I voted the same as you, Rob... except for the last 2.

Here's my thoughts:

Angelica "Walkin' In Faith" ; I actually don't think I have heard the debut, but I wanted to vote so I just picked the 2nd one, as I own this and quite like it. I'm sure it's the better one. :)

Cry Wolf "Crunch" ; not too familiar with debut, but this one is good enough for a vote.

D'Molls "Warped" ; I sold the debut not long after buying it (for a good price too) but I still dig this disc - easy choice.

Extreme "S/T" ; don't like either, but I guess this one is better. I either still own it, or did up until recently. I got rid of 'Pornograffiti'.

Guardian "Fire And Love" ; debut is more consistent, but this has 'Time stands still' and 'Turnaround'... and a killer meaty sound.

House Of Lords "S/T" ; 'Sahara' is probably the weakest HOL disc, aside from 'The power of my cock' and the debut is one of their best. Easy pick.

Jetboy "Damned Nation" ; again, neither are great but 'Too late' is awesome and the 2nd disc is the better. Sold both, though.

Living Colour "Vivid" ; sorry, dud vote. I haven't heard either of these and never will. This was just a vote to get my votes in.

Vixen "Rev It Up" ; killer follow-up. Love this disc. Love the debut too, but this is far more solid.

Warrant "Cherry Pie" ; love the debut, but this was a great step forward, imo. Amazing disc.

Winger "In The Heart Of The Young" ; again, love the debut but the second is maybe just a little bit better. Maybe. I'm actually not sure about this vote. Completely 50/50.

Angelica - 'Walkin' In Faith - Not really up on the debut disc

Cry Wolf - 'S/T' - Good disc

D'Molls - 'S/T' - Haven't heard the 'Warped'

Extreme - 'Pornograffitti' - Not my faves by any stretch, but I still quite enjoy 'Porno' when I spin it (which is rarely)

Guardian - 'Fire And Love' - Easily their best disc.

House Of Lords - S/T. 'Sahara' was an ok follow up, but the debut is a mighty mighty beast.

Jet Boy - 'Damned Nation'. Again I have only heard 'DN', so...

Living Colour - 'Vivid'. Used to play this a fair bit at the time, Vernon Reid is a great player and they were a good band, if you like the Funk/Metal stuff.

Vixen - 'Rev It Up' - I like the Jeff Paris versions of songs on the S/T better and overall, this is a better album. Both great though

Warrant - 'Cherry Pie' - Don't like the band or either disc to be honest, but 'Cherry Pie' was the better of the 2 if I had to choose. They are one of those bands on my' shit list', along with a few others I could, but won't mention.

Winger - 'S/T' - I actually prefer the debut over 'in The Heart', so I gets my vote. If the mighty 'Pull' were here it would win hands down.

Wow, some pretty difficult decisions here....

1. Angelica - "Angelica" ....honestly haven't heard the second one...but love their debut. Rob Rock is an amazing vocalist.

2. Cry Wolf - "Cry Wolf" ... just because I've been listening to that one. Aren't some of the same songs on both of them? So really, it could go either way for me I guess.

3. D'Molls - "Warped" ... the first one has some good tracks, but I think this one is more solid all the way through.

4. Extreme - "Extreme" ... These first 2 Extreme albums are honestly the only ones that I like by the band. Even both of these have "filler" on them, IMO. But I'll take their debut...songs like; "Kid Ego", "Little Girls" and "Mutha" put it over the edge. Nuno's guitar playing makes these albums...

5. Guardian - "Fire and Love"

6. House Of Lords - "House Of Lords".....this one is EXTREMELY close for me. But I give a slight edge to the debut.

7. Jetboy - "Feel the Shake" .... hands down.

8. Living Colour - "Vivid" ....honestly, never really been a fan of these guys. So I just picked one, haha.

9. Vixen - "Vixen" ..... I am a big fan of both of these discs. So this one is pretty close....

10. Warrant - "Cherry Pie" .... Another close one. But "Cherry Pie" is one of the best of the genre, IMO.... just a great album all the way through.

