  1. Been listening to this one in the car for the last week and really enjoying it. While "Better Than Sex" is the standout track for me, I also really enjoy what they did on their version of The Beatles' "Help". It's so different that I didn't recognize the song 'til the chorus the first time I heard it. I kept thinking, "Damn, I know this song, what is it?" and then when the chorus hit, I was like "Well slap my ass and call me Charlie!" As for the sound quality, I refuse to let production or mastering stop me from enjoying the SONGS that a band has put together for their fans. In this, the digital age, everything is being mastered as LOUD as possible so it will sound good on little Sally Sue's IPOD, with no thought to what might happen when an actual CD is played on a decent sound system. Most any music coming out these days distorts at high volumes, so you tweak and fine tune as best you can, and just enjoy the music... or at least that's what I choose to do.
  2. http://www.brobible.com/entertainment/video/eatin-pssy-kickin-ass-ben-show LMAO..... WARNING: This one does take an unexpected turn....
  3. Wow.... it does not seem like nearly 5 years since Nostradamus came out. Where has the time gone? But yeah, hopefully it will be MILES away from that two disc set of plodding tedium.
  4. From http://judaspriest.com/ and http://www.rockconfi.../#ixzz2N502ig8d Saturday, March 09, 2013 The guys are working in the studio on their new album - and all is going is really well! We will be releasing the live 'Epitaph' DVD & Bluray soon - release date to be announced shortly! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRIEST‘s forthcoming album will mark the recording and songwriting debut of the band’s new guitarist, Richie Faulkner, who replaced co-founder K.K. Downing in 2011. Asked what fans can fans expect from the group’s next CD,JUDAS PRIEST lead singer Rob Halford said in an August 2012 interview, “We’ve already got a strong cross-section of ideas, some of them complete, some of them in bits and pieces. It’s shaping up to be quite intense, in terms of the riffage and the strength of certain tracks. Much like every time you try and talk about music, it’s practically impossible to capture it. You can only point it in the direction of where things are shaping up, and it’s just glorious. If I try to pinpoint it, there are elements of ‘British Steel’ and there elements of ‘Painkiller’ in terms of the vibe. We’ve got a really solid record coming together slowly in a strong metal way that will make all of our PRIEST fans around the world very happy and content. At least I hope it does.” Regarding a possible release date for the new PRIEST album,Halford said, “I’m not really sure. It’ll be ready when it’s ready. We’re not under the same clock as we used to be. I remember in the ’80s we were banging out a record almost every year, and that was on top of putting in a world tour. We have the luxury now, if you want to call it that, of taking our time. And that’s just because that’s the way it is. We’re just as eager to get this done as ever, but we do it at a slower pace. It’s that British thing, you know? [laughs] It’s that monarchy thing. Let’s look forward to that moment for anotherPRIEST record for everyone to bang their heads to.” In a November 2011 interview with Ultimate Classic Rock,Halford stated about PRIEST‘s plans for the upcoming CD, “Glenn and I started to write in the early part of January [of 2011]. We just went to it from the heart really, there was no specific agenda or idea, as opposed to what we had to do with ‘Nostradamus’, which was very focused and a real anchor of a project. This one has just been some straight-forward, classic British heavy metal. Some of it feels a bit like ‘Painkiller’, some of it feels like ‘Sad Wings Of Destiny’, some like ‘British Steel’. We didn’t do much research, we didn’t bother checking some of our previous releases, we didn’t do any homework, we just sat down and played, you know? Glenn came up with riffs and I came up with vocal melodies. There was no outside influence or interference in the writing sessions. We just started the day, plugged in some amps, got the mic up and made the metal that way. It’s a very pure record, in that respect.”
  5. OK then, how about some Kaley Cuoco... and just for the heck of it, some current pics of Danielle Fishel (Topanga from Boy Meets World):

  7. http://www.stonetemplepilots.com/news February 27th, 2013 - Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland - no further information is available at this time. -------------------------------------------------- While I'm of the mindset that without Scott there is no STP, it'll be interesting to see how both sides proceed. <sarcasm>Hopefully all that pesky touring wasn't cutting into his snorting time. </sarcasm>
  8. Congrats on the new little rocker to you and the family Geoff; he's adorable!
  9. Just to clarify, the choices I've listed aren't necessarily my favorites (heck, I don't even own probably 50% of releases listed) but the ones from each year that I felt matched up well either stylistically or via former bandmates competing against each other. I may include an indifferent/don't own either as a third voting option in future polls.
  10. 2009 versus 2010 Some of the best square off, along with match-ups that are pretty much self explanatory. 2009 releases are always listed first in each poll question, 2010 releases second. Poll choices are public, but feel free to expand on your picks! *No idea why I've waited so long to do another one of these polls; working on 2010 vs 2011 now!

