  1. The fact you are waiting for "the shots" speaks for itself. As for my Brew Crew, things could not have gotten off to a worse start. Leading 6-3 in the 9th against division champ Cincy, our closer gives up 4 runs, the final 3 being from a 3 run HR to the #7 hitter I believe.
  2. Best line of the article...LOL: "Kerry [Wood], that you came back to this team after playing for the New York Yankees makes me fucking sick to my stomach for you and your family."
  3. APRIL 29TH, 2011 LIMITED EDITION GERMAN IMPORT: 33-Track limited time offering features an AMAZING 2-CD collection where some of the world's best have contributed their hearts for a compilation to honor and pay respect to Japan! On March 11, 2011 one of the biggest natural disasters hit the country of our close friends in Japan. The earthquake, the tsunami and the followed devastation of the failed Fukashima Nuclear Power-plant forced the world to view inapprehensible pictures on TV, and sadness worldwide! AOR Heaven will contribute 100% of all profits to the Red Cross Japan. For the collection, some amazing UNRELEASED and VERY OUT OF PRINT contributions have been given, such as the following: Harem Scarem (Track from OOP "Demon Down"), Tony Harnell (Previous only released track as a digital download, now for this CD only), Torben Schmidt (unreleased), Royal Hunt (Live In Atlanta Unreleased), Johnny Lima (unreleased), Chris Laney (unreleased), Tommy Denander (unreleased with Mickey DEE on drums), Pontus Norgren (unreleased), FM, Fiona, Oliver Hartmann, Poison Sun, Shotgun Symphony and tons more, all unreleased tracks!
  4. Well this thread was killed before it ever got started....
  5. Ok, talk seems pretty slow these days, so let's try this. What is your 2010 lyrical moment? In other words, your favorite word(s), phrase, chorus from any song in 2010? Parasite City - Seven Years Lyrical moment: "When they call lights out, it's my visiting hours. She's right next door, tied up, tied up like before." Now Wes knows I would list the whole Seven Years song as my lyrical moment so I'll give a couple runner's up, just for Wes: Hansel - Wild Tonight Lyrical moment: "It must've felt like a prison break, full moon rising as you busted through the gates" Pussy Sisster - In Your Arms Lyrical moment: "I wanna wash my head and clean my soul, but I can't find the answer. This life, kills me like cancer."
  6. For a second my jaw hit the floor, I thought this was the Baby Jane of Sweden and wondered how I missed this being out already....I know they have one planned for release sometime this year.
  7. More blonde chick, less strange looks from the band on stage! Good song too.
  8. You found that Kane Roberts in a used shop? Wow that is a find. Yep, and it is mint condition, no cut out, punch holes or anything. I did a bit of a double take and then I figured it would be priced way too high, but it was $7, so I said "oh yes, she will be mine".
  9. From a used shop yesterday: Kane Roberts - S/T (wow, what cheesy artwork) Razamanaz - S/T Tribe Of Judah - Exit Elvis (Left For Dead has always been a killer tune for me, no pun intended) Dokken - Erase The Slate (2-disc edition with DVD) Great White - Shot In The Dark (finally, I have never owned this, always been looking, and there it was) Kingdom Come - Do You Like It (CD single in a pretty cool digipak)
  10. Actually, I forgot another odd one... Van Halen - Can't Stop Loving You cd single This is in a round black tin can, VH stamped into the tin on the front and contains 3 live extra tracks. Made in England. There is a sticker on the front that says this, and I quote: "Also available a second CD which, if you like, can be inserted into this tin". Weird. The back sticker gives more info on this second CD which is Can't Stop Loving You with 3 other tracks one of which includes "Crossing Over (non LP track)". Anyone have this and/or the second CD that I can put in this tin, if I like?
