Not gonna lie, thought the remix of "Only the Young" was awful. Strips out everything good about the song and makes it sound like some genetic Frontiers (har har, the irony) project song.

After getting over the shock that this was not Journey covering Pretty Boy Floyd's 'Only the young,' I actually gave them both a listen. It's quite unique, innit, and I don't hate it. Don't think I'd go out of my way to put them into my listening rotation, but yeah, it's pretty cool.

This song (original version) is very near and dear to my heart... I played the VisionQuest soundtrack and then Raised On Radio pretty much non-stop my senior year of high school and the summer following graduation (1985 - 1986).  The warm summer nights now more than 37 years in the rearview mirror... Still seems so close I can almost touch it.

This remix is dark and brooding.  Vocals are still Perry, but everything else makes this one a depressing listen for me.  Like rain on the 4th. of July.

IF they had used the ethereal vox as an intro and then used more of the song "as is" ... i'd have loved it. The entire song stripped down and techo-fied is ... meh.
