  1. Amazon.co.uk sell brand new copies themselves for £13.69, and at least one market place seller is selling it for less than £10, but for some reason I never understand, some market place sellers are selling it for £30+ http://www.amazon.co.uk/Round-One-Fist/dp/...1314&sr=1-1
  2. Just as an aside, stumbled on a bunch of old D2 demos. Some have Mike Pont on vocals, one has Andy Timmons on vocals and some have Al Pitrelli on guitar. Interesting stuff for the most part!
  3. Stumbled on these demos tonight. So so quality. http://rs103.rapidshare.com/files/87163595...Paris_demos.rar
  4. Just found a White Lion one on the Cleopatra website. http://www.cleorecs.com/dev/Details.cfm?Pr...&category=0 And Jetboy: http://www.cleorecs.com/dev/Details.cfm?Pr...&category=0
  5. Was searching Amazon.co.uk a few days ago, and stumbled on this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Glam-Fuck-VINYL-Pr...6410&sr=1-6 Then tonight, I stumbled on this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seventeen-Demos-VI..._mus_ep_dpi_lnk Both are on Cleopatra Records, and both appear to only be on vinyl (the Winger one seems to be a limited edition one). Neither really gives any indication of whats on them, other than the Winger one being demos, so I dont know if its stuff thats already available, or something new. Couldnt see anything on the Cleopatra website, and I know they have released loads of re-recorded comps, but they also got hold of loads of rare shit for the Hollywood rocks boxset. Also wondering what else has been released like this.
  6. I really like these guys as they really have a sense of old school 80s about them, with honest to goodness guitar solos, which are too often missing from most modern bands songs. This song could so easily have been sung by a band like Winger on the Pull album, and in fact, without the visual, I do get a very similar vocal tone to Kip at some points in the song. Fact is, I pretty much thought that the first time I heard this on the album as well, which in my mind is high praise!
  7. Ah but as great as Captain bring me down is, its not a very rocking song is it. Heartbreak suicide, another great song, is not that different to anything on Revolve. As I say, not saying there was anything wrong with the Laine era (hell, I even love Dawn), just saying I think the writing of the new album is more a product of working with Paul for so long, rather than being influenced by Ted.
  8. Thinking about it, nearly half of Four the hard way was written for Ted (generally the better songs), and they were the most rocking songs, so it seems that maybe Paul brought out the less rocking side in the writing. I love the albums they did with him, but maybe he is the reason this album isnt as rocking, not Ted.
  9. I own them all (cept the latest one as its on my Christmas list), and have to say that all the albums have their merits. A good starting point for anyone wishing to sample the earlier material is the One Team, One Spirit, 2CD best of disc and maybe the One Life, One Soul ballad compilation (although obviously the second one only shows the less rocking stuff, so isnt necessarily a good way to expose someone to the band, unless you wanna trick a girly into liking them ).
  10. The more I listen to this album, the less I think its like Teds solo stuff, and more that it sounds like the songs were written during the Paul Laine era, and Ted sang on them. In fact, there were a couple of songs that for a brief moment, I thought it was Paul singing, until Ted returned to his familiar tones. I certainly think that even if these songs were written after Paul left, they were certainly written with his vocal style in mind, as its definetly forced Ted to change his vocal style somewhat. That in itself isnt a bad thing, as the album is fuckin great, but I do think its gonna take them time to adjust to Teds vocal range vs Pauls, as althought they have been back together for years now, this is the first time they have written songs for Ted, in a long long time!
  11. psst dude, you might wanna look a few topics down the list
  12. I have seen them 3 times in the last 7 or 8 years, and they have always been awesome.
  13. Its the only Guardian album I own, and it is a great album, I agree!
  14. Very strange when you consider that its being listed as a track on the CD. Doesnt give people much reason to order from iTunes once the CD comes out if they are going to get one less track than the CD version.
  15. Ok, so looking at things, the US version has the same 12 tracks on, no less no more. Apparently though, if you pre-order on iTunes you get an exclusive pre-order track when you download it on Sept 29th. I cant see what the pre-order track is, but I would assume it will be one of the two UK b-side tracks. Might be worth someone checking out the US iTunes as it wont even let me view the US store!
  16. I have only ever owned two Vain albums. No respect, which I owned on cassette and then CD, is a fine slab of sleaze glam, but was totally different to pretty much any of the other bigger sleaze acts of that era. Fade was the other album I owned by them, and I personally thought it was a load of wishy washy tripe, and got rid of it pretty sharpish. Because of how bad I thought that album was, I never felt the need to buy any of their other albums as it made an impression on me that maybe they were a one album wonder. To each their own I guess.
  17. Well just got back from seeing them again....they fuckin rawked!! Wont post a load of pics this time, but they can all be viewed here http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1455...mp;l=dc57af6044 This one though, has to be shown. Steel Panther condoms given away at the gig.
  18. I'll take Kiss 77, but would prefer Kiss 87.
  19. Anyway, off out in a bit to go see them again!!!
  20. I asked them after the concert, "why don't you play Big Boobs?" Satchel replied "we havent learned it all yet" so take that for whatever you want!!! Its an ongoing joke with them that they dont know any other songs than the ones they play at a gig.
  21. I completely disagree that making music solely for money, is selling out. If that was the case, then pretty much any session musician would be regarded as such, as they dont usually write with the bands they work with, and are just guns for hire. Doesnt mean that they have sold out, just that they know its the best way for them to earn a crust. I dont think their is anyone out their who learns to play music that doesnt like playing music. Going to work selling items over a counter is what people do just for money, as very few people have the desire to do that for a living, but professional musicians do it because they love music, and if they can earn some money out of that, then more power to them.
  22. I dont have the CD, but I do have the song on MP3 if that is any use!
  23. Well I dont see that he has a leg to stand on really. The item is not only significantly not as described, but its also illegal. eGay policies these days are that buyers have a lot more protection than sellers, so hopefully you will not get a strike against you.
