  1. Nightrain, how do you rate Spread Eagle. Considering you obviously have a love for the gunners and gave skid row debut 100 this should surely be one of your favourites? Playing it today and as usual it blew me away!
  2. Wow, that leatherwolf is waaaay say to low! Killer album. It destroys skid row, Mr. Big etc. Shattered you've rated it so low. It's a perfect blend of hard rock and metal.
  3. I loved great radio even tho I still skip some songs. Lots of tracks and some true classics and a lot of diversity. Agree with nightrain, mane attraction has too many ballads, the epic songs don't come close to lady of the valley or cry for freedom and who wants to hear vito do blues even tho the sentiment is right? All that said white lion never released a bad cd. I remember saving most of my pay when I was working/studying and bought a monster amp and speakers. Mane attraction was one of the cds I first listened to on it and the whole family shit itself at the beginning of warmongering. Give it a go, nice and loud
  4. What PeterS said, skip the White Widdow.
  5. Welcome, most of us are old. Our ears are even older, like dog years!
  6. The slow verse is pretty cool, was losing interest after the chorus but then the verse kicked in again. Weird song, that funnily I don't mind. Bit before the solo is weird. Lots of ideas on this one.
  7. I was incredibly disappointed with big game when it came out because I loved and played pride so much leading up to its release. After pride how could they write and lead off the new album with goin home tonight? Then after the monster little fighter have a track like broken home. Then there's baby be mine. I was heartbroken, would skip those tracks all the time. Funny thing is age does weird things to you. I must have managed to hear them enough that I now don't mind them at all and think this is a great disc, probably their second best. No one's talked about cry for freedom. For me probably their best song. Great mood, vibe and build up. Love it! Agree Geoff, production is not great but I think that's what helped make white lion's sound. Pride was pretty bad, as was fight to survive. Probably got it right for mane attraction but for some reason that album never sat with me as well as the predecessors. Shame we never got more music out of vito!
  8. Great list Nightrain! That must have been fun! I think we differ on a few. These for me are classics: Tesla Xyz Vain X Japan Lillian axe Warrant Kingdom come Savatage The Cult I really like these albums but I thought you rated them much higher than I would : Skid row - if this gets 100 then slave must be 125 Danger danger - good album but over produced and too samey. Mr big - never understood why people like this so much. Never heard that Fahrenheit cd and will check it out. Great list, great work!
  9. I really dig the zan clan - who the fuck cd. Zinny's vocals can be a bit annoying but if you like a good combination of shotgun messiah and earlyish Chris lanes then it's worth a go.
  10. How do you guys compare this to the first? Was about to order it without listening to samples and put on the previous cd instead. I see now why I don't put it on at all these days, it's pretty shit. Not sure what's amiss, dig the vibe, everything is sort of there but the songs are pretty weak. Does the new one blow the last away or is it more of the same?
  11. I'd shag it but wouldn't put a ring on it The singer is such a Vince Neil wannabe.
  12. I've lived with this for a month know and I'm not sure if it's low expectations but I'm really liking this. Jorn hasn't sounded this good in a long time and there is melody throughout with heaps of high points and in my opinion no real filler. Obviously mileage will vary given its a rock Opera. Also, I think those that don't invest ie. Buy music, won't give it a chance because it really shines after quite a few listens.
  13. I've been to a lot of gigs with 300 and less people. I doubt the band would want the crowd to sound like it probably was ie. 3 drunken guys louder than anyone else probably asking for a couple of van Halen covers!
  14. The difference between halestorm and Jettblack is simple. Jettblack has been on a downwards spiral since the debut and no one is expecting much, well not me. Halestorm is on the way up after a monster release with strange case. I think they will find it hard to live up to the expectations. I think the halestorm album will be a letdown after strange case but it will still be very good. I dig those songs, and so will the missus which means it will get more play in our house.
  15. How was it? The kids and I are fans!
  16. How am I supposed to live without you a hard rock classic? About as much as Celine Didn't my heart will go on! I used to like the idol shows but just switched off in recent years.
  17. Maybe he should have done a led zeppelin cover cd? That would have least bought him some attention and another war of words with Plant!
  18. I'm with AlphaMale, let's get a follow up to Rest In Sleaze! Sad news but stiff shit.... We might get 2 releases out if this with any luck!
  19. I guess it depends if you like two hot girls coming out of the sunlight or not? Perhaps you're more of an explode kinda guy? Jokes aside my expectations are really low for this one.
  20. Not yet, but I'll be picking it up. Love to hear Erik sing Kenny's songs.
  21. As much as I hate to say it but if you're talking breakthrough and 1983 it wasn't pyromania, it was quiet riot's Metal Health. There are a million bands you can cite as the 'first' but the main point to remember is success. A sound or genre only breaks through once it's a commercial success and metal health was the one... imo. Of course there are a million bands in the 70s and you can never look past the best one ever.... Queen!
  22. I like the Jail cd but have no idea how anyone can take anything away from that clip. It's way too short.
  23. I've only given it a few spins so far but bleed and scream atm seems like the better release. I think it's a combo of high expectations and track order - I like the first half of the album better. Still, great stuff and am sure will just get better with each listen.
