My review of Talon's 3rd album, the less-than-creatively titled "III," is now available over at Hardrock Haven. Click the link below to check it out:

Talon review

Pretty much more of the same from Talon. Whether that is good or bad depends on your personal melodic rock proclivities.

Hmm, this is in my Amazon basket as a "maybe." Might have to downgrade it to a try before I buy based on that. :(

You wouldn't hate it, and you might like it a little more than I did, but it just seemed to me like so many of the songs were "just OK" with the outright gems few & far between. Within the Talon discography, I would put this in 2nd place, behind the debut, but a slight improvement over the last one. But hey, I'm just one reviewer...what the hell do I know???

Interesting. I actually preferred the last album to the debut by quite a bit... so maybe that does mean good things for me. Yeah, don't get me wrong. I kinda like the band and have the CDs, but they're yet to really thrill me. I read an early review of this that made it sounds like gold and thought I must buy. But like I said, I might need ot hear it first to gauge how much I spend on it...

I think the first two albums of Talon are in the range of 75-80% so I guess Mark's point of view on this may not wander far from mine. Interested to give it a listen first before buying

I had both of those albums and while they are fine to listen to, I just found that there was nothing special about them. No really good songs, just run-of-the-mill stuff.

Both of the Talon releases are very good to great IMO and loved both singers so I'm looking forward to getting this one.

Agreed. No way I am not buying this one. The guys in Talon are awesome. Especially the drummer John Parker. Great guy.