  11. Well, I normally don't stop at Pawn America but tonight after work I had a few things going for me: 1. Mrs. Jeff is working until midnight, so I have all the time in the world to f*ck off 2. It was payday Friday and I worked some overtime, so a little extra cash 3. Pawn America is having their all CD's are 99 cents sale. This is where I usually buy stuff I normally would not buy, like Modern rock, maybe some Pop or AOR that I would pass on. I had plenty more CD's in my hand but half of them were scratched beyond repair, missing the CD, or wrong CD in the case (typical Pawn America). Here is what I got for $11: 1. New York Dolls - One Day It Will Please Us To Remember Even This[/b] (2 disc limited edition, and brand new) 2. Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction CD single (Breakpoint and Go To Hell as bonus tracks) 3. Southgang - Group Therapy (I already have this but for 99 cents I had to) 4. Creed - Weathered (and 99 cents is almost too much for this) 5. Fu Manchu - The Action Is Go 6. Pat Benatar - Tropico 7. Monster Magnet - Dopes To Infinity 8. Avril Lavigne - Under My Skin (I have to hear what this little sleazy hottie sounds like) 9. Prince - The Hits 1 (already have this, for a friend 10. Prince - The Hits 2 (ditto) 11. Heavy Bones - Turn It On CD single (this is one of those strange strange finds IMO. No front insert, rear insert is a normal insert; only the one song though) Ok, now you can all hammer on me for the Avril purchase...let me say up front: Kiss My Ass!
  12. Good to hear...but maybe I'll wait for the Cool Edition II released in late November, 2011.
  13. I doubt this one will ever be "cheap" as in less than $15. But I could be wrong.
  14. BTW, I am very envious of those of you that live in Sweden or close enough to travel to all the concerts, shows, and events for all these great bands coming out of Europe.
  15. Good info guys, now that explains how a band with 1 release had such an amazing setup! I'll have to check those videos out this weekend.
  16. That's awesome, I would like to see these kids live.
  17. I was on the Dynazty website tonight. Have any of you seen the video for the song This Is My Life? To me, if that isn't Skid Row smack dab in the middle of 1990 between the S/T and Slave To The Grind, I don't know what is. The song is good, no doubt, but here is the thing that blows me away about this video...this looks like one helluva motherf'ing show being put on there. I have replayed that video a few times and I am impressed at the setup, the lighting, heck even fireworks? And the sound quality...amazing IMO (unless one of you tell me it is dubbed over). They only have one CD before this and maybe they shared this setup with many bands but still. I found Bring The Thunder to be killer hard rock with moments of sleaze. I was looking forward to their next release before...now I am REALLY looking forward to it. Seriously, if you like an up tempo power ballad, take the time to check this out. And if you don't, at least check out the video, I can't imagine too many here would feel it's a waste of time: http://www.dynazty.com/
  18. Bad Geoff, bad, bad Geoff Off that debut I like Shotgun Sally, Nine Lives, Her Monkey, Long Long Way From Home, Evil Angel and Judas Kiss. Coast To Coast is my favorite though, how can you go wrong with a song that starts like this: "Urban assault and bourbon, sin and gin Fear, amnesia, beer and breakfast on the bus"
  19. I've always liked this one. Monsters I never heard of it but it was listed on the streaming Netflix. Sorta interesting movie set a half century after NASA discover's life in our galaxy, they try to bring samples back and on re-entry the ship has issues and the life forms over take part of Mexico/USA. The movie is not so much about that or the life forms really but this rescue mission a photographer is assigned. Just decent and short enough for me to not regret the time I spent watching it. Main actress could have been a little hotter though I did like her haircut.
  20. Strangeways - Where Are They Now "It wouldn't take long 'til they realized"
  21. I have to check it out more. I have a hard time finding the 80's comparison's you made. Now, a few things... - That does not mean I am right/you are wrong, that is just my opinion of what I hear...plus I need to hear full length versions a few times - I like your review a lot, read every word and now I am looking forward to getting this one - I did like the samples I heard, probably even more than "The Heart Of Everything" So, cool, thanks!

    Books

I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell Just started it, some good writing, funny.
  23. Finally arrived in the mail today after ordering it some time ago, but it was delayed for whatever reason (out of stock maybe?): Hell In The Club - Let The Games Begin
  24. Great tune, great disc! Did Geoff ever have success making love to this video? Maybe that's why they blocked the other link.
