  1. Emerald Rising brings back that 70’s flavored hard rockin heavy guitar riffs with driving rhythms and power vocals. The band consists of seasoned musicians from Long Island, NY who have toured all over the world with other bands. Together, their chemistry is explosive and have created the hard rock that you’ve been missing and love! Emerald Rising was formed in 2017 by guitarist Thomas Cavanagh and vocalist Daena D. As the song writing progressed, they realized it was time to rock with a full band. They added Chris Parrett on bass and John LaSpina on drums. This powerful quartet is working hard recording at DCity Studios and Bent Pussycat Studios in Huntington, NY and will release their first collection of 10 songs on October 1, 2020 01. 2. From Tony's Facebook page: It is with great sadness and sorrow to announce that Tony Lewis has unexpectedly passed away. He was a beautiful soul who touched so many lives with his love, his spirit, and his music. He loved his fans dearly and enjoyed every opportunity he had when meeting all of you. Please respect the family's privacy during this difficult time. - Team TL https://www.facebook.com/tonylewismusic/ Fuckin' 2020 strikes again....
  3. These guys are on fire! Two excellent albums in a row! This one is a particular fave (featuring Tom Morello on guitar)... And a great (IMO anyway) cover of Kiss' "Do You Love Me"
  4. This isn't a tribute, but is probably the BEST interview I've ever seen with EVH. A good friend sent me the link to this earlier this year, and I've watched it several times, never imagining that we would lose him so soon. RIP Eddie

  6. https://www.facebook.com/wolf.vanhalen.7 From Wolfgang Van Halen's FaceBook page: I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning. He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am fucking heartbroken... no words right now. Fucking cancer... Mike

  8. The Struts Announce ‘Strange Days’ Album, Issue Title Track Featuring Robbie Williams Like many acts, The Struts found themselves in writing mode once the pandemic hit, but the group is delivering a quick turnaround, announcing that a new album is coming soon and issuing their second new song in as many weeks. The latest cut to drop is "Strange Days," featuring Britpop icon Robbie Williams. "Ladies and gentlemen, today we are very pleased to announce our new single and new album, Strange Days," write the group. "We are honoured to have one of our musical heroes, the legendary Robbie Williams, featured on the title track." They continue, "Finding all of our grand plans for 2020 canceled or postponed early this year, we gathered together safely in the studio and wrote and recorded the entire album in just ten days. It was undoubtedly a magical ten days for us -- and we hope when you hear the album, it gives you a taste of that magic too." The new album will arrive on Oct. 16, with pre-orders being taken via the band's website. The group previously released the song "Another Hit of Showmanship," which also featured a special guest -- The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr. Stay tuned for more details about the album as they become available. 9. I know this rockabilly/boogie music won't appeal to many here, but the imagery from the video reminds me of the show/comic Preacher, so I'm drawn to it...
  10. Well, it took nearly 15 months, but another 1000 CDs have been entered into the database here at Heavy Harmonies, with number 21K being: Def Leppard - The Early Years 79-81 which is actually a FIVE disc set, that I think represents very well exactly what HH is all about; a love of all things melodic/hard rock! Thanks to everyone who still takes the time and effort to submit CDs; it helps out tremendously! Mike

  16. I know her blues based rock isn't going to appeal to everyone here, but Gawdd@mn I love this song! She is a total badass! Right now... right now I'm feeling it! Another fave
  17. You can listen to their unreleased 1992 album "All the Fools in Town...Are on Our Side" at https://soundcloud.com/sweetaddiction-gb/sets/all-the-fools-in-town-are-on-1
  18. They do a damn fine version of the Firehouse hit; of course, with former Firehouse bassist Perry Richardson in the band now, I guess they ought to!
  19. No full length album as far as I can tell, just several singles/CD singles.
