Spread Eagle - Subway To The Stars

I'm going to have to agree with Wardy here. The 29th of Feb minus that very bad break b4 the guitar solo sounds like a King of The Dogs crossed with This Is My World. It would be better if Ray could get up into those glass shattering wails he did in 91 but this is the best thus far and if the remainder of the disc stays like this in lieu of the 1st few pop punk tunes I'd be happy.

Cheers, listened a ton to the entire album released here today and gotta say am super impressed.

The title track out the gates, More Wolf Than Lamb, Dead Air all as great as 29thFeb with that Open To The Public feel, and Cut Through, even when dabbling elsewhere such as with Valentines, all strong stuff in my books and Ray still let's out the occasional scream ;)

I'm not sure fans hoping for a return to the debut will think such but fans of both or just OpenTTPublic should find plenty to enjoy.

Personally loving it \m/

This is simply not the same band without Paul DiBartolo. His songwriting and playing gave them a step up over most bands. This is kind of like having White Lion without Vito. Didn't DiBartolo become a hippy or something?

I like this Cut Through song too. Its again very Open To The Public and even Wests voice is more reminiscent of 30 years ago.

Again and sure its no S/T but its better than the first song from this album and even that song is light years better than that new Roxy Blue drivel.

    • It's ok. I think people know I am a massive Crue fan, and I like a lot of stuff by them that people hate (the Generation Swine album for example) but the only newer original song I have cared about them in recent years was The Dirt. Everything else has been either meh or crap. I did also like their cover of Like a virgin, which I know a lot of peeps didn't like, so it's not like I am just craving the good old days. I would be happy if we could get a song close to Afraid, Saints of Los Angeles or the aforementioned The Dirt. I think songs like that will be few and far between sadly.
    • Have to agree. Although my expectations were that it would be absolutely horrible like Dogs of War lol. Still far away from classic Motley Crue but I at least made it all the way through this one so that's a positive. Still nothing to write home about but at least it rocks fairly well and there's a semblance of a song there.
    • Just ordered!   All three Magic Dance EPs (Another World, Kiss Scene and Haunting Me) combined into one CD. All new artwork, lyric booklet and three bonus tracks. Silver-pressed replication CD.     https://magicdance.bandcamp.com/album/magic-dance-the-eps
    • Stumbled upon these guys on the Instagrams. Pretty good mix of Modern Rock and Metal with blazing guitars and heavy double-bass drums, and Pop Punk-style vocals.
    • Well... I just jizzed in my pants.  I'm so glad these guys aren't a one-and-done act. Looking forward to much more music, hopefully.
    • Great album upon first few spins..I mean how good/catchy is the track "Lets Go Rent A Video" especially for those of us who actually remember doing that lol
