  1. Yes... they aren't for everybody. But (enter band member here) is a great guy and maybe someone on here would like them. Sounds like something I would say.
  2. Fuck yeah to all three of these...tho I'd probably pick Warrior Soul's Salutations From The Ghetto Nation over L.D.D.C., but only by a smidge That's a tough call ... fuck it, they're BOTH essential! You can't pick those two which are quintessential in my opinion without the middle record Drugs, God and the New Republic.
  3. I thought the Scotti Bros versions are two fold. Similar to the Spread Eagle self title with two mixes.
  4. Who knows maybe an individual. Some of the diatribes were fun to read similar to here and the Sam/Retrospect topics.
  5. I spent the whole of the original film hoping that the characters would hurry up and die ... ?That is an opinion I hear regularly and my wife echos. What I obviously find significant is the one liberal use of the at the time not an industry standard shacky cam and two the set up. They did a great job teeing up the found footage angle and the potential that this truly happened and three the lack of jump scare versus the staring at the screen waiting for something that never came. Made for a great deal of suspense which further cemented the ending. That said I also enjoyed Book of Souls as I thought that angle was played well. But as with the original part 2 fell flat with the masses. As with the third installment I wish they would have turned up the dials on the dread and steered away from the jump scares. The potential was there for something great but they didn't get it. The film clocked in at 89 minutes maybe if they adddednin about another 20 minutes they could have played out a few more scenes to improve the film??? Maybe a directors cut is impending that will be better? I think not.
  6. Ever since Skid signed off the site and obviously the board has gone downhill. I still write reviews for the main site and I did partake in the forum from time to time but as I mentioned I think the demeanor really shifted after the ownership change. And Dan asides from the donations let me know what and when you are thinking about hanging up your cleats as I am warming up and waiting to assist or ???
  7. Watched the Blair Witch reboot/part 3 and like all continuations of "classic" movies I went in with no expectations and this unfortunately fell flat as expected. As with most new films the focus was on jump scares and zero character development, you will actually route for the demise of the group of unremarkable young adults. Zero creep factor which should be a breeze with this franchise and the "shacky can" genre as a whole however this is as mentioned a very safe and overly homoganized film.
  8. Now You See Me 2 Overboard with the "magic" but still enjoyable. I do enjoy the underlying Illuminati theme...
  9. This is a cool sounding hard rock band that from what I've read have been around FOREVER and released a full length in 1979 and then a full length in 2014 and this one from 2016's Walls of Insanity. All band page links I've found have been dead, but maybe someone can flesh one out.!? And a single from 1981!
  10. Its not to bad I can help with posting and of course if the disc needs a new home I have space. On topic via the post, a big thanks to the bands: Shallow Side-One Thrillkiller-Showdown Rebel's End-Seeing Red Seeing Dead Rebel's End-3 song promotional single (Got 3 of these so 2 are up for trade) COntains 3 songs from the full length SRSD.
  11. Some very listenable and competent Austrian old school thrash metal here. https://www.facebook.com/wildhuntaustria
  12. The duo that is/was Thrillkiller have added 3 more bodies to their lineup and released their full length in July of 2016. For those that missed the EP, the new album includes the 4 tracks from the EP. This album is a dinger for sure, such a great band and I will not hold it against them that they call Baltimore their home. This isn't on the album but it is a bad ass cover:
  13. I agree! I was notified that it was released Jan 13. Looks like they have a couple more EP's out as well. https://shallowside.net/merch
  14. Nice tunes from this young Alabama southern mixed with modern rock band. THeir cover of Renegade by Styx is a good one too. https://www.facebook.com/ShallowSideBand/
  15. They did exactly as Roger Goodell paid them to do, roll over so Brady would take away the record of oldest QB to win a SB which is currently being held by Peyton Manning. He was 38, TB is 39.
  16. Me neither and that is saying sumthin' if you don't Jim!
  17. Ha, fooled me for a minute I thought it was these guys getting back together... That clip is SUPER safe and very non memorable to these ears.
  18. /\ /\ /\ That Suicide Squad is good I thoroughly enjoyed it. After a disappointing end to the 2016 football season watching Now You See Me with the kiddies. This is a fun film with some cool how'd they do that plot lines.
  19. As was the AFC game. Well in 2 weeks we get to see New England and Atlanta go to NRG stadium in Texas. I will be routing for Atlanta.
  20. Peter sent me a picture of the tapes yesterday...
  21. http://www.badboyeddy.com/ https://www.facebook.com/badboyeddyband Interesting sound these old timers from San Francisco have, but they do rock and its fine with me.
  22. Oh my Geoffrey and company will have a field day with bashing these poor guys. Of course the schtick is as as cheesy as the lyrics but whatever, it's harmless and agreed the solo and production is certainly Tooth And Nail sounding. https://www.facebook.com/trailerparkvampire
  23. Nice. I don't mind. BTW, your review is posted on the band's FB-page. This review will more than likely end my tenure at SR. Probably for the best as the temperature around there is unstable at best.
  24. Still LOVE scrounging and even though I have to up music to my phone for listening I will NEVER go digital. I can't wrap my head around spending hard in Benjamin's on intangible objects. And I agree with the Youtube statement for finding new and unknown bands I know I spend a great amount of early morning hours scouring there for bands to share, even though you all don't like them.
