  1. Yeah, they added some “oomph” to the song that really puts it over the top. I do enjoy the Fair Warning version though.
  2. From Wikipedia: She Don't Know Me" is a single by American rock band Bon Jovi. It was the second single from their self-titled debut album Bon Jovi (1984). It was written by Mark Avsec (of Donnie Iris & The Cruisers fame) and charted at #48 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1] The song has the distinction of being the only release in Bon Jovi's entire discography that was not written or co-written by a member of the band. In the early 1980s, fresh off a stint playing in the band Wild Cherry, Avsec wrote and produced the debut album for the disco band LaFlavour, who scored a pair of minor hits with "Mandolay" and "Only the Lonely (Have a Reason to be Sad)"[2] upon the album's release in 1980. At the time, Bon Jovi and LaFlavour were both signed to labels owned by Polygram. By the time Avsec composed LaFlavour's follow-up album, however, the band's name was changed to "Fair Warning", and their disco image was scrapped. "She Don't Know Me" was one of the songs Avsec penned for the upcoming record, and it appears as the lead-off track on what was to be Fair Warning's self-titled album. However, around this same time as LaFlavour's transformation, PolyGram was preparing to release Bon Jovi's debut album, and they were looking for a strong hit single. The decision was made for Bon Jovi to also record "She Don't Know Me" and feature it on their own debut album. This prioritization of Bon Jovi, combined with the fact that Van Halen were releasing an album with the same title that same year, caused the stagnation of the Fair Warning project. Beyond a few promotional copies,[3][4] Fair Warning's self-titled album would never be officially released.[5] Incidentally, it would take several more years for the Bon Jovi album to materialize. Meanwhile, in the ensuing interim period, two already well-established musical acts covered the tune. The well-known 1960s/70s band The Grass Roots included a version of the song on their 1982 reunion album, Powers of the Night.[6] The following year, former Outsiders and Climax frontman Sonny Geraci recorded his own version of the tune under the pseudonym "Peter Emmett" (backed by the Donnie Iris and the Cruisers band, including Avsec).[7] In 1984, Bon Jovi's self-titled debut album was finally released, and "She Don't Know Me" was released as a follow-up to the band's first hit, "Runaway." In addition to the studio version of the song, a live version also appears on the Document in Japan bootleg recorded on 28 May 1985 from the 7800° Fahrenheit tour. It is an extended version of the song lasting 8:24, commencing with a 3-minute drum solo. The song has not been performed live since the mid-1980s.

  6. This one arrived in the mailbox Friday; more pure METAL than his recent output with Queensryche... digging it so far. Added over at Brutal Metal today: https://brutalmetal.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=11707&CDName=Rejoice+in+the+Suffering&Letter=A
  7. Official statement on the site now: NEH Records LLC has been in business now for over 25 years. I formed the business with my partner, Bobby Barth back in the 1990’s. At that time we functioned as a production company with a recording studio and as a distributor with ecommerce retail sales. We were one of the very first companies in the world to sell music on the internet. In 1999, we decided to divide the company. Bobby moved to Louisiana to front the Southern Rock band “Blackfoot” and took over the production and recording studio assets. I continued to operate the distribution and ecommerce portion of the business from my office in Colorado. Bobby retired a couple of years ago and it is time for me to do the same. I am currently exercising an exit strategy that will result in the closure of NEH Records within the next few months. Toward this end, we stopped adding new releases and restocking older titles in December of 2020. We are also selling off all of our inventory and will continue this until all are gone. We add new SALE items to our web store on Wednesday of each week. In addition, we are selling off a number of very rare, collector’s item CDs that we have had in storage for decades. These are in the RARITIES section of the web site. These CDs are new, in mint condition and in many cases, still in the original factory packaging. They are priced competitively with other sites that sell CDs of this type (eBay, Amazon, Discogs, etc). It has been a pleasure serving the Melodic Rock music community for all these years. We appreciate the support and friendship we have shared with our customers, the artists, the media, our suppliers and other music business owners and their employees. We will miss you. Michael McPherson: Owner, NEH Records LLC

  10. This has been discussed on the Melodic Mafia Facebook page, and it appears to be legit, so I thought I'd let everyone here know that sometime later this year, NEH Records will be closing up shop, as owner, Michael McPherson plans to retire. There will be no new releases carried going forwards, and there has been a "rarities" section added to the site where he is listing older, now out of print releases, with most being sealed. Discs released in the last few years have seen pretty dramatic price decreases as well. I absolutely HATE to hear this, as NEH Records has been my Go To site for many years, and Michael has ALWAYS provided top notch service. NEH Records will definitely be missed; thanks for all the CDs https://www.nehrecords.com/
  11. 5:08 EST the tear gas has come out 👍
  12. Capitol building being evacuated for the first time since 9/11. How embarrassing for our country. Just sad. Tear gas em, hit em with water cannons, hell, bring out the tasers and rubber bullets like we’ve seen at other “protests” over the past year.
  13. My copy arrived yesterday, and I was quite impressed on the first spin! 🤘

  15. This has become one of my favorites over the last few years; I prefer this version to the Lovemongers/Heart version:
  16. I wasn’t allowed to say anything until today, but it's now okay for me to share that I have volunteered for the Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer. The vaccine is the one that has been developed in Russia. It is in 6 different stages and I received my first dose this morning at 06:20 am, and I wanted to let you all know that it is safe and I’m ok, with иo side effects whatsoeveя, and that I feelshκι я чувю себя немного стрно и я думю, что вытл осные уши. чувству себя немго страо. Komrade.
  17. I thought the same thing; waaaaay too “busy”. Could’ve been superb if they’d kept it just Tears For Fears and Crue.
  18. 2020 has been quite a bit better than 2019 music wise... and that’s the only regard in which it’s been better. 😒
  19. New video for Save Your Soul released today... The official audio for Move a Mountain, one of my faves from his new album
