  1. Boy, do I love that first album! Most people prefer III Times... which is pretty good, but that debut is a forgotten classic IMO.
  2. Nice pick up on the 2am disc 50p, but the case was broken. I was going to haggle the price down but Mrs Mettle wanted to visit the ladies room
  3. It's weeks (months?) since I bought any used CD's. Whether it's the glut of excellent new releases that have taken all my cash recently(H.E.A.T., Auras etc etc) or just the fact that there just aren't many used CD's about I don't know. It was good this weekend to visit a friend and scour his regular haunts, although it's always difficult to decide who goes first! VA Suppers Ready - prog/metal tribute to Genesis John Parr s/t Driveblind s/t Tiles Fence the Clear - 2004 issue Tilt s/t - Dutch indie, all covers Clownhouse A Day In The Street - ex Savage, Extreme style hard rock 2am When Every Second Counts - nice to finally replace my vinyl and this had a good airing in the car on the way back home! 4. I've been buying and trading stuff abroad for 30 years now. I've been ripped off by just about every country on the planet - and a few that no longer exist!I won't deal with any third world countries, and I'm nervous about the old "eastern block" but I have had more good experiences than bad there. I'm always nervous about South and Central America, but I've just had a good trade with Brazil so... All this talk of the Italian postal system! Believe me the UK one isn't much better. Stuff I send takes longer to arrive than the reciprocol parcel! I had one trader in Paris checking that I lived in the UK after my parcel arrived from Germany! On checking with my local PO, it seems that most UK parcels go via Germany! A parcel sent 15 miles away got opened and stuff stolen. another to Grimsby, about 80 miles away never arrived. I think it's just luck to wherever you send.
  5. Poor pickings lately at HM towers But today got... BRYAN ADAMS s/t (1990 issue of 1980 LP) and you know what? I've never seen this CD before! Odd! STEVE HOWE Portraits of Bob Dylan - a lot better than it sounds! with some vocals by Max Bacon and Jon Anderson. DEAD WEATHER Horehound JOHNNY THUNDERS So Alone
  6. Hellsongs version of The Trooper is beyond excellent IMO. I think that it's one track that really stands out on the album.
  7. Glasgow - Zero Four One should have the following on the disc CDSNTF 041A/B 1125 802 02 I can only assume my Messiah Force is an original 'cos I've had it a long time, but the cover is not the same as the one shown on RYM so... 19. how much for a n.forest tee? my 2nd team there.... I have no idea mate! Where I'm from originally we don't have football, so I don't follow it. Now, if you were asking about shinty....
  20. Another shop here in Nottingham is on it's last legs. Changed hands and most of the CD stock replaced by vinyl I managed a few paltry bits this week... BAD COMPANY 10 from 6 EDDIE DE GARMO Phase II ELIXIR Mindcreeper FURIOUS TRAUMA Roll The Dice And my mate manged to get me this to add to the pile. 22. I forgot about the "Sales"! Given that there's practically no record(CD) shops left and even fewer good ones, I availed myself of the paltry pickings in Fopp (HMV was extremely poor! - no sale to speak off and very few CD's anyway!) GENTLE GIANT Out of the Woods BBC Sessions WISHBONE ASH On Air BLUE OYSTER CULT Agents of Fortune - Remaster CRAZY HORSE s/t MOUNTAIN Official Live Mountain Bootleg Series Volumes 15, 14,13,11,9,8,4,2. Volumes 3,5,7 and 17 still elude me(for a reasonable price) sadly.
  23. Krescendo is definitely NOT a legit label. Both the Ozz and Marcus CD's are illegal - not bootlegs, but counterfeits. They may be issuing some stuff legit but if other titles are not legal, then the whole label must be crooked surely. I had confirmation that the Marcus CD is not legit from Marcus himself. He said he'd tried to stop it being sold but wasn't able to. I sent him the label address and told him he should pop round with some mates and have a chat (it wasn't far from him) Wonder if he did?
