I can see there'd be a few fillers on this, but sounds like a very cool band. 'Someone special' is awesome, as is 'Don't blame me (For what a did to your daughter' (). Good stuff.

Here's a little Story, which is why finding this post really warmed my heart.

I've been ready to quit music, all together. The last two years since the demise of soulshake has been sheer torture. and way to long to explain. But you guys & Gal, really lifted me this week.

my greatest vocal influence is a guy named John Corabi, who most people don't know. Which is a real shame really, because he fronted a band in the early 90's that was put together by Eddie Kramer, called The Scream. I WORE THIS CD OUT. twice.

The scream was my next Guns N Roses. He then left and made the ONLY Motley Crue album worth listening too. (I'm sure someone's gonna yell at m for that.)

anyway......funny part to the story, I was endorsed by Line 6 Amplifiers for many years, and the secretary for the A&R dept. was a woman named Val Corabi.

Three years later, I finally get the nerve to ask her if she's related to this guy John, who vanished off the face of the earth.

Three days later was my birthday, and low and behold, here coms a phone call from a Los Angeles area code....and who's on the phone? John Corabi, wishing me a happy birthday that turned into a two hour conversation.

as it turns out, John was ready to pack it in. done with the business, and all I could do was tell this guy how much his music meant to me, and how much his voice inspired me.

Not even a week goes by and he called to tell m he joined RATT.

LOL.

again...just a little thank you, for keeping my dreams alive, completely out of the blue.

cool story.

All the folks on this board love digging up obsucre rock bands around the globe.

just becuase the bands never made it big doesn;t mean that they weren't any good, and it's often possible to dig up some gems amongst these independantly released cds.

Every now and then a former band member such as youself finds this board and are amazed that people know of still seek their music.

Glad we could help keep the dream alive.

  • 3 weeks later...
Anyone else ordered these CDs beside me and Lindsay? And have the discs been delivered? I'm still waiting for my copies. Paid for them almost 3 weeks ago....

I was going to ask that same question!! Did you try to contact Warren?

No, not yet. I'll wait one more week. If I haven't got the discs by next Friday, I'm gonna contact him.

    • New song 'Devils Highway'. From Frontiers: Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to present the second installment of the Melodic Rock/AOR project Cry Of Dawn featuring Göran Edman on lead vocals. The self-titled debut album, released in 2016, was a welcome return for Edman and the new album, "Anthropocene" sees the talented singer sounding positively inspired.  For "Anthropocene", Edman partnered with producer/songwriter/guitarist Tommy Denander to craft a superb, classic sounding AOR album that harkens back to the glory days of the genre. Edman's enthusiasm for this style of music shines through in his vocals and the passion translates clearly through all the performances.  In 2016, Cry Of Dawn released a straight ahead AOR/Melodic Rock self-titled debut album which highlighted Edman's amazing vocal abilities on a superb set of songs. The result was a true feast for the ears of all lovers of the classic AOR genre. Now, with the follow-up "Anthropocene", Edman once again showcases his amazing vocal talents and demonstrates why he is so well-suited for the style.  Over the years, Göran Edman has been a stand out vocalist in numerous genres including neo-classical metal, progressive rock, and AOR, just to name a few. His vocal stylings can be found on records by John Norum, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brazen Abbot, and Glory, among others. Tracklisting: 1. Devils Highway 2. Memory Lane 3. Before You Grow Old 4. • New song 'Something In The Water'. From Frontiers: Long-running Swedish melodic hard rockers House Of Shakira have announced the upcoming release of their new studio album "XIT" on April 21, 2023. This new album follows the band's last studio album (and ninth overall), “Radiocarbon” in 2019 and the 25th Anniversary reissue of the band's debut album "Lint" in March 2022. "XIT" once again showcases why House Of Shakira have been one of the most consistently unique bands in the melodic hard rock genre over the course of their multi-decade career. House Of Shakira is known for having a distinct sound that stands out amongst other bands in the genre. They create melodic rock of the highest quality by mixing hard rock with several other musical styles. The vocals soar, the melodies rise, and the guitars bring it all back together. All these components make listening to the band's music a sensational experience. Because of the diversity of the music, House Of Shakira does not fall under your typical hard rock banner and in a world of musical clones, this is indeed a breath of fresh air. House Of Shakira are one of the most consistent and enjoyable melodic hard rock bands out there, as proved through their body of work over the decades. Originally called The Station, House Of Shakira is a Swedish melodic hard rock band originally formed in Stockholm in 1991. After deciding to change their name at the behest of a Swedish record label, "The Record Station", who thought the band's name was too close to their own, their new moniker came about in an interesting way. A German magazine that had reviewed their demo and noticed the band had no name ran a contest to have their readers pick the band's name. Geoff Noddings, a reader from England, entered the contest and suggested the name "House Of Shakira". In 1991, newspapers in England had written about a boutique store in London called "The House of Shakira." Using the sale of clothes in the boutique as a cover, the store actually offered and sold a very different commodity, as it was in fact a bordello. The band loved the name and thought then, and still today, that the name is a nice metaphor for something that is not what it seems to be. That certainly fits in with their music not being what one would normally expect of 'melodic rock'. Tracklisting:1. Something In The Water2. No Silver Lining3. Toxic Train4. Your Exit5. Too Much Love6. The Messenger7. Twisted Attitude8. Nowhere Bound9. Chimera10. Hell Or Heaven11. From Frontiers: Iconic duo Janet Gardner and Justin James return with their brand new album, entitled No Strings, which will be available through Pavement Entertainment. No Strings is the follow-up to the duo's 2020 album, Synergy. In the two years since the release of Synergy, Gardner and James went to work crafting their most exciting and memorable release to date. No Strings grabs the listener from the thumping anthemic opener “I’m Livin’ Free.” From the bluesy ballad “No Strings” to the rowdy closer “Drink,” No Strings has something for everyone!Gardner says, “Justin and my work flow has become so effortless that the creative process never gets bogged down in the technical aspects until it comes time to mix and master. Justin’s determination to bring this album to the next level, sonically, has had the biggest impact on this release.”James says, “I’m so proud of what Janet and I have created with No Strings. From the first chord recorded to the last note sung, No Strings is a piece of who we are.”   Known for being the lead vocalist of the legendary female rock band Vixen, Janet Gardner’s powerful vocals propelled Vixen to the top of the Billboard charts with crossover hits “Edge of a Broken Heart” and “Cryin'.” Justin James has worked as a guitarist/songwriter/producer with members of Staind, Collective Soul, and Tyketto.