11. Winger - "In the Heart of the Young" .... this is my personal favorite Winger album actually. But I like their debut, too...

Another great thread! B)

Some of these were tough and some of these were pretty easy.

My selections:

Angelica "Walkin' In Faith" (the debut is awesome too)

Cry Wolf "Crunch" (better production than the debut)

D'Molls "Warped" (still love the debut)

Extreme "S/T" (still the brightest moment)

House Of Lords "S/T" (hammers "Sahara")

Jetboy "Damned Nation" (inches past the debut)

Living Colour "S/T" (the second disc sucked)

Vixen "Rev It Up" (loved both)

Warrant "Cherry Pie" (has the better tunes on it)

Winger "S/T" (close one)

What's up with all the hatred for House of Lords 'Sahara'?

That one has always been my favorite HOL album just in front of 'Demons Down' and way ahead of the debut.

I personally like it a lot! The first 3 HOH albums are essential, IMO.

I don't think there's any hatred for it, mate. It's a great disc... but still their weakest "proper" album, imo. Just shows what a strong band they are. 'Remember my name' and 'Sahara' are actually 2 of my all time fave HOL tracks. 'Laydown staydown' is cool too. There's some good stuff on it, but compared to 'Demons Down' or s/t... not even close to those two in quality, imo. And I have to admit I also prefer the two most recent discs.

I'd put it this way. All their other CDs are melodic hard rock / AOR whereas 'Sahara' is closer to just being straight up hard rock and 'The power of the cock' is just a f*cking nightmare.

I'm with most of the others in that 'Sahara' is a strong album, but the S/T and the magnificent 'Demons Down' are better albums full stop. Like Geoff, I also prefer the lastest 2 as well, so would place it 5th in their league table. Just ges to show what a very strong catologue of discs they have.

Angelica (never heard them)

Cry Wolf - Crunch (contains some of the same songs as the debut, but the other songs a slightly better)

D'Molls - Warped (just am all round better album)

Extreme - Pornograffitti (this is the album where they matured and found their true sound, only to lose it again)

Guardian (dont own them)

House Of Lords (same as Guardian)

Jetboy (ditto)

Living Color (not a fan)

Vixen - Rev it up (far more solid than the brilliant debut)

Warrant - Cherry pie (same as Vixen, but this is one of my top albums of all time)

With me being a bigger Hard Rock fan along with the fact that Sahara was the first HOL I bought and considering that the debut is more AOR is why I prefer Sahara. But then again all of HOL's cds are great minus the Power and the Myth. :headbanger:

Angelica - Never heard anything by them, but now I have another cd to keep an eye out for.

Cry Wolf - ditto

D'Molls - ditto

Extreme - S/T only because like everyone else I was crankin' Mutha Dont Wanna Go To School Today on the way to school every day

Guardian - don't have anything by them

House Of Lords - I gotta go against popular opinion it seems and choose Sahara. Chains of Love is a favorite of mine. The S/T is good too.

Jetboy - S/T, close call

Living Color - I only own Vivid. Don't really care for this band.

Vixen - tough choice here...Rev It Up's Love Is A Killer...great song.

Warrant - Cherry Pie, barely over DRFSR. Saw them when they opened for Poison. Mr. Rainmaker one of my all time favorites.

Winger - another tough one, in fact I cannot remember how I voted! Probably S/T. Hangin' On, Hungry, etc. etc.

Angelica~ Never heard either.

Crunch~ By a ton. Very good album.

D'Molls~ Love the attitude on this one.

Pornograffitti

Fire and Love~ It has better songs.

Sahara~ Another one with better songs and more of the sound I prefer.

Feel The Shake~ Due to that song alone. I do like Damned Nation and probably play this album more than the S/T.

Vivid~ Cult of Personality. Duh.

Vixen~ Toss up here. Two or Three good songs on each album.

Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich~ What a great debut album. Play it all the time.

Winger~ Madelaine, great tune.
