  1. No idea who this lovely creature is; she popped up in an ad from some site called Yandy.com that was at the bottom of a page I was looking at... she got my attention. ;-)
  2. Katherine McPhee of American Idol/Smash/Scorpion fame
  3. I enjoyed it. As others have stated, it's nowhere near the first few releases, but I didn't expect it to be. The production could be better. Good, solid hard rock overall though.
  4. You're welcome guys! Gal Gadot aka Wonder Woman
  5. Decided it was time to dig this thread up outta the mothballs... Danielle Panabaker from The Flash
  6. An excellent release for sure! Definitely deserves to be heard by the masses!
  7. http://www.hale-sarver.com/notices/Marla-Sellman R.I.P. MJ I'll never forget the hours we used to spend playing the song game and PMing back and forth talking about any and everything under the sun, but mostly music and our kids. I always think of MJ any time I hear something sung by Danny Danny Danny! Vaughn; think I'll fire up Tyketto's "Reach" in her honor directly....
  8. Just wanted to take a moment to note that if you swing by the main site, we've just hit exactly 18,000 CDs in the Heavy Harmonies database! That is a shitload of hard rockin' info! Thank you Dan for this wonderful site and forum! And so, without further ado, CD number 18,000 is... https://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=188&CDName=The+Final+Countdown+30th+Anniversary+Show+-+Live+At+The+Roundhouse&Letter=A Europe, a group firmly entrenched in the glorious "hair band" days of the 80s, but who have managed to update their sound over the last 13+ years and continue to put out new music. A wonderful example of what Heavy Harmonies is all about methinks! Looking forward to the next 1000 CDs! Mike
  9. Picked this one up a couple weeks back from Perris Records and have been playing it regularly ever since. Excellent AOR with prog elements throughout. One of my favorite releases of 2017 so far!
  10. Agree on nearly everything but then you stick Tyketto in at no 5 That's because he has wonderful taste in music!
  11. Okay, if you can get passed the gimmick, and a name that leaves a bit to be desired, there is some nice, crunchy hard rock on the 2016 debut from TPV. Like Dokken, Van Halen and Kiss were thrown into a blender... some nice guitar work here! \m/ http://youtu.be/STywiD_AgQg You can currently pick up the CD on eBay for $5 (or less) and free shipping here in the U.S. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAILER-PARK-VAMPIRE-CD-Kiss-Dokken-Van-Halen-Alice-Cooper-Sivad-style-music-/272521378485?
  12. I have Amazon Prime, so the brunt of my new cd purchases are made there, along with EBay and occasionally NEH.
  13. Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES. Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band Crossbones. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy, Magnum and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself. “This new project, “CrossBones” was created with the intent to pay homage to the band from where it all started,” says Dario. For the occasion, he brought back the drummer of the original lineup, Ezio Secomandi together with his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer is Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, Krokus), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home. “This album includes the best of all the experience I gathered in my career in music and in artistic production,” concludes Dario. The quality of the material he recorded is witness to that. The album is planned for release towards the end of 2016, with tour dates to follow. For more info on Dario and Crossbones, check http://www.dariomollo.com. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://metalshockfinland.com/2016/07/08/dario-mollos-crossbones-sign-with-frontiers-music/

  15. Late in 2015, while surfing the main site, I noticed that there are quite a few "classic" bands/artists not included here at HH. I approached Dan with a listing of artists who I thought should at the very least be considered for inclusion on HH. What we need now is your feedback. Do you feel strongly that any of the following should be included on HH? And on the opposite side of the fence, are there any that you feel absolutely should NOT be included? Have other suggestions? Throw 'em out there! Anywho, enough talkie talkie.... here are the groups/artists: Pink Floyd Cream Jimi Hendrix Amboy Dukes Blind Faith Mountain Trapeze The Who Barclay James Harvest Peter Frampton Joe Walsh The Edgar Winter Group Heavy Metal Kids Black Sheep (Lou Gramm's first band) Mama's Pride Boxer (UK band) Phoenix Kenny Loggins I personally feel that Jimi Hendrix, Peter Frampton and Pink Floyd should be included for sure, and we should maybe do something with Kenny Loggins similar to what you see done with Cher on the main site, where we would include only his 80s output that fits on HH... Thoughts? Suggestions? Fire away. Mike
  16. Listened to this one a couple times through today, and the one word that springs to mind is underwhelming. They definitely got hopes up by throwing "Let's Go" and "Dangerous" out to the public first. Maybe it'll be a grower....
  17. Yeah, that cover is the lone clunker on the CD IMO. "After Forever" happens to be my favorite Black Sabbath song so I'm a pretty harsh judge when it comes to covers of it.... I'm sure they thought they were being clever when they were recording that song, like "Lookit us, a Christian band covering Black Sabbath! Woooo, aren't we being all ironic 'n stuff?" But Keith, they already did an ironic Sabbath cover... "Heaven and Hell" from 2011's The Covering.... best song on the disc too.
  18. Sounds like it's building to a big chorus.... and then it never comes. Disappointing.
  19. My top 10... Dokken - Back For the Attack (My favorite release EVER. Period.) Def Leppard - Hysteria (I remember calling into Dial MTV and requesting "Women" over and over when this one came out!) Van Halen - 5150 (Eddie + Sammy = Fucking Awesome) Guns n Roses - Appetite For Destruction (Legendary Sleaze) AC/DC - Back in Black (Just plain awesome) Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime (Love the story) Cinderella - Long Cold Winter (My favorite blues influenced disc ever) Warrant - Dog Eat Dog (Jani is/was incredible here!) Ratt - Ratt n Roll 81-91 (The best single disc Greatest Hits/Best of collection ever put together in my opinion. I've played this one to death over the years) Brother Firetribe - False Metal (I come back to this one over and over) Ask me this a month from now, and you may get 4-5 different answers... Y&T - 10 Tesla - Mechanical Resonance Whitesnake - S/T 1987 Bon Jovi - Slippery Pretty Maids - Pandemonium are all releases I come back to over and over as well.
