I still say, the samples, all but a few sound pretty darn good on Amazon.uk Maybe being a fan of sleaze rock the raw sounds appeals to me more.
  4. Do any of you know what they are talking about in the song Stranger? The "orange dressed foreign man" line is what caught my attention...significant historical event? Am I just being ignorant and should know this? I'm just a lonely boy and I play With my red kite in the sky I hold the string in both of my hands Try to teach it to fly But then the wind becomes much stronger And breaks my dream in two I see the light at the end of the tunnel And I'm running back to you Now I'm awake With the eyes of a stranger And I'm awake Out of my world of danger I'm looking 'round in our bedroom What the hell is going on I see an orange dressed foreign man Hanging on his telephone But then a voice tries to tell me What's going on tonight I had a fit a mental blackout I'll say goodbye to my red kite Now I'm awake...
  5. Anyone own this or have a good listen? If so, thoughts? Trailer from the upcoming Album of FOX "2012" featuring Mark Fox, Franky Fersino, Tony Castell and Reto Hirschi. Release: January, 20th 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKTiuNg5T-c
  6. Nice. What did you pay for that one? Through the door: State Of Shock - 'Rock n'roll Romance' ; glad to see this through the door. For both the Killinger and Shakra, shipping included, $25. The cd's were the same price and there was a discount on the shipping for the second CD...so just halving it, $12.50 total for each CD. Nice. Import CDs, hey? I'll check it out. I'm sure you found it but here is the link: http://www.importcds.com Killinger is on sale now (as is the Shakra)...about $4-5 off. I don't follow them close enough to know how long a sale lasts though.

  9. Doh! I can never get used to iTunes but I think I am in the minority.
  10. I am gonna take Tim's review and just note my opinion differences...which aren't many. This is a really good CD. 04. The One And Only - Absolutely stunning bland ballad. *I dunno, just the opposite of Tim's take for me 5/10 06. In And Out Of Trouble - Saxophone? Really? Strong AOR, but needs bigger chorus IMO. *The saxophone, while cool in some ways, catches me way off guard every time this song starts. It is totally 80's but in the George Micheal Careless Whisper sorta way....still a good tune so yeah, 8/10 09. It’s All About Tonight - Harder-edged rocker. Decent chorus, but average song. 6/10 *Not much to add other than I like this song a bit more, I'd go 8/10 *10. Downtown - This one builds nicely but just doesn't go anywhere. Decent but unspectacular. 7/10 I agree it does not go anywhere but in a strange way I actually think this is a cool ending to a great CD. It's like they purposely didn't go any further with it and that adds to the story they are telling in the lyrics. Sure, not spectacular but I'd go a notch higher, 8/10 Anyway, thanks for allowing me to be lazy and say ditto to your review with a few noted differences.
  11. In the mail today from Import CD's: Killinger - Killinger Shakra - Everest -this would have completed the Shakra collection but it is a digipak and the inside envelope holding the booklet came ripped...even though it was new/sealed. So my anal cd collector self is sending it back for an exchange.

  13. This is in older threads but I am looking for an update. What software do you use? What bit rate do you use? I use Audiograbber with the LAME encoder dll to make MP3's. I used to like it quite a bit. Recently they did an update where the software chooses what it thinks is the best bit rate. I am not quite sure about that yet. So...do tell.
  14. Arrrrgghh! Prepare to be boarded matey! Let's just hope the reviews aren't: Ugggghh. Prepare to be bored, mates. I LOVED! the last cd Lightning Strikes Again. Yep, me too, good stuff!

I'll be curious to see your or someone's comparison to MDD's first CD which I really liked.

Really? God it aint that different to the last album?? Agreed, those samples sound like they coulda came off New Religion. Granted the samples are low quality uploads but for the songs themselves I am very pleased. Even that ballad Only The Dead know sounds like something off Skid Row's Slave To The Grind. I didn't listen to the samples. I am basing it off the In The Night single alone and to me, yes it is very different from New Religion. Oh yeah man, try to check out the samples too...In The Night is good but the other samples you might find more to your liking.

  18. How do you guys have money for DVD's when there are so many CD's to buy?!?!

    Peepshow

It does indeed. but the new album sounds exactly like Crashdiet to me. Which is no bad thing Which reminds me I need to get my hands on their new one.

    Peepshow

I don't think that Peepshow wants to be Crashdiet, their music holds up quite well on its own, slighty harsher. Maybe they do want Crashdiet's record sales as I would have to guess they have not sold as many. This is a song they did for Reborn in Sleaze a Tribute to Dave Lepard. http://www.sleazeroxx.com/bands/various/reborninsleaze.shtml
  21. In the mail today... House of Lords - Big Money Shakra - Infected
