight.
  11. Heard some more stuff from this... sounding really good.
  12. Heard this this morning and collapsed with glee. Love it.
  13. Nice song, and sadly one of the only really worthwhile songs on their final album. My favourite cut from the album, pretty easily.
  14. I heard 'Bombs And Battlescars' today and I'm a bit confused by it. Are the first 6 tunes new songs, and the others old demos? I was maybe a bit harsh on 'One Gun' initially, and I find myself not minding the first 5 songs, and 'Hang me out' is okay. 'Hogs' and 'All' are surely 'Inwire' leftovers and the last song I guess is a later attempt at recapturing the glory that 'Love don't live here anymore' brought them? Either way, it's not great. I like the sound and style of the new songs and more or less the production. A few of the songs could just use a little finesse, but not bad at all. 'Spellbound' is the stand out track, sadly, as a cover song. But I do like that one.
  15. For some reason, I don't think I followed up on this in 2020, but heard it today properly. Not a bad EP at all, and this tune was my favourite. Cool track with some nice riffage. I still echo what I said above... not bad.
  16. Not a bad album, but also a bit underwhelming, if I'm being totally honest. Favourite track is above and is named 'Where Do We Go From Here?' 'Nothing to say,' 'If Only For One Night,' 'New Life,' 'Dressed for success' (cover) and 'Everything Is Gone' are all nice tunes too. Don't love the faint "country" tinge I hear in the album's weaker tunes. But overall pretty solid.
  17. Night Rider - Night Rider 1 . Ruminate 2 . Collar 3 . Eyes of Luna 4 . Survive 5 . Nemesis 6 . Rearview 7 . Disaster (feat. Dana Willax of Kingdom Of Giants) 8 . Fearmonger (feat. Affiance) 9 . Cold War (feat. Ryan Kirby of Fit For A King) 10 . Antithesis 11 . Portals Really cool album, well worth checking out. I saw a write up somewhere suggest it was a mix of synthwave and post hardcore, but there's not much synthwave influence on here and it's not overly heavy either. Hard to pinpoint, but I like it a lot. Maybe like a more polished and less eccentric version of something like Blessed By A Broken Heart? Some of my favoured cuts; One of the weaker songs on the album, but a music video;
  18. Had to give this a spin today... too curious to do otherwise. Didn't like most of it, but the two songs above are a couple of the best, as well as this one; Overall I guess it's kind of okay. Didn't really do too much for me, though.
  19. Probably my favourite song from the album. It's okay in places, but not really my thing. Way too safe and by the numbers for me, personally.
  20. Another good new album. These guys are really consistent, I must give them that. It's kinda weird that there's still songs about Vext on this album... seems a bit long winded now, but that aside, the songs are generally all quite good. Like I said above, 'Legends Never Die' is actually one of the weakest songs on the album, but aside from that and a couple of others, the rest is all smooth sailing. Too many good tunes on a similar level to single out any standouts... just a good album. Bad Wolves - Die About It 1 . Intro 2 . Bad Friend 3 . Die About It 4 . Savior 5 . Hungry For Life 6 . Legends Never Die 7 . NDA 8 . Move On 9 . Masquerade 10 . Say It Again 11 . It's You (2 Months) (feat. KILLBOY) 12 . Turn It Down 13 . Set You On Fire
  21. A few more pretty solid new releases; American Arson - Sand & Cinder, Tide & Timber 1 . The Almighty Arsonist 2 . Low Tide 3 . Arrowheads 4 . The Heat I: Run 5 . The Heat II: Moonlight 6 . The Heat III: Goodbye 7 . Gaslight 8 . Hammer & Gavel 9 . Adversity 10 . Promises 11 . Blood Magnolia Park - Halloween Mixtape II 1 . The End: Emo Nite Rhapsody 2 . Antidote 3 . Breathing 4 . Do or Die 5 . Dreams 6 . Halloween Tip 1 7 . Haunted House 8 . Candles 9 . Dead on Arrival 10 . Halloween Tip 2 11 . Animal 12 . Loved by you 13 . Halloween Tip 3 14 . Life in the Usa 15 . Manic 16 . Halloween Tip 4 17 . Fell in Love on Halloween Straight Shot Home - The Reminisce Collection - EP 1 . Pendulum 2 . Developer 3 . Borrowed Time 4 . Everlasting Sun 5 . Reminisce Vampires Everywhere! - BELLADONNA 1 . The Dead Don't Sleep 2 . Cry Little Sister 3 . Ghost 4 . A Fire In The Atlantic 5 . Together In Death Youth Fountain - Together In Lonesome 1 . What Tomorrow Brings 2 . Requiem 3 . Fallen Short 4 . Identical Days 5 . Twin Flame 6 . Roses In My Backpack 7 . Clarity 8 . A Few Notes For Orpheus 9 . Patterns 10 . Haiku 11 . Breakneck Pace 12 . Together In Lonesome
  22. Was spinning their debut on Friday and just going through their videos now for a kick and thought I'd post them for fun in case someone shares my curiosity; And for what it's worth - I can't even remember this song, long, but I assume it's off 'Inwire'; I never realised they had so many singles (deserved) from that debut album. All the killer cuts too. I notice on wikipedia there is allegedly a video of 'Whisper in the rain' from 1990. I actually think that's a bit of a bland tune, but I'd be curious to see the video, mostly because it's from 1990. But I couldn't find that one on the Tubes.
