  1. Hmmm, one German world champion vs ten British champions (eight of which are English) ...doesnt sound "all of a sudden"
  2. Also, this may be his more natural style, and the earlier stuff was him trying more to fit into the genre of the time.
  3. Midnight Dynamite was produced by Beau Hill, and Kip was often one of the session musicians/writers he would work with. At one point during the 80s, you could look through the credits of any Beau Hill produced album, and you would see the names Kip, Paul and Nate Winger.
  4. Congratulations to Jenson Button for tying up the championship with a true champions drive. Gotta love Brazil as a track as it certainly is one of the few tracks where overtaking is possible!
  5. I like it. Hated the Mariah Carey version purely cause I cannot stand her or her voice, but this is a ballad with little or no difference to a Mr Big ballad. Its a perfect example to me that so many pop songs can be easily adapted to the rock genre because the melodic rock artists are far more varied in their styles. Just cause a pop song is sung by some paint by numbers record company creation, or shitty annoying diva (as is the case with this song), does not mean the songs themselves are bad. Just the same as when Jaded Heart covered Anastacia and Danny Vaughn covered Leanne Rymes (although to be fair, I like Leanne).
  6. Did you know that Gun is now fronted by Toby Jepson of Little Angels fame? (Mark Rankin supposedly gave them his blessing to do so) They have been touring for a while now, but dont think there has been any indication of them returning to the recording studio, although they did debut a new song called Let your hair down, at some of their live dates .
  7. Dan wasnt just the singer and the guitarist but the main creative contributor in the band with his writing as well. In essence he IS the band much in the same way that Coverdale IS Whitesnake or Mustaine IS Megadeth.
  8. Wouldnt be the first time a band has lost out when a record deal falls through. Dont forget, if they recorded them, Portrait/Epic probably owns them.

  10. Good news is that RML plan on returning again next year, but are unsure whether they will bring back the Lacetti or switch to the Cruze model. They also want Plato to return with them, which is no real surprise, and considering how they became probably the strongest team on the grid by the end of the season, you have to say, they have a good chance of re-signing him.
  11. I dont see it as a distraction at all, being that its right at the end of the song. I mean, its not the first time a song has ended with a musician putting a childs voice at the end, and usually its a member of the bands children, and they just want to get their kid on the album. I think thinking about it too much is a bit pointless really. Its a damn good song, and the baby gurgle doesnt exactly make the song any worse or any better.

  13. If he is desperate for those CDs, and he genuinely made a mistake, then at the very least he should offer you some money for them.
  14. I thought that they had decided against running in the BTCC and were looking at the WTCC. I do hope that the pace of the Focus in the last couple of events is an indication of where they are gonna start the season next year. It will be nice to have some competition for the Chevys and BMWs now that Vauxhall is gone (although I am sure the cars will return in the hands of other teams like the Astras did). It would be nice to see some more manufacturers even if they are not factory entries, as that always adds for more interest.
  15. Its nothing to do with that, as they dont want Such back, its because Jon and the band want to keep him as a hired hand, meaning they only have to pay him as a session musician, meaning he does not get a share in any band royalties and record sales etc. Hugh is probably quite happy with that as he has been a session musician for years, and he probably makes more money by doing this gig permanently, than he did hiring himself out to all and sundry.
  16. I'd assume thats down to the promoter, as the band always comes out and does meet and greets for free every time they come here. They or just Steve, usually sit at the merch table, which gives them the opportunity to sell stuff to you that you can then get signed. I'd be very surprised if thats a band decision. They are listing a London date again in December, but the venue isnt listing anything on that date yet, so if it happens, I will be going, and will let you know what the meet and greet situation is.
  17. Been a Plato fan for years, and also a huge fan of both Toms (Chillton and Onslowe Cole), so yeah, as happy as I was for Plato, I certainly was gutted for Tom, but thats pretty much what makes the BTCC so great, take nothing for granted. I met Gio in his first year for Vauxhall when it was him, Chilton and Smith. At the time he seemed somewhat subdued as he was new to the series, and Chilton and Smith were both doing a fine comedy act with the fans, but he has certainly come out of his shell since then. You only have to look at the tv interviews he does to see how nice a guy he is. I actually used to be a fan of Neal when he was a proper privateer back in the day, when he was really taking the fight to the big boys, but once Dynamics got those Integras, which quite frankly should never have been in the championship as they were, in Platos words, mini GT cars. He became such an arrogant, whiney, cheating cock, it was unbelievable. He would piss and moan that Plato had done this, and Plato had done that, but was doing far worse himself. You only have to look at what he did to Plato the year before last, when he used his Honda to block him, so he could hand his future team mate the title, and the way he drove in the last races this year, to see that the guy should not be in a top line racing formula. Problem is, now that Vauxhall has dropped out, he will probably walk straight back into a seat at Dynamics. Lets face it, after the piss poor performance he has had in the Vauxhalls, he is hardly a hot property these days, so I am sure he will go running back to daddy.
  18. Funny thing is, everytime I listen to this, my favourites change. Just when you think "Ah man, this is a great fucking tune", another one pops up and you are trying to decide which one you like more. I think if I had to lay my money down on one track though, it'd have to be Rocket to your heart. What a stunning track (and god knows what rick kerch vzla is going on about on the main site, saying it sounds like grunge song)!
  19. Matt Neal is a dirty cunt and should be penalised for all the shit he does, especially as he is always crying foul of Plato. What he did to Jackson, was bloody disgusting. The races tho, were frikkin awesome, and Plato drove a blinder. Well done to Turkington and WSR, its always nice to see a story like this, with a true privateer team winning. I do hope Giovanardi stays on next year, as he has been really good for the championship, and the relationship between him and Plato is great to see (which must have irked his team mate Neal, no end).
  20. Followed up my meeting Bret Hart earlier this year by meeting Austin today. Really nice chatty guy, and was having a lot of laughs with the fans.
  21. Cant see anything wrong with that cover.
  22. Thats unusual, as usually those Extended versions are often repackaged versions of previously released live albums, with less tracks. Looks like they are doing it in reverse now..heh heh.
  23. I dont think the band have had much choice in most of the live and compilation CDs, its mostly all down to big record labels. I think the only two they had a hand in was the Key club one, and the live one released the same year, as that was sold at their shows. All the other live albums have been record label stuff.
