Hi There

I am a fan of the band Guardian and wanted to let everyone know that Guardian have a Kickstarter campaign running at the moment to try and fund their first album in over 10 years. There are some nice rewards for pledges from fans including signed copies of the new albums, tshirts, canvas prints, guitar lessons skype chats.

Please visit

to see if you might be able to help the band.

Many Thanks

Davison

I can understand why bands have to go this route in this day 'n' age but I have to wonder what happens if you donate towards the making of a record, and then (hypothetically) you think the resulting record sucks. Do you get a refund?

If I'm reading this right, the band wants to raise $30,000 to make this new record, but they only plan on pressing 1000 physical copies? Good grief. Are they planning to hire Mutt Lange to produce it or somethin'?

30K? Wow. Thats a huge chunk of change for a band on that hasnt done anything in a long long time.

As much as i love this band, and as long as they dont do another Bottle Rocket, or Buzz, ill get the album. But im very skeptical about this process. Big part of me says if they cant afford it, too bad. Thats life. Do we have to pay all our bands from now on to record?

Yeah, that's dodgy as hell. Both good points about the album possibly sucking (just take a look at the last few albums they did actually record!) or more importantly if it does never get made. What does happen to that cash? I guess the local church?

Other thing is, maybe they wouldn't be in such a predicament if the last few albums were not so f*cking terrible.

CDs already cost more than enough money without having to start paying for the mofo's to actually be recorded...

cmon man, aren't you counting the budget they're going to spend for some high class escort that those Wall Street guys has been paying ? they need that to write some good hooks you know :D

i agree. I normally base my buying habits on what an album sounds like, not what it may sound like. CDs are too expensive to blind buy most of the time.

from the site

P.S. When you make a pledge, you will not be charged unless our funding goal is successful. There will be no "hold" for the amount on your card either. If we don't hit the goal, you will not be charged.

Our hope is that this will be lots of fun! Kickstarter rocks! We love you!

Only band I'd help out with a donation would be White Sister

Yeh but would it be a good record if the only reason they are writing songs is because you pay? Wouldnt the best songs come if they wanted to do it whether there is money or not?

Well they did it! I check with 11 hours to go and they still needed over $10000, but they pulled it off. Now let's hope it was worth it.

Their buddies in Stryper posted Guardian's Kickstarter link on their Facebook page a couple of days ago, I'm sure that helped.

You're probably right about that. It'd be great if they toured together.
