  1. I've heard it once and it was pretty nice on first listen. Will take it with me today and give it a few more spins. Ironically, yesterday I was looking for some music to put on that was easy on the ears (we had customers) so I whacked on my best of Donnie Vie folder. Been so busy lately I'd forgotten I had the new album lol
  2. Yeah, all about the hooks for this band. I've called for a 'normal' album, but can see why they won't do that. Loved the show they toured with where they did half crude and half covers.
  3. Me too, but Thin Blue Line is one of the more average songs of the album IMO. Hope they do more, and not take so long this time. Sadly, often when a band has taken years to make an album, they have been sitting on, writing and accumulating killer stuff. They release an album of the real cream, it does well, so they try to make another in a year or two. But this is a different scenario and they are more likely tyo pump out more generic rocky stuff that isn't very inspiring. Hope that doesn't happen though.
  4. I don't bother with ,ost musicians. good to keep track of new releases etc on Facebook. Exception is Ron Young who is laid back, open and easy to converse with. Also very intelligent and allows for others' POV's Michael Sweet may be a douche, but I got the opposite online. Saw a youtube clip of The Hard Rock Show (local cable like TV show in Oz) where the completely made fun of his wife's death while reviewing the album he made while she was dying. That was the last time i had anything to do with anything that show had to say. Fuck people who make fun of disasters and traumas. The new song above sucks for me. always was much more a fan of the ballady stuff since about half way through the Styper catalog. Up to then the heavier stuff was good, but it started to get all double bass drummy, screamy and boring.
  5. Saw this the other day. Clip is funny as fuck. Probably their best new stuff in years.
  6. I will get the Donnie Vie based on comments above. Fair fan, so looking forward to hearing it. For me 1. Cats In Space 2. Tesla 3. Mike Tramp 4. Geryview (have to include this as it's my daughters band ) 5. Sammy Hagar And The Circle - been listening to this and it's starting to grow on me. Recent ammy solo stuff has bee pretty hit and miss, and this one is kind of the same, but with a few good songs.
  7. Yeah, I was playing on words referencing that Cherone VH doesn't count. Nothing against him, Extreme are cool. Nothing against others who liked VH III I tried but just couldn't get into it.
  8. VH never toured Australia. this incarnation was never VH. Best we ever got was Sammy solo around the time VH arrived with Gary. it was a great show as well. Small venue, big crowd, fun show. kinda felt a bit like a Sammy Cabo birthday bash would I think. Didn't consider going to see VHIII for a second.
  9. Beat The Bullet never did it for me. uninspiring and mundane. I don't mind Yeah You Want It, but it didn't make ny best of folder. Revolve is great. I still put FU$ on compilations regularly.
  10. Songs off the first two DD albums which were bettered by some songs off The Defiants debut... Under The Gun Saturday Nite Boys Will Be Boys Live It Up Beat The Bullet Puppet Show Find Your Way Back Home Yeah You Want It Looks like a significant list, but the otehr way of looking at it is that the other 17 or so songs were all killer and Defiants can't compete with them.
  11. I listened to the samples and very Steel Panther, without the it factor. Could be ok after a few listens, but only ok. I've tired of Steel Panther being a bit samey of late so a clone band ain't for me.
  12. I started with Day Trip To Narnia. Loved it. So I went back for the first 2 albums. Started with the second one and it was good, growing after a couple of listens. So then I tried this first one and BOOM. I LOVE this album. One of the very few where I don't see any fillers at all. What a great band - hope to see them live some time.
  13. I was never a massive fan of the first album. Tried really hard, listened heaps, but the songs were all too samey for me. Eventually I picked out a bunch of songs that stood out slightly more and made a best of folder beginning with these. But they were never really stand out songs too much. Maybe Take Me Back and Lil Miss RNR Fallin' For You is pretty killer though. Ticks all my boxes
  14. Hannah Montana was on TV and I watched it. The one where she goes back home. Was actually ok. Filled the expected formula and was easy watching I need to get a life.
  15. Saw Murder Mystery, the new Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston movie which was OK I guess Saw Big Stan which I hadn't seen before and that was pretty good. Saw Vacation again with Ed Helms and Cristina Applegate. I love this movie the little brother is my hero.
  16. Started watching Vacation. The newer National Lampoons sequel I've seen it before, but I'm laughing hellalot on second viewing. That little brother kills me. Had to stop watching because I have work to do so I'll pick it up again in a few day.
  17. John Wick 3 - OK third movie. Same as before, with noting really new. Bit too much fighting. Lots of fighting is ok, but there was nothing that made you smile during the fights. I reckon the next one will be the last. Brightburn - Dick Superman. Actually far better than I thought. In fact better than most DC stuff these days. Worth a look.
  18. Only good thing about that was the bewbs
  19. Pales when compared to the Loud And Clear song of the same name.
  20. Yeah, I went looking for my copy and found that I was thinking of Inside The Vertigo which I still haven't given a fair amount of time to. Did a search for this pone and found it wasn't out yet, which is why I tried to get the 2019 releases thread up and going again. Damn time moves so fast before I know it I'm literally years behind...
  21. Paul Gilbert and Soto for me will be interesting. Probably should check out Hollywood Vampires. I think this is their 3rd album and I've never bothered with them.
  22. Looked up Divak, and I saved like 8 songs off that. Probably 3 or 4 more than should have made it, but have been in a Liberal mood.
