havent seen any comment on here about it, what do you fans think of the new yes vocalist? was it even worth trying to replace a icon? a legend?

Benoit David! He does a good job on the new album and is very Jon Anderson in his vocal style. I like the new record and he fits in pretty well imo.

i agree Jez.

David's style is very similar to Anderson and I also like his previous work, Mystery and Yes' latest album.

That album, 'One Among The Living' is very neo-prog and I think you should try it as well, friend, if you haven't.

Oh no, i enjoyed the hell out of it, I just have a really hard time, as Anderson is just one of those vocalists that I just believe shouldnt be replaced, if anything, mount another album under a different name, sorry, maybe it's just me, Anderson is among the elite, im just funny about that shit!

Being a big Yes fan I haven't replied to this for a while as I had to figure stuff out.

I think the Drama period Yes was ....okay...technically ok....the Benoit version...from what I have heard is okay. It's Yes, the music is bang on, the music itself great, but now, as per the Drama period something is lacking.

Now this is something I've been pondering since Yes decided to go on without Jon Anderson (again) and listening to all their albums it's so fucking clear (sorry about the swear word!) why Drama period Yes and the new album Fly From Here sound great but in the end leave you/me wanting, unsatisfied...they're good but ..... BUT! Like I say techinally spot on, but there's one thing that Jon Anderson always brought to Yes, and it's one thing that always attracted me to Yes - even through their most baffling technologically driven albums (Relayer, Topographic), their ones where they hit the 80's (90125) and then the greatly underrated Talk and beyond.

It's a stupid old hippy ideal...but he brings love to the albums, it saturates his lyrics, hope, love, belief, beauty.....people say he's a real space head, I say he sings and says what a lot of us need yet won't admit, block out, think we don't have time for, he wraps the beauty of nature and life around him and his lyrics. The thing is as well - it's not lip service to that ideal either it totally comes across.

The way Squire,White and Howe have gone about dealing with Jon Andersons illness and recovery period is crap. Jon and Rick Wakeman are moving forward touring/recording Yes are doing the same...only one has the integrity of doing it for the love of music over money! Guess which!

Pah! Just been to the Yes website and I didn't realise Benoit out and Jon Davison in .... another new vocalist - hohum, just get Anderson back and maybe eventually bow out with some self esteem or call it a day now.

Wow. Really? Talking about this makes me sad, so I'm gonna leave it there.

I'm slowly realising I'll at some point I'll be getting this ( being a bit of a completeist trainspotter type at times) ....but not today ..... it took me 25 years to re-buy Drama after disowning it.

Waiting to find a copy for less than a fiver hahaha!
