  1. Here are three songs from BTO - Rock N' Roll Nights that I'm really into now. What does everyone else think? These two feature Jim Clench from April Wine on vocals. Jamaica http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFFPamSRwNg Rock And Roll Nights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgJyV_3r5ug This one has Fred Turner on vocals. Heartaches http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2R9SwlD2rI
  2. I've had a chance to get into this and songs like A Little Too Much, Best of Me, Look Out Below and As Good As It Gets are excellent. I fully appreciate the greatness of this album and actually think it's better than Reach For The Sky although not as good as Detonator. Catchy, hard rocking tunes: I like it.
  3. Yeah sorry for resurrecting this thread. I was browsing and thought since I started such an amusing thread I should say something else. I don't mind Cher being on here; as someone else said, I don't have to listen to her after all. Thanks both of you for giving me a hearty laugh! I've never heard Turn Back Time (either that or I have heard it and can't remember it) but I still wake up in the night sometimes with Believe flying around my mind. Apart from Joan Rivers, she has the most stretched face in America.
  4. The only Cher I've listened to is the Shoop Shoop song and Believe. Both songs seem to stick on my mind like dog shit sticks to your shoe. Because of this, Cher will never be played in my house again.
  5. I got this album when I first started getting into music as I always liked Come As You Are (and I still like it). Overall, it's a pretty good album. Alice In Chains is a much better band however and In Utero has one of the worst songs I've ever heard (Rape Me). Grunge is like Britpop for me in that there are some great songs bundled with a load of rubbish and most of the grunge albums to which I've listened have had at least one or two good songs on it. Metal and rock music usually has mostly good songs on every album I hear which is why it's my preferred genre. One of the worst things is when bands like Dokken and Warrant attempt to do alternative/grunge music. Simply horrible.
  6. Not a bad track but has an average sound.
  7. I've seen several live performances on youtube and in my opinion they sound shit live. Stephen Pearcy can't sing: end of story. If it were the original line up I would reconsider however. No doubt a third of their set will be tracks from their new album about which I couldn't care less. Warren will do a tuneless solo for 5-10 minutes as will Bobby. I've heard and seen on youtube all the famous tracks played within the last year and a half and they sound and look like a shadow of their former selves. Ratt should die with dignity but they seem to want to extract as much money from it as possible.
  8. Crazy Nights is the only Kiss album with no filler so that was an easy choice.
  9. Complicated Man is a nice track. It sounds very Van Halen-ish to me. The album is definitely not as good as Giant III but is a nice addition to the discography. There is no real "filler" on the album just better tracks such as Promise Land, Believer, Two Worlds and Save Me.
  10. Wonderful album. It really grows on you. If you ignore the fact that Dann Huff is absent you end up with a really good AOR/Hard Rock album with excellent musicianship and catchy choruses.
  11. Winger Karma is an excellent album. Just listen to the excellent Pull Me Under or After All This Time. Very addictive songs.
  12. Hope they do reform. The first album was great and I love Justin's voice.
  13. Backed 100% That song is bad for so many reasons. Dream On and Over And Out are a million times better. Reason To Live, More Than Words and Miles Away are excellent tracks I can listen to again and again. Givin' Yourself Away by Ratt is pretty bad too. All the songs from Adrenalize are sappy.
  14. The clip sounds average to me. Definitely a modern influence there I think. Pearcy's voice also sounds dreadful.
  15. Tomorrow & Tonight for me. Hooligan came a close second.
  16. I'd rather be an Englishman than be a descendant of criminals. Personally I'd never go to Australia. Too much desert, the people speak in bastardised English and there are too many poisonous snakes and spiders. Place is a s**t hole. Culturally, Australia is most well known for producing such crap as Rolf Harris, Neighbours, Home and Away and another 10 dozen poorly acted soap operas. I'd be ashamed to come from the place. Even AC/DC (the only good thing to come from there) isn't technically Australian as Brian Johnson's English and the Young brothers are Scots.
  17. I like 70s KISS more than the 80s stuff with the exception of Crazy Nights but I agree their debut along with Dressed To Kill are two very boring albums in my opinion so you're not alone but I wouldn't call myself a big fan. 80s Aerosmith is better than the 70s stuff as well but I still like the 70s stuff although in my opinion all Aerosmith albums contain a lot of filler with the exception of Pump. I prefer AC/DC from the 70s but still like the 80s stuff. Back In Black was half filler for me too. Early Van Halen is good too. Bad Company are great whatever the decade. Thin Lizzy and Foreigner are also good bands from the 70s. One thing I will say is that speaking from experience 80s stuff is a lot easier to get into than 70s stuff. Having said that some 80s stuff was difficult to get into like Keel, Tesla, Motley Crue and Love/Hate; some were impossible like Twisted Sister. You don't have to like every band out there. One thing I'm not keen on is the more modern stuff. The new bands that started post-2000 just don't compare to the 70s and 80s bands.
  18. I'm astonished anyone could call F.U.$ filler. It's the best song on the album for me.
  19. If that song's filler I can't wait till I hear the good songs - it's brilliant! I'm still looking forward to this one immensely.
  20. I bought this release much more cheaply from ebay. It seems a seller on ebay bought a few from one of Vain's gigs and is selling them on ebay. I received mine today and it's 100% legit. Here's the seller. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/grey29 and here's the item. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAIN-ALL-THOSE-STRAN...=item2c527bfb61 It's exactly how Swazi on this thread described it: Jackie Rainbow records, four page booklet etc. EDIT: After listening to the album I'm pleased to say the quality is better than the mp3s I already had. I highly recommend this!
  21. Here's a video preview of the band and the new album on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evo_QeGhFv4&
  22. Me too. It's a good album but not as good as the first and the price is a bit too steep for me. I'm sure it will get released properly someday. This is probably Davy's way of making sure there is a market for it and getting money from all the diehards who've been waiting a decade or two for it. I'll wait till it gets cheaper. Ok, having it sent to the US from Germany is obviously going to make it expensive, but I have bought it and as far as I can see it is a silver-pressed CD and the sound quality is very good, allthough it doesn't seem to be remastered. At least it doesn't say this anywhere. The packaging is rather simple. Just a 4-page front cover, with the pictures of the 5 band members on the inside. No bonus tracks or anything like that. It's a great disc, imo, and I do not regret that I bought it ! smile.gif Fair enough. Bonus tracks would make me get it ASAP though. A good booklet would've tempted me too but as it's just the four pager like you mention it still seems too pricey for me.
