Can anyone tell me about this band 'Fist' from Ontario, Canada, formed in 1979.

Are they a Hard Rock group like April Wine/Triumph that sota thing or heavier?

Which is their best album?

Were any of their older albums released on CD at some point?

Useless information...in searching for info on this band I discovered there is a New Zealand Death Metal band called 'Fist Fucked by Aliens'. Found that funny and had to share.

I only owned a couple of their CDs and my fav was Hot Spikes but none of their releases were particularly memorable.....Ron Chenier's vocals are an acquired taste.......April Wine & Triumph were much better bands IMO.....Fist did remind me of Axe for some reason but once again Axe was a better band....you can hear samples here...........

Pretty good band all in all and the Axe comparison isn't a bad one, although they aren't as good as Axe and were a little more heavier in style. They were known as Myofist over here in the UK, as there was another Fist (signed originally to Neat records, who released the 'Turn The Hell On' album on MCA). The debut Fist 'Round One' is very Pompy, with a sort of heavy Saga vibe, especially keyboards (moogs) wise and is a disc I like alot. It was re-issued by Canadian label Magada some years back and should be easy enough to get hold of. 'Hot Spikes' 'Fleet Street' ('Thunder In Rock' as it was known in the UK), 'In The Red' & 'Danger Zone' are really good discs and I have been after these on CD for a while now without luck (If they were all ever released on cd that is - i'd especially like a copy of 'Fleet Street' if they have). 'Reign Of Terror' and 'Loud Loud' are more metal sounding discs, and are ok but not as good as the stuff before. - I have these two on cd and again should be easyish to get hold of. The last 2 cd's are the compilation 'Fleet Street Revival' and 'Bolted Door' which were both avaliable from the bands website a few years back.

Great, I do quite like a lot of the Canadian Hard Rock bands from the 80's, for example the previously mentioned Triumph and April Wine, so I'll give this band a listen too. Sounds like it shouldn't be too difficult to track down some CD's on Amazon/E-Bay. I might stay away from the heavier ones - 'Reign Of Terror' and 'Loud Loud' for now. Thanks guys for the info.

The only one you'll get will be 'Round One'. I have looked everywhere for the other 3. Like I said, I don't even know if they were all released on CD. as I have never seen them.

Fist only had about three tunes that were worth listening. Fleet Street (Making People Pies, Evil In his Eyes) is ESSENTIAL if you are a rock fan. But I would say that In The Red is their best album. Get the greatest hits and call it good.

I have Round One on Magda which certainly looks official - if a little cheaply produced! I'm not aware of anything up to Danger Zone being on CD, but I do have Fleet Street on CD on Reborn Classics. pirate CD from 1993, it has Kooga Across The Water and Fleet Street on the same disc! I think I've got a couple of these on Revorn Classics, but I'd love to see a full list of releases.

Hi there

Only for say that I have just grabed a copy of FIST Danger zone in ebay (re-released by Rockit Records)for a rasonable price. I think it would be more copies of this one running out there.

The presence and sound of the cd is very good (in my humble opinion), and for my is a very good chance to get it (don´t want to imagine the cost of an original copy,if it´s exist)

bye

Hi -

I have 'Round One' for sale over at my site on CD. It is up for £30 but I happened to speak to the guy selling this the other day and he is willing to negotiate (reminds me I must amend posting on my site to this effect).

My site is: http://www.freewebs.com/aor4sale/

(There is a full description on the site regarding this release/condition/picture link etc)

I may also have 'Danger Zone' in the near future (but this is a Time Warp re issue)...

You can email me at: aor4sale@yahoo.co.uk

Many thanks -

Graham

Amazon.co.uk sell brand new copies themselves for £13.69, and at least one market place seller is selling it for less than £10, but for some reason I never understand, some market place sellers are selling it for £30+