  12. The sample for "Kings of Demolition" sounds pretty damn good to me!
  13. http://skidrow.com/ SKID ROW INKS DEAL WITH MEGAFORCE RECORDS New York, NY – Legendary rockers Skid Row have signed a deal for North America with famed metal label Megaforce Records. They will join the ranks with label mates Anthrax, Bad Brains, and Lit amongst others. Armed with a new EP entitled “UNITED WORLD REBELLION – Chapter One”, the band has scheduled an April 16th release in North America with an international release date to be announced shortly. Recently, Snake Sabo stated, “We’ve known the Megaforce family and their various incarnations since 1982. Their history and legacy speaks for itself. We always thought, that at some point, we would work together and this turned out to be the perfect time and vehicle for us to finally do it. They have a sincere belief in what we’re doing and what our vision is which is really rare today. Needless to say, this is a very exciting time for us!” “UNITED WORLD REBELLION-Chapter One” is the 1st new release from Skid Row since “Revolutions Per Minute” in 2006. This marks a departure for the band, as they will be releasing “UNITED WORLD REBELLION-Chapter One” plus 2 more EP’s over the next 12-18 months as opposed to 1 full-length collection of songs. Rachel Bolan explained, “We wanted to do something different. Living in an age of information overload it seemed like the perfect time to try something new. We came up with the idea to release 3 consecutive EP’s over the course of the next year or so. This way we have new music out there on a consistent basis. And who better to do that with than Megaforce? They practically invented the EP! United World Rebellion – Chapter One ROCKS!” (Below is a 1st look at the United World Rebellion -Chapter One cover art). To coincide with the release, the band will embark on a world tour beginning April 4th in Ipswitch, England. This will carry them through the UK along with stops in the Czech Republic, Sweden, Mexico and Korea just to name a few. In the coming months this will be followed by a full-on North American tour. 14. Their Facelift album is/was pretty damn metal for its time. There's a lot of Sabbath influence running thru that album (big doomy riffage!)... Shoot, one of their first major road trips for that album was the "Clash of the Titans" U.S. thrash package tour as the openers for Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth. They opened for Poison too. They also opened for Van Halen on the F.U.C.K. tour...
  15. I own every AiC release, and plan on picking up the new one as well. While I've always been more of an 80s hard rock type of person, I do listen to all kinds of music, and that includes a few of the groups associated with the Seattle/grunge scene. It's a complete 180 from what I normally listen to 95 % of the time, and I usually find myself listening to it when I'm in a bitter/aggressive mood, and it seems to help me work through my issues. Nothing better than cranking up "Man in the Box" after a shit day at work and letting the angst flow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAqZb52sgpU I also own everything from Stone Temple Pilots... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5UOC0C0x8Q Obviously not as "dark" as AiC, but they seem to draw similar ire. And one more... the vastly underrated My Sister's Machine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN71tbLAqfc Why do I like 'em? I just do.
  16. I could easily see the ex-wife being in on everything. I don't think Mike is a Follower at the moment, but I could see Joe getting in his head and converting him somewhere down the road.
  17. Actually trying NOT to listen to the samples of this one, as I'll purchase the day it's released, and I want to be at least semi-surprised by its awesomeness! Couldn't resist watching the Mother of All Lies video when it came out; kicks all kinds of ass.

  19. Looks like Harrison Ford is on board: http://www.bleedingc...rs-episode-vii/ Rumour: Han Solo And Harrison Ford A Done Deal For Star Wars Episode VII Previously, we heard that Harrison Ford had a particular plan for Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII. Just as he’d originally wanted for Return of the Jedi, Ford was looking to get Solo killed off. That’s gratitude for you. Or maybe he just wants the big funeral with all that fanfare. Back in November I said: Harrison Ford will be happy to reprise the role of Han Solo, pending the confirmation of script and director. He may well be asking for the character to be killed off, however, just as he originally wanted to happen in Return of the Jedi. Ultimately, the death clause seems to be less important than script and director approval. But perhaps Ford has settled for as little as one out of the three conditions as, according to Latino Review, he’s now fully signed on and committed to appear. So, we don’t know if Solo is up for the chop, and we don’t know if the script is done yet, but we do know that JJ Abrams is on board. That may have been enough. Ford and Abrams have history, having respectively starred in and written Mike Nichols Regarding Henry. That film gave me my first exposure to Abrams – I remember seeing him on BBC 2′s Talking Pictures as part of a feature on amnesia in the movies. “Who’s this kid?” It seems that Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will also make some of appearance in the next Star Warsfilm, though nobody has stuck up their hand to say that’s a done deal. Yet.
